Shippey "Tone" Octave Mandolin

  • This is a short demo of my latest “Tone” Octave mandolin. I recorded it with a simple Zoom H2n Handy Recorder. It’s just the raw recording with no EQ or other treatment...hopefully it will give an idea of how this instrument sounds. I used a Dunlop “Ultex” .88 pick and the strings are D’Addario EJ80 Phosphor Bronze Octave Mandolin Strings.
    The music is Ninna Nanna (Lullaby) by Giuseppe Aonzo

      Hi...it's standard octave mandolin tuning...GDAE, with capo on 3rd fret.
