Mali po yung communication ng Philhealth at DOH about this. Dapat nagkaroon sila ng information drive about the Universal Health Care system muna thru TV, radio at newspapers sa pinas and then sa UA-cam, FB and other social media siguro. They should have tackled the revamp or change of Philhealth from a medical coverage to an universal health care system, which are totally different. Dapat hinighlight nila what this would mean to each Pinoy, regardless if you are an OFW or working in Pinas, kasi unprecedented po yung change na ito. Imagine having the same health care system as SG, South Korea at Germany. Kaya ganito po backlash ang response kasi this was not marketed and advertised properly. Bigla na lang nagsend ng communication sa increase ng premium na walang pasintabi based kung saang law ito at anu ano benefits of having a Universal Health System sa country mo. If this should be done in phases, then this should have been explained and elaborated properly through all possible means as mentioned. I’m sure magkakagulo din sa Pinas kasi mas complicated payment scheme nila kasi employers nila pay ng premiums nila on their behalf.
Universal health care really comes from citizens tax. If you look at Canada, switzerland, sweden, denmark or UK, they all have a successful health care system because they work together. Corporation and private firm don’t run the society. i work overseas myself, i don’t mind paying extra taxes for my fellow filipinos. After all, we are a 3rd world country. The poorest part of our society can’t even buy a medication that they needed. People in provinces can’t even afford to go to the doctor. I’m not a selfish human being. I do believe that health care is one of the basic human right of every Filipinos.
Zazzzyzeee A I am not saying that UHC law has a negative implications, I myself working in healthcare industry know how important access to healthcare is, the part where i disagree is how to get funds, i think it is unfair that an overseas filipino has to pay 3% of its monthly income while other direct contributors residing in the philippines will have their employees shoulder half of the expenses
For your info Dr. Gigi Domingo, 21,600 pesos will be shouldered by the employee alone. As an OFW we are not benefiting this universal health care while we are working abroad. Our employer is giving us health insurance for free. Saan kayo kumuha ng lakas ng loob para pabayarin and using OFW 1000% from the current 2400 pesos?
Thank you President Duterte. We OFW love this project. Sobra po tulong sa amin nito. Salamat po poon. Sana po gawin nyong 10 percent next year para po one time big time! 😂😂😂
You don't have right to take our sacrifice here. As OFW hindi ganun kadali kitain ang gusto nyo makuha samin. U guys are unfair. Kami naghihirap tapos kau magpapakasasa?, its not diplomatic decision. 14th years im here in abroad but until now i dint get anything from philhealth. Same ng owwa we just paying for nothing, small amount for quarantine support even single centimos wala kami nakuha.
Dr. Gigi Domingo please get your facts straight. The question was very clear, if the 21,600 will be paid by the employee alone? I can’t believe you said yes that it was clear that the OFW will have to pay for the whole amount! This is not a fucking joke! Do you think being an OFW is easy and we have been swimming in riches? charging us this amount of money is unfair and an indication of poor governance, corruption, and incompetent leaders we have!
Are you out of your mind. Our employers here would never share the contribution nor pay the half of it. OFW will shoulder the entire 3% thats for sure. Employers here are already paying our health insurance in our host country. Do you really think that they will pay for another health insurance considering na hindi naman sila saklaw ng batas natin diyan sa pilipinas.
This should not be mandatory for ofw's. If anyone wants it they can voluntarily get it. 3% of our salary monthly is no joke. I'd rather pay my sss and pagibig or insurance at least i'd get something out of it when i retire at least. But this??? What do i get out of it? They should consider so many things before making it a "mandatory thing". Shit brains are running this thing.
I agree po PHilam life nga 3500/month health+ invest na. So unfair!

I have 4 months contract on my company, me and my employer will share the amount of 1800 pesos per month because my salary is within that range. After I finish my 4 months contract my employer is not oblige to pay a share, so during my 4 months vacation I have to pay that amount alone. This is only calculated in 3% how about if it reach to 5%? I have to pay 3k monthly during my vacation and if you have lapses on your payment it will make additional interest.
