@Careful with that Vax Euegene It essentially links the ancient assassins with hashish and the then current Arab conflicts. Black September was the war between the PLO and the Jordanian monarchy. It was also the name of a terror group that carried out the Munich Olympic killings. Petrodollar is of course a reference to oil wealth. This was released just after the first oil shock, when Arab countries withheld oil supplies as a protest - causing a spike in fuel costs and inflation in the West.
james west They lost so much when Alan left, his bass playing was excellent, just aint the same without him. However, his current band, Psychedelic Warlords were excellent with a superb frontman, Craig High. I say they 'were' great, I'm not sure now, Alan sacked Craig a few weeks ago and it's utter madness. Not only was Craig an incredible performer but a total sweetheart too.
Seems like a poor-man's Lemmy to me. Anyways, the lyrics to this track...I looked it up & is it really "Black September" & "Petro Dollar" ? Black September? What does that mean?! 9/11 prediction or something? Haha.
Child of God Calvert had a lot of empathy for the Palestinians. As for the bass issue in Hawkwind, the arrival of Haz Wheaton has given a happy ending, great player and has a fab rapport with Brock.
black September may,in fact, refer to Olympic village incident whereby the Israeli tent at Olympic village was wreaked with>>>you guessed it BOMBS...but it sure resulted in one kick ass riff...
Hawkwind can never be copied or anyone come close to there own superb music, on one occasion saw them 1980 in Chelmsford chancellor hall ginger on the sticks. Long live hawkwind best ever band ❤❤
I've been a Hawkwind follower for a long time now and I've just started to get into Psytrance.... Though I'm not keen on Huw's playing in this gig, it's Interesting to note the Eleanor Rigby part by him... * This is 10 years before the 'Beatless' Psytrance songs that utilize "All the lonley people...." in them.
One constant complaint I always had throughout years listening and collecting Hawkwind works was the sound quality of their release whether it is live or a studio album. In comparison hey never matched other band releases sound and recording quality.
U get all that going on w Brock off this version of Assassin's of Hassan I Allahdah? That's badass if it were true but u lie infidel ! Lemmy bought the farm several years ago so he ain't plowing Dave's old lady. Just Dave i suppose. Dave would never lose that much money. I think he is very frugal and not given to elaborate displays of pissing away his loot. What did Brock ever do to you,eh? Nothing. I knew it.... you're a narc! Suck pond water unbeliever, f' n narc piss off. Ta-
The assassins were an Ismaili Shi'ite sect that made use of political killing - and gave their name to secretive killers everywhere. The name may refer to their liberal use of hashish. The Black September Organization were a Palestinian terror group named after the Jordanian civil war.

The songs are one and the same. They refer Hassan i Sabbah who would ply his trainee assassins with hashish and in their drug induced stupor allow them to sample the pleasures of the 'Garden of Delights'. Having had 'Heaven' revealed to them, they would go forth as fearless killers. Knowing what rewards awaited them if they died in the service of Allah. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hassan-i_Sabbah

Lemmy, what a bullshitter and faux speedfteak wannabee. Theres a docu on YT somewhere when he meets his son. Absolute cringeworthy, i doubt if his son would ever miss him. 😂
What a great jam....
This was the absolute pinnacle of Hawkwind, what a brilliant tour that was 💪🏼👽👌🏼
Best bloody band either side of Alpha Centaurii
I would sell a kidney to be able to see this show. What a trip!
How much for your kidney ? I need a liver also

This be my fav hawk tune...and I know the meaning of this...who thumbed it down should receive hawkwind full blast all night for his crime.
They probably voted Trump and are no thinkers I suppose.
this is bad man, and no surprise its your favorite tune, Calvert, say no more
@@neonskyline1 I remember Bob Calvert totally nailing this song, God bless him.

Brock looks like he's just lost a £10 note and his resin and his girlfriend is sleeping with Lemmy.
