Luischocolatier i been listening to your other works after this video to try to find it and i love your works! You have a great ear for arrangements and it sounds amazing.
Here it is! Just the audio for now, but as soon as I get to the point in my webcomic for it there will be a video ;) soundcloud.com/luischocolatier/ending
The Ghibli museum has uncolored photos of the food to demonstrate how many colors and how much shading they do on each food item, the amount of attention to detail is insane.
I love the room they have done up like howls room and you go around the side to look through the hole so you can see how it would be drawn :) that place was amazing!!
Just do it homie. Dont be all weird about it. I used to eat cheese curds at a cemetery overlooking a lake. I used to be into looking at property we can actually own. XD
I mean, I could talk about how the way they eat and the kind of food they make or eat shows a lot about the characters... but I just wanted to let the images speak for themselves and show their beauty, not to make a video essay
When I was a kid, grandpa used to own a cd store. Being gifted a ghibli cd was the best thing that ever happened to me and my sisters. Imagine 3 girls crowding around a old tv while the movies were being played, beautiful music in the back. Don't forget constantly shifting the positions of that weird antenna metal things😂😂 miss those times❤️❤️ studio ghibli reminds me of warm times together with my family
I especially love the bacon and eggs scene from Howl’s Moving Castle. Makes me salivate at how sumptuous that bacon and fried are. I was so happy that Ghibli Studios made an adaptation based on one of my favourite novels and it went beyond my expectations.
Cici D. I love it too! All that food, the big plates, how squishy it al looks... But the eggs and bacon scene from Moving Castle is too fantastic for me not to love it
What I love is that you can tell the people are happy with the food. It genuinely looks like eating whatever they eat is filling them up and in turn causes happiness like all food does when it tastes good.
i feel like ‘from up on poppy hill’ is extremely underrated when it comes to food. at the start umi is making breakfast for her family; i always find that scene really satisfying :))
I remember when I was younger, my grandparents didn't have a lot of money, so they used to buy me cheap movies like heidi and ali baba from Jetlag Productions. I loved the bright colours and voices. When I got a little older (7-8) I watched my first studio Ghibli film, the secret world of arrietty. And as a little girl, the miniature ness of it all was so fantastic. So now whenever people ask me what kind of happiness I want, I say "I want happiness like something out of a studio ghibli film" ♥ studio ghibli has this optimism that just makes me so happy
Such a masterpiece. Now a days most movies are done in cgi and rarely hand drawn. That’s not to say that cgi movies are minimal effort or can’t be good. I’m saying that there’s such a unique quality to these hand drawn Gibli films that have such a nostalgic tone. It’s sad that there are only a handful of these films. However, I can say with absolute confidence that Gibli really put in a 100% into the films they created.
Not only do Ghibli movies have good animation, stories, and characters, they also have really delicious food that makes you go hungry when you look at it on screen.
My whole life I have been obsessed with ghibli food, this an incredible vid. I have been wanting to find something like this for a while. Plus the best songs :,)
I had always wondered too why there was no video like this on the internet, so I made it (incidentally, other more famous channels decided to create similar videos a while later but eh, I won't throw shade)
Films that are in the soul, Cry, laugh, Shout, Don't Lie To Me And Kiss This is gold Sofi, in order for me to recommend the film beautiful, and if you don't know the name of all the Films Step name
This video is fantastic, but it makes me sad that so many people dont even bother with wonderful movies such as Only Yesterday and From Up on Poppy Hill
Miyazaki treats food like clothing and scenery: his choices are all very deliberate to the characters and plot in the story. The more evil characters with higher class tend to have more extravagant meals with great variety, typically a lot of meat, and entirely way too much food that piles up on the plate: this kind of massive amount of meat and food represents greed, specifically the kind of greed that requires sacrifice from others. The Yubaba's twin sister has more classy tea, biscuits, and cheese: comforting, and still high-class, but more appropriate for a smaller setting. No meat! That stands in stark contrast to the grotesque lavishness of the food we saw around the bathhouse. The bakery in Kiki's Delivery Service, of course, has plenty of bread. Big, warm, comforting bread. It looks like the floury bread from an old, traditional bakery, and I bet that's what it smells like: far more traditional than the rest of the city has become. And the grandmother bakes a fish pot pie, a dish that is extremely laborious and complex, not often made or eaten. This really highlights the rejection that happens later in the movie. The child didn't reject fish, she rejected tradition and was inconsiderate of labor. Pazu, being a very poor orphan, just has a slice of bread with a single egg for breakfast, yet still cuts it in half to share with Sheeta. No other food would've been more messy or more difficult to share. Miyazaki had to show Pazu was a good kid willing to make sacrifices early on in the movie, and this was a great way to do it. But perhaps the most obvious of all: he chose ramen for Ponyo - the film where a fish wants to become human, and Tokyo gets flooded in the process. How fitting is that the food is also flooded?
ngockhanh do Joe Hisaishi is certainly one of the big masters... And this piece is also my favourite That's why I put it here, his work has inspired most of my music!
I've always wondered, and I wonder if anyone here could tell me, what are the big squishy things Chihiro's dad puts on his plate? You see him grab one at 3:01
I heard in one video (though I think it's gone from UA-cam because Ghibli also copystrikes videos at times) that they're supposed to be like giant soup dumplings.
I just wish you showed clips from more of the movies. To me some of the most memorable foods scenes are: Sheeta cooking on the airship galley, old lady cooking while telling a story in Nausicaa, examining fish bones in Wind Rises, and the cooking in a shallow cave in Princess Mononoke.
Hey I’m just here to say I love everyone in the comments. If you love Studio Ghibli I love you automatically. If you love Studio Ghibli to the extent of being able to converse about it for days on end, you are my new best friend. 💕
i have no clue how studio ghibli and other anime’s make food look so glossy and delicious. also, the grandmother in kiki’s delivery service looks just like the great aunt in mary and the witch’s flower- dare u say the same person.
Outro song? The 8-bit one
Coraline XIV I composed it myself! I can extend it a bit and upload if you want to have it!
Luischocolatier i been listening to your other works after this video to try to find it and i love your works! You have a great ear for arrangements and it sounds amazing.

Feigned Yeah! I've made some food drawings myself and it's insane how much detail you have to put in order to make them believable!
I love the room they have done up like howls room and you go around the side to look through the hole so you can see how it would be drawn :) that place was amazing!!
Wish I can go there someday :)
I would love to eat bread and cheese while sitting on a hill, gusts of wind blowing everywhere
Sounds great and beautiful. I'm in!
SMALLLL WOOORRLD!!!
Heliogenesis That’s like a dream!!! Like you don’t need to do anything or worry about anything, you just look at nature while eating
right!!! that was my favorite scene of the movie ever since i was a child and that says a lot
Just do it homie. Dont be all weird about it. I used to eat cheese curds at a cemetery overlooking a lake. I used to be into looking at property we can actually own. XD
Everything looked so good i even wanted to eat those egg shells lol
Katharina Zhang 😂😂😂
Frikin studio ghibli why'd you have to go
u high
I thought this would be of some sort of philosophical breakdown of sorts. I'm still content that is not.
I mean, I could talk about how the way they eat and the kind of food they make or eat shows a lot about the characters... but I just wanted to let the images speak for themselves and show their beauty, not to make a video essay
Castle in the Sky, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro..... all of my fav movies

All Ghibli films have a certain vibe that we all know but can't describe
My favorite one is from Spirited Away

This brought tears to my eyes, so many childhood memories. Thank you!
I'm so glad this was in my recommended this! This whole thing was like a trip through nostalgia.
Please Ghibli I’m on a diet have some mercy

Studio Ghibli can make even the most basic of fare look like a feast.
Not only do Ghibli movies have good animation, stories, and characters, they also have really delicious food that makes you go hungry when you look at it on screen.
the howl's eating scene is legendary
also let's acknowledge how Sofie was judging the living conditions inside the castle ahaha
In the book she's even harsher with it gbfgbndfnfn
It all looks so yummy.
Talea Phillips my favorite one us from Spirited Away
Thanks for bringing back all my childhood memories I’m crying now bc I missed my childhood 😢
It's like watching Enid Blyton animating her description of food
You're so right you should receive an international award of truth or something holy shit
This is aesthetically pleasing
Everything moves like jelly, it’s so fascinating! How they animate water is a prime example of the jelly like movements.
My favorite ghibli foods are the ones from Spirited Away. I don’t even know what half of it is but I wanna eat it anyway
From time to time, it is necessary to feed... and the feast prepared by Studio Ghibli MUST be savored.
My favourite food scene from Ghibli is in Only Yesterday (思い出ぽろぽろ)when Taeko eats pineapple with her family.
yeah. that pineapple aren't ripe yet, its flesh was white. ripe pineapples got yellow flesh.
I’m hungry.

Ghibli, always in my heart.
the nostalgia hits hard at home here
Tbh i can smell the food jsut by looking at it ( my mom would make artasan bread like the ones in kikis delivery survis and it would be exquisite)
Ghibli is beautiful in that they have all the needed lines where detail is required but keep simplicity where lines are not needed.
0:51 that bacon made me swoon for a sec there.... just look how just perfect it is
Also *FOOOOOOOOOD! FOOD EVERYWHERE*
Studio ghibli is so aesthetic I love tf he scenery it's just so pretty, one day I have to try their food-
Man do I love Ghibli. Brings me so much joy
Ghibli is an SSS Tier studio.
I am hungry now I wish that I can be there.😊

I love this analysis!!!! It's also very telling not only the food itself but how each character interacts with the food!
imagine how much better the world would be if food looked like this
I have listened this song for ages =)) i do not have a sense of the reason, why i not gotta boring it!
ngockhanh do Joe Hisaishi is certainly one of the big masters... And this piece is also my favourite That's why I put it here, his work has inspired most of my music!

so comforting :)
Omg thanks. Now I'm hungry. Lol can you do a food video like this for other anime too? "Restaurant from another world" has amazing food.
