This kid is so matured. And this is due to their suffering. Look at him, you know he was so grateful that he could not find the words to express it. Good kid.

Insurance tries to get out of paying for what they can. My 6-year-old is currently going through cancer treatments and the first year insurance covered everything but this second year they are pickier about what they cover. My son lost half of his hearing because of the chemo he received and our insurance doesn't cover his hearing aides or appointments for his hearing.

I’m not sure I’ve ever met a little boy so mature for his age. You can tell he’s so grateful, & so humble. He’s absorbing everything going on - & those tears spoke a thousand words. I get the impression he doesn’t ask often about a new eye as he’s aware his family aren’t able to afford it, what a strong, beautiful & gracious young man. Good luck my dude! You’ll go far in life. Much love to this beautiful family ❤️ xxx
YES! It is unbelievable that insurance companies treat artificial eyes as cosmetic surgery. Imagine only having one eye and a hole where the other eye is supposed to be. But the people that make artificial eyes make it difficult as well. None of them in the entire state where I live are "in network". The one that we deal with doesn't file insurance claims and doesn't take insurance at all any more. You pay the full amount which is $4,000 and they will help you file the claim by giving you a form to file with your insurance company. Thank you secret Santa for helping him get a new eye. You truly are a blessing to the east Idaho community.
What a disgusting thing to say about a child. I'm sure you meant well, but it came off as utterly contemptuous and inappropriate. "He might be deficient, but it's okay, he has me to compensate for his inadequacies". F off.

Insurance does not pay because a glass eye is ‘cosmetic’? 😲 This is the first Nate Secret Santa clip that had me in tears.. just look at the face of this fine little boy. How grateful I am to live in a country with a better healthcare system, (the Netherlands) but thanks to Secret Santa and Nate for making up for those ‘faults in the system’, they are the highlights of this grim 2020 Christmas.
"Warner, u heeft groot gelijk! Belachelijk!" Warner, you are right. Ridiculous! I suspect that this young man would need a new glass eye because he is growing. That it should be considered "cosmetic" confounds me. 65 and retired, I pay about $180 per month for my healthcare in the Netherlands. My retired sister, who lives in the US, pays about $1,000. Improved healthcare in the US makes perfect sense; that too many consider it "socialism" baffles me. As for this young man, I am delighted that the East Idaho News Team has bestowed this glorious gift upon him. Well done. "Fijne Feestdagen!" Happy Christmas!
I live in the Netherlands too. And after seeing this it make my eyes tearing up and was in a little shock to hear a glass eye is cosmetic and not neccacery.😱 But I have a longtime friend how live in Texas and her son need hearing aids but that set cost more then over 5000(He is an adult) dollars. Sooooo expensive. And a set of false theeth is also very expensive. THey pay there whole live for it.😭 It,s also not free here but more way less then in the USA. What a humble kid he is and how exited he was to see Nate. Looks like he saw his Hero🦸♂️
Insurance deepends on the company. It would be covered on a lot of plans. The thing about our healthcare is that it's innovative. If someone needs a crazy surgery, they often come here from around the world to get it. And we have a lot of generous people willing to help others here too. The bad thing is that our state run healthcare program is overrun and pays pennies on the dollar to doctors and hospitals when care is needed. Now, the price can be outrageous, I completely agree, but because of the insurance companies and state healthcare not paying the needed amount to the doctors so they can pay their staff a living wage, causes inflation. People haven't been resposible either. When the state healthcare is set up so that you can go to the ER for free, but pay to go to your doctor, parents who are poor, often have to take kids in to the ER for basic colds and stuff. Its between food and healthcare. But, if the system would make it cheaper to go to the doc for that stuff, and a minor copay for ER, even $10, it would fix a lot of the issues. Honestly, I don't want state healthcare where a board of people has to decide what is right for me. Where care might be denied if I am not considered valuable enough to fix. I don't know if that is the truth of the matter or not, but most of us here want the government far far away from our everyday lives. We don't want the government to be our daddy. Yes we want to have a strong defense from outside, and common sense law that prevents assholes from mucking about, but otherwise, we want the freedom of a free market society. Secret Santa has made the big bucks because of it, amd is now helping his (or her) neighbors. If common people would stand up, like this person, and help others, we wouldn't need the government to do it. We shouldn't need the government to do it. Go Fund Me is a great example of people helping people. I am a Christian, and many of us here are, and we help people when and where we can. I don't even celebrate Christmas, lol. But I give because I have freely received from my Heavenly Father. So I hope this helps. I love to hear from other people about how life works for them. Thank you!
I am not sure why people have to comment on our healthcare system when they don't know the whole story. Their insurance could be Medicaid for all we know, which is government run. Many people here have to have supplemental insurance in addition to Medicare because it doesn't pay all healthcare costs. Medicare is government run. Get back to us when the Netherlands population reaches 330,000,000 people. In the meantime, you could rejoice in the American spirit that performs these wonderful acts of kindness.
I also lost my eye to the same kind of cancer as a child (and also have my eyes made by the same guy in SLC as this kid will) I would say that he is experiencing a huge range of conflicting emotions right there. A camera crew coming to your house and focusing on the fact that you have a glass eye but also bringing you 8000 dollars is the ultimate dream and nightmare at the same time. But he ends up being just super brave and grateful.
ANYONE who dislikes this video needs to quit being selfish and take a lesson from this young boy who is far more mature and grateful than they are. Merry Christmas to everyone else!
As an eye cancer survivor, this touches me so much. I had a melanoma on the white of my right eye. Thankfully, the cancer never infiltrated into my eye so, I still have both but had the white removed and replaced with donated amniotic membrane. Shout out to the doctors at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia! My eye surgery was in 2009 and, Blessed God, I remain cancer free. This little guy has a strength I can only imagine having. God bless and keep you, Driggs. May you have a long happy and healthy life
I agree Jennifer. And the expense every year or so must be worrying for parents. Here in the UK we get help with health costs. It ought to be the same in the US. 🙋
How can a child's eye not be necessary? I will never understand why Americans stand for this private insurance racket. The stories on here are so sad but hard to believe people have to pay fir medical aids etc. At least your Santa is helping out. I hope they and everyone being helped have a really good Christmas ❤️☘️
It all boils down to sheer GREED! Saw it in South Africa and America is no different. The insurance company says the glass eye isn't 'medication'. Isn't it? Neither is a hip or knee replacement 'medication' but they are still carried out every day. Shame on the insurance companies, no wonder they are among the most hated professions in the world.
@@petelovesbevsills Medication is the wrong word. It’s not medically necessary to function. Just like contact lenses when glasses will work or braces for teeth if there’s no problem eating. Cosmetic appliances (just to make you look better) are not covered. Hip and knee replacements are covered because you need them to function. Cosmetic surgery such as breast enhancement and liposuction aren’t covered either.
@@Murderbits You must be in the insurance industry to defend them so hard. If you don't, then you really don't have a clue how much money these companies and execs make bybdenying not only this type of stuff, but also medically necessary treatment that they deem unnecessary. How many people pay them thousands upon thousands and get absolutley nothing in return by never needing treatment? Yeah, I think they can afford this. You look pathetic defending them. Seriously out of all the things you could choose to stand up for, you go with insurance companies? Laughable in the least...
Oh, this poor boy. He's so old for his age. Cancer really ages everyone mentally. I hate when kids get seriously sick. Merry Christmas to everyone. Secret Santa 🎅 is my hero. Peace and love!
He held it in because he saw how emotional his mom was. He was the man of the house at that time. But you could see the emotion in his face. He’s a proud young man. So happy Secret Santa was able to help this young man. Merry Christmas and God Bless all of you!
Isn't it appalling?! These greedy health insurance companies are criminal, and they 'nickel and dime' you more than ever these days, compared to a generation ago! We need a single payer/universal type system like they have in Canada or England. The rich can still pay cash on their own, if they choose.
OMG, what a sweet, sweet, sweet boy... he makes my heart melt!!! The whole family is adorable!! Thank you so much for making a huge and positive difference in this young boy's life, Secret Santa!!!! His tears got me good... you could tell how much he appreciates it!!!

From middle aged lady from Scotland to whoever this man is THANK YOU for making basic dreams come true for people who have run out of hope, you are one truly lovely person. Good luck to young Driggs on your appointments and getting your new updated eye, i hope that it is all that you dream it can be. You are one very brave little boy that deserves only good to come for you.
This Kid, God love him so much... He is gonna growing up to be an amazing man... I am just crying to see his reaction to the gift... I am sending you my prayers from Indonesia... 😇🤗
Aww bless him, he’s gorgeous. I think it’s such a shame the the American health system is so money oriented. This is not a cosmetic thing, as he grows into a teenager it will be for his mental health too.
@@pep590 Those with "free" care pay huge taxes. If you want the best and most affordable care, push government out of the way completely and let the market work. Americans think they've seen a free market but they are very wrong. It has been at least 60 years since the market was close to free. People don't understand the problem because the government has a vested interest in their ignorance.
This might be one of my favorites... you could just see his genuine and sincere gratitude. What a wonderful gift to a truly deserving child and family.
Such a gracious boy,a credit to his parents. Hope he keeps getting a new eye,he was overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you Nate & Secret Santa 🐥🎄🐥🎄🏴
I have a feeling that this little boy has been waiting for this gift, since he saw Secret Santa on EIN and he has been sending his prayers every evening before he went to bed. And thanks God this wonderful Secret Santa heard about his big wish at the right time! When you look at his face and at his beautiful eyes, you can obviously see, how important it is for him, to live his life to the fullest, like every little boy desereves it. And what a wonderful big brother. When the family is saying goodbay to Nate - he was the last one to give Nate a fist bump, after he made sure, his younger siblings were done with it. Well - little Driggs - you are a very special young man, as you can see - thousands of people from all over the world adore you and wish you all the best. You are a real inspiration for us, adults, to fight to the end, no matters what comes our path and you teach us to never give up on our dreams. These are very valuable and important lessons. Thank you for that, our big warrior. We are so lucky, to have known you, Driggs! Sending you lots of love and hugs ♥ (Thank you, Santa)
What a brave kid. He beat cancer so young, he shouldn't have to want for anything. I hope hope he has all the luck in the world for the rest of his life. Little champion deserves it. I'm sending my positive vibes from Ireland. Happy Christmas to you all
I'm from Canada and I just love watching these Secret Santa Videos, they brings tears and smiles. This one really touched me as my granddaughter was born with Retinoblastoma (cancer of the eye) and was diagnosed at one year old and had the same procedure and she is now 12 and doing amazing and is such a loving soul, intelligent and brave and will move on to do great in life just as the beautiful young boy will do. We are very fortunate here in Ontario to have the cost of these prosthetic items covered through our health care. The look on the this sweet young boys face was priceless. Wishing this family a Wonderful Holiday Season. We all Thank Secret Santa for this amazing gift and Nate for sharing these videos.
Driggs I hope I’m spelling this correct if not forgive me bud You’re an awesome kid bud keep up the great work you are an awesome big brother keep up the great work
I am so touched by this. My insurance covered mine but not all of it. It is expensive!!! What a cute little guy. This is not easy for children to go through measurements and fittings. He is so brave. You have made my whole year. Thanks Secret Santa.
Amazing family you can really tell when mum and dad are smashing raising kids when the children are so polite and grateful . The little lad crying made me so sad it's a shame secret santa didn't add a little bit extra on for the kids to have an amazing xmas.
he was so genuinely happy and overwhelmed with gratitude. he’s so mature an intelligent for his age. Pray they have a great life and he’s able to consistently get his new glass eye yearly for his comfort
Heartbreaking to see a health system so broken that the disadvantaged and those on low incomes suffer like they do. Christmas is a time for giving, not paying for basic medical requirements. Still, very moving to see this young man take it in his stride, all the best from Australia
This little boy is full of passion, he is a good son and he will take care of everyone he knows - I can see him there with this golden heart he will be blessed enough to help a lot of other people - 🌸🌸🌸🌸
As soon as Driggs heard Nate's voice, he went "Oh wait...". The fact he recognized him as someone he enjoys on UA-cam made his day. Then when Nate knew his name, he was even more elated. He seems like a good kid, especially if he likes Nate Eaton. Cause Nate Eaton is a good man.
I want to hug this kid so badly. What an absolute sweetheart. Great parenting ❤️ (all those kids are beautiful). But that one kiddo is special. I'm sure mom knows too :)
This gives the World hope. Beautiful family. Together. Happy. Grateful. Thank you Nate and Secret Santa for sharing the love and joy of being a member of the human race who give with grace.
What a beautiful family! May God continue to bless both them and Secret Santa. ❤ Merry Christmas to everyone! Remember that even if you aren't wealthy, you can still be a blessing to others in need, both during the holidays and throughout the entire year. 🎄
I'm sorry, I don't cry much at all. I fell in love with this little boy. We would love to have an update on him. My wife and I would love to know more about him and his journeys. God bless him and his little brothers and sisters. Merry Christmas son.
He is precious. How could anyone refuse to give him or anyone a false eye when they need it. Self esteem is very important to one's mental health. Secret Santa, you have a great, big heart! May GOD bless you richly. May grandson has a friend with a false eye. I saw him one day when it was not in. No one should have to go without one.

dear lord, it doesn't matter what you believe when you look at this family and especially this kid and know he deserves it regardless.
Strong Compassionate kid will make a great DAD.
How can a child's eye not be necessary? I will never understand why Americans stand for this private insurance racket. The stories on here are so sad but hard to believe people have to pay fir medical aids etc. At least your Santa is helping out. I hope they and everyone being helped have a really good Christmas ❤️☘️
We Americans, or at least this American does not want it to be like this. I think probably most of us don't want it to be like this. 😭
❤️❤️🫂🫂🫂🫂✌️💜
Are you new to the us?
this is touching. i pray the cancer never returns
My daughter had her eye removed when she was 11 months old. This is such a wonderful gift. Beautiful family, you can tell how tender they all are.
That kid is an old soul, what a great family
Oh, this poor boy. He's so old for his age. Cancer really ages everyone mentally. I hate when kids get seriously sick. Merry Christmas to everyone. Secret Santa 🎅 is my hero. Peace and love!
I used to work with Driggs’ dad. I can tell you there is not a more deserving family. I had tears watching this. Thank you secret Santa.
This kid's spirit is so strong and big that the fact he's missing an eye is irrelevant. Love him and that whole family. Merry Christmas - dude! :)
I hope I have a son like him someday
What a very adorable boy. He deserve to have a new one. He is loveable. God bless this kid and his family.
The world isn’t going to stop this kid. God bless.
He held it in because he saw how emotional his mom was. He was the man of the house at that time. But you could see the emotion in his face. He’s a proud young man. So happy Secret Santa was able to help this young man. Merry Christmas and God Bless all of you!
Insurance companies making millions of dollars. Won’t cover a child’s eye. What a shame! God bless this family
Isn't it appalling?! These greedy health insurance companies are criminal, and they 'nickel and dime' you more than ever these days, compared to a generation ago! We need a single payer/universal type system like they have in Canada or England. The rich can still pay cash on their own, if they choose.
What a handsome, brave and strong young man. Driggs , you are a champion!
And Secret Santa, please keep being you!
Bless this family! Once again, I pray for those who could give this a thumbs down. I pray for peace and happiness in your life. Merry Christmas!
I'm 35 years old male, but videos like these make me weep! What a lovely little boy, bless the whole family and bless lovely secret santa!
OMG, what a sweet, sweet, sweet boy... he makes my heart melt!!! The whole family is adorable!! Thank you so much for making a huge and positive difference in this young boy's life, Secret Santa!!!! His tears got me good... you could tell how much he appreciates it!!!
God bless this little kid. May he gets all the happiness in life . Kids are so innocent and so pure by heart
Oh my goodness, when he started wiping the tears away...not ashamed to say I was, too! Bless whomever this Secret Santa is. This person is helping to relieve suffering and bring joy to those who need it the most. ❤️❤️❤️
He is absolutely precious. Such a sweet family
I pray the lord blesses everyone involved and every single recipient. In JESUS name AMEN!
Amen
I love that young man. So much charisma. He is going to do big things with his life.

Nate deserves to be considered a celebrity
3rd street features an errand and the rest is going Monday and have to get worse and have to go out to my face 999⁹ it 9AM and have it all the same time as I 6th of the
Such a cute little guy. You can just tell he's a great helper for his mom. It was lovely for Secret Santa to include him.
owh such a beautiful little boy, bless him, he almost couldnt talk after he realised what the present was
These kids are so beautiful ......bless them.
It means a lot to him. Thank you secret Santa.
A worthy recipient even if he didn't actually live in Idaho.
What a great kid 😍
Aww bless him, he’s gorgeous. I think it’s such a shame the the American health system is so money oriented. This is not a cosmetic thing, as he grows into a teenager it will be for his mental health too.
For you and the current 21 people, who clicked like...it's Not the Health system....it's the GREEDY insurance companies.
@@MatthewC137 You nailed it Michael. Nice to see someone, who knows what is going on.
@@MatthewC137 amen
This might be one of my favorites... you could just see his genuine and sincere gratitude. What a wonderful gift to a truly deserving child and family.
Such a gracious boy,a credit to his parents. Hope he keeps getting a new eye,he was overwhelmed with gratitude. Thank you Nate & Secret Santa 🐥🎄🐥🎄🏴
Insurance companies are EVIL. This tough little man deserves the world.
Wow i didnt even notice him needing a new one. But thats awesome for him to get it :D
They need to be replaced as he grows.
Sending you lots of love and hugs ♥
(Thank you, Santa)
What a brave kid. He beat cancer so young, he shouldn't have to want for anything. I hope hope he has all the luck in the world for the rest of his life. Little champion deserves it. I'm sending my positive vibes from Ireland. Happy Christmas to you all
driggs was in awe. 8thousand dollars then speechless and crying tears of joy.
merry christmas to driggs and his family. and everyone here.
What a gorgeous little boy with an even more beautiful old soul. Lots of love to this sweet family!
Thank You

Amazing family you can really tell when mum and dad are smashing raising kids when the children are so polite and grateful . The little lad crying made me so sad it's a shame secret santa didn't add a little bit extra on for the kids to have an amazing xmas.
he was so genuinely happy and overwhelmed with gratitude. he’s so mature an intelligent for his age. Pray they have a great life and he’s able to consistently get his new glass eye yearly for his comfort
Insurance is a joke. Bless this family such a sweet boy!!!!
Heartbreaking to see a health system so broken that the disadvantaged and those on low incomes suffer like they do. Christmas is a time for giving, not paying for basic medical requirements. Still, very moving to see this young man take it in his stride, all the best from Australia
This little boy is full of passion, he is a good son and he will take care of everyone he knows - I can see him there with this golden heart he will be blessed enough to help a lot of other people - 🌸🌸🌸🌸
There's something special about that kid. God bless him.
Oh Driggs, you are so perfect! I’ve never seen an 8 year old rendered speechless before. God bless him. Mama has such sweet children!
I love the way even at his age, the boy understands the importance of this gift.
I want to hug this kid so badly. What an absolute sweetheart. Great parenting ❤️ (all those kids are beautiful). But that one kiddo is special. I'm sure mom knows too :)
Right ....
Fully agree!
This gives the World hope. Beautiful family. Together. Happy. Grateful. Thank you Nate and Secret Santa for sharing the love and joy of being a member of the human race who give with grace.
What a beautiful family! May God continue to bless both them and Secret Santa. ❤
Merry Christmas to everyone! Remember that even if you aren't wealthy, you can still be a blessing to others in need, both during the holidays and throughout the entire year. 🎄
Don't understand how anyone can bring God into this. The kid lost an eye to cancer. A KID. There is no God. How can people not see that....
You can SEE the PURITY in his spirit.
No one should have to go without one.
this kid is so tough! way stronger than me, Godbless this amazing kid!
What a adorable kid, Aw I’m happy he’s getting his eye.
My heart, I can’t stop crying. What a sweetheart.
And who knows the party and tears of joy when the father came home after work
