Needed this
If you weren't around when JJ was in college, you probably would be surprised to know that this universally loved 15 year vet, was the MOST HATED basketball player on any level in the whole world when he was at Duke.
As a fan, for me absolutely the perception around Chris's leadership style changed, starting when he went to OKC. Watching him work with the young players there hit different
Chris Paul is an all round genuine guy. Glad to see him back on the podcast
"I was trying to lead the league in 3 point percentage" had me laughing out loud. This is one of the best episodes of any podcast I've ever listened to. Love hearing CP3's perspective from his own words. JJ's an unreal interviewer
Love the chemistry between JJ and CP. These 2 just having a good time.
His run in OKC changed his narrative forsure.
CP is always a fire guest. His knowledge of the game, and his willingness to speak with candor about his career/the league in general, is refreshing. Loved the segment (starts at
I’m in my early 20’s and as a suns fan I haven’t seen much winning in my life. Thank you Chris Paul for joining Booker and Co. and making the suns a winning team again
Man it’s so beautiful that players are now the media. The questions and conversation is so much better and organic. I couldn’t turn this off. So engaging!
Chris Paul is a legend man
Love the way CP3 carries himself, dudes passionate about ball and seems like a very genuine guy.
Chris Paul's explanation of the sweep through reminds me of Raja Bell one time talking about flopping. Bell said that when he went against someone like Kobe that if he put his shoulder into to you to push off and get room that if you decided to push back with your chest refs would often call a defensive foul so knowing that the counter was to flop and hopefully get an offensive foul call. He said that yeah, it's not a great look but depending on how the game is called you need to have counters in place.
Suns fan since 93'
I just always thought the dude was a great player and leader. Then the slander started because Clippers players couldn’t handle it. The way he balled in OKC and changed their season and now doing it again for Phx it’s clear the dude is elite as a leader.
Chris not even answering the questions he just conversing and I love it

I love how Chris respects Matt and intentionally includes him in the conversation. I'm so glad JJ started this podcast. Much love from the Mitten.
CP3 and JJ have such great chemistry together - you can tell they've been great friends for years.
