  • *WARNING* THIS IS AN AMATEUR VIDEO** Kind of a boring, and certainly amateur video, but I tried. LOL! But, you DON'T have to REMOVE the fairings. I was tired when I made the video, not to mention it was 100 degrees or more outside. (ANY negative comments will be removed).

      Exactly. We did the spark plugs swap on my buddy's CBR650F (yes, we have the same bike). The rail is placed directly under the forward frame bar immediately behind the radiator. Very difficult to access, even AFTER you have completely removed the air-box assembly and the air intake boot and two hoses. Not fun at all.

      I'll be doing a supplemental video for the spark plug change once I get mine ready.

    Mine too.
    Only way is to pull hard on seat and get 10mm spanner in and undo the central hooks, one each side, takes a bit as slow going. Use a wedge to hold the gap open.
    Once off, pull back (holding middle of seat) and up hard to get the front of seat out. This should lever the lock free.
    Locks damaged likely due to someone pulling while locked.
    No doubt this is old news now but as I did it today, feeling good👍. Ball ache sorted. Removed lock, hammered straight again, back in and working like a dream.

      TOA for life 3 ... The 2016 model they improved that seat lock. Much easier now.

      The plastics are actually quite flexible, even with the tabs. They pop out and back in fairly easily.

      Honda really did make the air filter access a pain, but now I have it dialed in (after a third opening). LOL!

    Hi, I have a request where can I find a breaker for the direction indicators? I have to replace it with an electric one because I changed the lights to LEDs and they flash quickly. I have CBF650 should have the same electronics. I know that you are ticking near the tank and now I have to undress it or is it enough to take off the plastic bulb? Thanks in advance for the reward.

    I can’t get the seat off on mine. I have a 2014 cbr650f. I put the key in, and turn it all you hear is a clicking noise but the seat never comes up. I tried to pull it, but it’s kinda hard. Was it hard for yours?

    • @abcarterpdx
      @abcarterpdx  6 років тому +1

      carl, I used to have a 2014. Yes, very difficult to remove the seat. Don't pull straight up on the seat to release when the key is turned. Give it a good smack,in the center while pulling rearward and it should break free.

    i have a 2014 honda 650f do you know what would cause my idle to not not drop below 2 rpm?

    • @abcarterpdx
      @abcarterpdx  5 років тому

      Sorry about the late reply. Could be a number of things. I know my old 2014 as well as my current 2016 are cold blooded when starting the engine. Could be air flow or O2 reading faulty (sensor is bad or air filter issue), throttle positioning sensor, temperature sensor in engine oil, or something as simple as throttle cable needs replaced. Those are my thoughts.

    • @germanshepard7842
      @germanshepard7842 5 років тому

      i did figure out why my bike was idling high was because the spark plug coil was not fully on.i bought the 2014 manual and it said to check the spark plug in a list of reason why it was idling high. now it idle perfect at 1 rpm. your video gave me confidence that i could fix it myself thanks @@abcarterpdx

    • @tobytucker8328
      @tobytucker8328 5 років тому +1

      Good question, I have my bike in parts at the moment. You need to get under the airbox and the throttle stop is there

    • @abcarterpdx
      @abcarterpdx  4 роки тому

      Missed your message somehow. I'm not a professional mechanic by any means, but I have been told if you remove the catalytic converter box underneath, straight-pipe and put on a custom exhaust, you still have to get the ECU re-programmed for the specs on the adjusted exhausted. The throttle restriction is corrected in that process (that is what I have been told anyway).
