this video makes me feel old .. i grew up with the park like it looked on the video and the park itself changed a lot in the last 20 years for sure ... but i can promise that nessie is still a really smooth coaster and for many locals the first ever rollercoaster it was the case for my mom over 40 years ago me ca 23 , 24 years ago and i hope some generations to come ... schwarzkopf can rest in peace knowing he me made the best and most reliable coasters out there and it's a freaking shame that more and more going out of service !
A very good steel coaster for the early eighties David. I think the first one that I ever rode was the Black Widow at Riverside Park in Agawam, Mass. Now Six Flags New England of course. Here is a video that I stumbled upon last night. I rode the Comet 57 times in one day back in 1985. There was no one at the park. I had an ACE jersey on and the guy running the coaster liked it. So he let me ride it 57 times in a row. I kept changing seats at the loading platform. Here is a good video of someone who snuck into the park a few years after it closed. Before the lift hill collapsed from the snow. ua-cam.com/video/tPY-90ynAn8/v-deo.html ~ Rob/Boston
It's really surreal and sad seeing a closed down park with the rides still there just gradually rotting away. Thanks for sharing. I have ridden Nemesis at Alton Towers 64 times in a day but when I marathoned on the Big Dipper at Blackpool in 2000 I rode it all day and all night so I have no idea how many goes that was!
Last week, Japanese scientists explaced... placed explosive detonators at the bottom of Lake Loch Ness to blow Nessie out of the water. Sir Cort Godfrey of the Nessie Alliance summoned the help of Scotland's local wizards to cast a protective spell over the lake and its local residents and all those who seek for the peaceful existence of our underwater ally.

I agree it's a real shame there are so few of them left - was really impressed by this one, and pleased to read that 20 years on it's still wonderful!
That tunnel was a surprise!
Indeed 🙂

That is an odd ending to a coaster
