I wonder if India did not exist before Gandhi... ? as if Gandhi alone created India.... Most probably he was a pawn of the west so that they can leave India dignifiably without having to face war.
Quote of Subhas Chandra Bose: freedom is not given, it is taken
In case of Gandhi, freedom was given, which is massive proof that he was a pawn of the west. India also lost Pakistan, Bangladesh. If not for our towering Hindu leaders like Vallabh bhai Patel, we would have lost many more regions...
If we still don't learn from our brutal past, as Indians nothing but failure will be in our destiny. Only under the umbrella of Hinduism, can all prosper in this country. It's just simple sense to me... 🙏🚩🚩🚩

Before Gandhi, the idea of India in people's mind was simply an agglomeration of many princely states and the British territory. Two people living in Travancore and Cochin were not connected other than their common language. They were living in two countries. Gandhi instilled the idea of a nation and the need for its freedom into the minds of common people like farmers, artisans and workers irrespective of where they are from. Be it a princely state or directly under British crown. Only after Gandhi was the mass movements had its momentum in India. He made people realise that the prime reason for their hardships is Britain. He was leading two movements at the time. One of a nation building, i.e., the indian national movement and the other of freedom struggle, Indian freedom movement. If I quote Bipin Chandra from his book 'it is the only movement where the broadly Gramscian theoretical perspective of a war of position was successfully practised'. We can see that clearly through the history of legislations passed here from 1909-1947. It was definitely non violent but ultimately the civil liberty movement that Gandhi led got us to our freedom.

People were not selected through competitive exams to lead us to freedom. The door was opened up for everybody to have their part in gaining freedom. Be it through violence or non violence. Many have tried the violent path and contributed what they can. Those were people trying their best to get the Britishers out of our country. Respect them. Gandhi was doing his part through mobilising people, leading marches, satyagrahas and being in jail. Millions of people joined him than being violent. He inspired millions around the world including Martin Luther King Jr., Nelson Mandela and they successfully led people in civil liberty movements using Gandhian principles. At least he did that rather than being a pensioner of the oppressor.

There should have been some discussion about follies of Mr Gandhi, vetoing congress to make Nehru to make him PM, fasting to pay Pakistan against national interest essential exercising power without taking responsibility. Quite a one sided view, disappointing. I have loved your precious podcasts with Neelkanth Mishra and many others

And he was politician not a saint
Send millions to die Europe to fight somebody else war instead of fight in India against British what sort of ahinsa non violence was that

Yup on the khilafat issue ..gandhi saw an opportunity to unite the divided communities ....he tried to draw muslims as well as hindus out from their homes to rise against an common enemy ...
See politics is about never let go an opportunity to mobilize the masses
And yes before gandhi ...national movement was limited to some regional pockets of the nation ...among intellectuals ....he successfully took the movement among the common masses ....nd devised an effective way of protesting tht is....fight truce fight.....cz non stop protest is not possible cz mass movemnt gas limited energy and patience ...
Learn more about gandhi ..nd remeber u are nt the 1st wannabe cool critic of gandhi....he had his critics in his time also ...nd they were far more astute critic u are now ...
