This time, we will introduce Miidera (Onjoji), a famous temple in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture.
Since it separated from Hieizan Enryaku-ji Temple in the Heian period, it has repeatedly fought with Enryaku-ji Temple for many years, and has been repeatedly burned down and rebuilt each time.
In March 2022, I visited Mii-dera Temple, which often appears in books on Japanese history and Buddhism.
The Otsu City Museum of History, Lake Biwa Canal, and Lake Biwa, which are located near Miidera Temple, are also mentioned, so please take your time and look around.
