    www.revzilla.c...
    Designed for the warm weather riders, the Dainese Drake Air D-Dry Pants are a pair of riding pants that are both versatile and practical. The mesh fabric inserts of the Drake Air D-Dry Pants make them especially suitable for the summer riders. Additional features of the Dainese Drake Air D-Dry Pants include removable composite protectors, Pro-Shape soft protectors on the hips, and a removable liner with breathable waterproof D-Dry membrane.

    I wish this was around when I ordered the Drake Super Air pants, the liner and hip armor are worth the cost increase.

    How does the removable liner look like?
    If the removable liner is taken out during the journey, can it be stowed away with the rider somehow?

    What other brands are similar to these pants? I like the fit. They come in fat-boy sizes. I like armor at the knee and hip. I'd just like to know my options. These are probably going to be the winner. What jackets will zip onto these pants?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому +2

      From Dainese, also consider the Drake Super Air, New Drake Air, and MIG Pants. Dainese pants with connection zippers only pair to Dainese jackets with connection zippers (which is almost all Dainese jackets). Just look for "jacket-trousers fastening system" on the Dainese jacket product pages. Also keep in mind that all Dainese sizing is Euro sizing, so be sure to check the size chart on each product page. For similar pants from other brands, consider the Alpinestars Raider Drystar Pants and REV'IT! Airwave 2 Pants. Alpinestars pants only pair with Alpinestars jackets, and REV'IT! pants only pair with REV'IT! jackets. -DrewZilla

    Just ordered. What's it like riding with these in the rain? Will the outer layer soak up water, or is it water resistant or quick to dry? Hoping to use them as four season commuters in my relatively mild climate.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому +8

      The outer layer will shed water in a light drizzle, but eventually, they'll soak up water. The inner waterproof D-Dry liner will keep you dry though. Once the rain stops, they are pretty quick to dry out. -DrewZilla

    Ok so I am in a dilemma. Have to choose between these and the rev’it airwave 2. For reference I will be use if these as a weekend ride option for our rides. I am in India which is in General humid and not too cold. I ride a Ducati monster. I already have a mesh ducati (dainese) jacket. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    • @RevZilla

      If your mesh Ducati/Dainese jacket has a waist connection zipper, then I recommend going with the Dainese pants for the extra safety of zipping the jacket to the pants. If your jacket does not have a waist connection zipper, then you can feel confident going with either pair of pants. Both are great, well-vented options. If you don't need the D-Dry liner, consider the Drake Super Air Pants too. -DrewZilla

      RevZilla super like for the quick reply Drew. Just one novice question. Is there any difference in quality of the fabric used by dainese and rev’it. The 600D vs 350 one used in dainese. Also would be of great help if you could suggest boots to go along with this as per the above riding conditions and scenario.

    Considering I don't need the D-Dry liner, should I go for the drake air d-dry instead of the drake super air based on the protection level ? is the price difference worth it?

    Hello! Can you please give me an advice, witch size should I order? Normally I'm 29-30w on jeans, but I'm 177cm tall and how I check on dainese website my size will be 46, but I'm afraid that will be to small for me or will be good? Thank you

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  4 роки тому +1

      In order to give proper sizing, I would need to know you waist measurement in inches as jeans can sometimes be deceiving when it comes to sizing. If you could get this measurement and your inseam rather than full height, that would be helpful too. Unfortunately, given the current Covid shutdown we are not monitoring these comments as we normally do, so please reach out to our Gear Geeks in customer service and they can help you get dialed in to the right size! - Pat

    I tried on the Over Flux D-Dry today and hated the armor. The size 50 fit my 32-33" waist, but there was no way I could wear work pants, the liner, and the Over Flux pants at the same time without nasty binding at the back of my knees. They felt great without the liner but with my pants. When touring I do not plan to wear anything under them on the hot days. Is it the same armor in these? Is the sizing the same between them?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому +1

      That's excellent feedback, thanks! I am sure that will help others who may be considering the Over Flux pants. I will say that the armor is the same in the Drake Air D-Dry Pants. The biggest difference is the cut: The Drakes are a slimmer cut since they are not intended to be worn as an overpant. Sizing would be comparable but the Over Flux pants have more room in the legs. -TeamZilla Chris

      I picked up the Drake Air D-Dry anyway after reading a review on the site that sounded like they were being used as an over pant. Hoping I could fit some pants under them, but I suppose I'll know once they come in. Might have made a small mistake, but I'll post up here and throw a review up on the site once they come in and I get some seat time.

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  7 років тому +1

      I suppose it's all subjective. If you're of a thinner build, or wear slimmer pants, you may be able to use them as an over pant. Regardless, if you're not happy with how they fit, just shoot us an email at cs@revzilla.com and we'll get a return set up for you right away. -TeamZilla Chris

    Really want these but not sure the size. Brian wears a 52 here, but a 50 for the other Drake Super Air. I'm also 6 feet, but 150lbs and 30 waist. Is the built in waist adjust ability a lot? I'd like the pant to cover the street darker shoe I plan to use but not sure if a 50 would reach. My inseam is also a 32 like brian. Should I get a 50 or 52? Cheers

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 років тому

      @@RevZilla Thanks Drew for the double response. Just to clarify the Drake D-Dry and the Super Air fit exactly the same?
      Because I usually armour shorts inside as well it increases my waist sizes considerably. These look quite slim for the leg in the video. I don't mind a little gap between the shoe and the cuff of the pant. But it sounds like if I wear armour shorts the 50 will be the right choice as it'll provide more length?

    • @RevZilla
      @RevZilla  5 років тому

      The Drake Super Air fit about a half size bigger, which is why HVB was able to wear size 50. So the Drake Super Air in 50 will be the baggiest for you, followed by the Drake Air D-Dry in 50. -DrewZilla

    How would this hold up to something like the MIG pant, taking into account both do not having the upgraded slide protection on the butt area? And that the MIG has leather in certain places VS the Drake having hip protectors also into the equation?
