This is by far the best cover of a Level 42 song that I've heard. The vocals and instrumentation are fantastic. (Better than the original). Please do another one.
The algorithm served up this, and good thing it did! This song (written by Gary Husband) surely is the best on the "Guaranteed" album, and a dense and complex piece of music. And you guys nailed it! This performance actually rivals the recorded version in some respects. Excellent all around. Naturally, no one can outplay Allan Holdsworth, but Calle sure can play too! But I have to give extra special kudos to Jonathan for delivering an outstanding vocal performance.
@@jonberg82 I mentioned your cover on our latest podcast! Seriously, it still rocks - damn good cover and fun vid! ua-cam.com/video/VjB6SNOLeqA/v-deo.html
Bloody hell, this is good! I love all the instrumentation and vocals, but I have to say that the Holdsworth solo and tone are especially lovely -- thanks to you all :)
I still prefer the original BUT that isn't to say the vocal arrangements and musicianship on here isn't FIRE!!!! Awesome!!!! Can you guys please do a whole catalogue of Level 42 songs???
Very impressive! One can not only see but also hear the fun they are having, and the impros esp with the vocals are interesting and enjoyable! Special compliments to the bass player, the guitarist, and especially the drummer - he makes the cover sound particularly close to the original while the rest of the band make it real fun. A couple of tiny things I would have improved: (a) bass player and keyboard playing sync to video are off in a couple of the shots. (b) Keyboard player could have tried to add some horns instead of only synths, I know you can't get close to the HPH but still... (c) drummer could have made more use of the ride cymbal like in the original (d) general sound mix can be improved a bit, I guess that's not crucial for a YT vid. Anyway I enjoyed! Fun vid!
I'm a bass player and can't figure out how level 42 played this live. Mark was using a 4 string bass and no it wasn't tuned down. What sorcery is this? Lol BTW excellent cover spot on. ua-cam.com/video/9OfWgl4CNpw/v-deo.htmlsi=g0dnqf2at_W52Ooe
This is just so great. The original is one of my favourite L42 songs, massively underrated, and you've done it brilliantly.
Also one of my favourite L42 songs. What an amazing cover! I've always said this song should have been a single.
I flipping LOVE this. Loved the original for decades, but this is so good!
As a big L42-Fan I have to admit that this Cover is better that the original! Thank you for this Song - Great Musicians, great voices!! ❤
