    Great video, just wanted to make a quick note. WTF Taekwondo still allows punches, however not to the extent that ITF Taekwondo does. WTF taekwondo allows one form of punching and completely relies on its point system, however punches are extremely risky as you can easily get back kicked therefore they are only used from extremely close range and are almost ineffective. Still allowed though. W video.

    Lookism and Viral Hit (especially v-hit) made taekwondo look cool and a martial art worth practicing especially if you combine it with boxing you will become a beast

      FR they over glorify it slightly, but it's nice to see tkwd getting the respect it deserves

    As someone who got into martial arts because of comics like lookism and animes like Kengan Ashura
    I started out with taekwando because it was close to my house. (Blue belt)
    It is extremely useful in building kicking speed, distance management and agility. But the ruleset is so limited that it makes it all but useless. Especially as a shorter guy in a few tournaments I would go up against someone significantly taller than me I wouldn’t be able to reach his head an limited to only body kicks.
    It did help a lot with my kickboxing though (only started a few weeks ago) my style is very dependent upon my kicks where I really only use my hands to set up my kicks.
    Taekwando is better than nothing, but as a pure style their are many better, as a base it is actually extremely underrated. The speed you get in your legs and when you mix it with some basic head movement and boxing is amazing.
    I started grappling (BJJ) I don’t want to be a fighter or anything but I genuinely love martial arts.
    Also I am decently athletic so that may have helped me in my journey.

    • @greeeeeee_________no
      @greeeeeee_________no  4 місяці тому +1

      I agree that it’s a decent option, and when used by the right practitioner it can become immensely powerful. Thank you for sharing your journey, and i hope that kickboxing goes well!

      but lets be honest its not effective to start with it it gives you very bad habits such as low guard and dependence on range plus the footwork is the not best and block ineffective i have fought a lot of people who have spend like 19 years on it but they loose cause of these habits(i was the u16 national's winner of karate in india back in 2016 something), in the combat sports event that i visit taekwando fighter loose in the 2 round when they allow graples and takedown,a muai thai fighter of age 17 destroyed a taekwando fighter of 24 in the close range cause of the calf and knee and seeing that your doing bbj i dont think you will face this problems though,if you want an advice i would advice you to do MMA for not more 6 months only for its ground work

    • @greeeeeee_________no

      @@greatzoro1677 That's a great point, but it depends on the strength of the practitioner not the martial art! Maybe the tkwd fighter just isn't suited for tkwd while the Muay Thai fighter is

    • @ForerunnerOfSkyAndMoon
      @ForerunnerOfSkyAndMoon 4 місяці тому

      @@greatzoro1677 that’s true, but I always did Taekwando with the idea of transitioning to kickboxing or Muay Thai so I had a high guard and utilized the teep kick heavily in my style of taekwando.
      It was good for sparring but in competitions it wasn’t the best but it helped me a lot when I transitioned to kickboxing
      I’m just saying though as a base it’s quite underrated for things like kickboxing or Muay Thai if you train with that in mind. I am by no means a good kickboxer but I am occasionally able to catch people with a flashy unorthodox kick in kickboxing (I heavily built my style after Yair Rodriguez)

    Kinda my area of expertise. Mixed martial artist but i practiced Taekwondo for years. One thing is, that Taekwondo isn't a compkete martial art as its taught today and that includes ITF and WTF. It truly has the potential to be the uncontested greatest martial art on the planet but its not.
    Thats because people dont understand what Taekwondo is meant to be used for. Taekwondo was designed as a military martial art first as you said. You did a good job of covering its strengths so I'll just cover what it could do better.
    First of all its hands. Tarkwondo has various hand techniques that aren't used anymore. Though theyre situational if combined with boxing, in a bare knuckle or MMA style match they could be effective techniques.
    Elbows and knees. Taekwondo has techniques that set up or chain off of an elbow or knee. Even the reason we chamber our kicks furst is partially so we can just knee someone who gets within kicking range. It's something that happens often in WTF even if its not allowed somply because of the nature of the kick.
    Grappling. Though Taekwondo has joint locks and such, theres no real grappling in the martial art, despite it having set ups and leaving gaps for it. However because in the military where it was created, Grappling was taught seperate to Taekwondo, that art never fully incorporated it.
    I know this just sounds like MMA but Taekwondo really incorporated all of these already originally. I actually think the position that Taekwondo is in now is beneficial as it can rebuild with foundations set up by martial arts and MMA which weren't as popular then as it is now. It has the cahnce to evolve into something more.
    Also James Lee's style is a mixture of Capoeira and Taekwondo. He uses the flow and circular movements of Capoeira and combined them with Taekwondo.

    It’s a great minority style not the best base but has the best bag of tricks but it has a lot of counters and that’s why it’s better to specialize somewhere else unless your talented for it but it’s great to have the arsenal it really extends ur range and the amount of torque and momentum u can create n use so it turn a fly weight kick into a heavyweight but that’s if it lands

    • @greeeeeee_________no
      @greeeeeee_________no  4 місяці тому

      Tbh Taekwondo’s strength as a base depends on the goals and physique of the person using it imo. However, i agree with you that it’s power is insane and you never really know what’s coming next when fighting a tkwd athlete 😂

      I agree that WTF taekwondo isn't effective! But, the ITF style uses punches as well, and when turned into a full contact style with leg strength it can be as effective and impactful as muay Thai or karate - when in the hands of the right person. as Someone who is well verse in martial arts. The best style in the world is wing chun.
    If you see Ip man movies this martial is both soft and hard. It's a martial arts that can kill 10 karate black belt at once. It can protect, its can defend.
    Taekwondo is inferior because its brutish and rely on power. Wing chun rely on strategy, defense and barrage of attacks.
    If Ip man enters ufc, it will literally put ufc in a halt. The wing chun we have today is watered down, the og wing chun can destroy every style in the world.

      @redeak8422 4 місяці тому +2

      Well how will wing chun do against a grappler i have been through wing chun schools and have also fairly did my training in mma and wrestling and its vague to me how can a wing chun practitioner defends against a double leg?

      @asiangamerMC123 4 місяці тому +2

      Brev ip man would get destroyed in the ufc it would never halt it there’s a reason bruce lee is a father of mma since he realised wing chun is basically useless and that’s the og days mate

    • @alisyasashin
      @alisyasashin 4 місяці тому

      @@redeak8422 sorry but wing chun if use seriously use can be a death sentence to a grappler. Wing chun isnt for sport, its objective is to defend, fight n ultimately kill your attackers. My wing chun instructor, from a direct lineage to Ip man himself said this.
      You can hit the back of the head, you can gouge the eye. Andrew Tate as well talk about how useless grappling is in a street fight. This is coming from a 7x World Kickboxing Champion.
      1 v 1, wing chun is far superior than wrestling, bjj or any grappling arts. I know, Im a student of Wing Chun.
      You can clearly see who wins if you simply type in UA-cam, "wing chun vs grappler "

      @@asiangamerMC123 Yes but have you seen bruce lee 1 inch punch? He can easily pushes a dude meters away with 1 inch punch. Bruce haven't finished study under Ip Man but even then all his techniques is quick and so fast.
      My instructor is a direct lineage from Ip Man himself n he shows me some techniques so deadly that it is banned from UFC. Imagine you choking me, I can easily gouge your eyes, bite your arms meat out.
      Sorry but Wing Chun is no joke. Its not shown n use for sport because my instructor said it can easily kill someone.
