@peachey1986 And there's actually a valid reason why he doesn't want people to clap. When i was standing next to him, a women came and said to him something along the lines, that he should let people clap, it adds another dimention to the talk. His response was very clever, he said that he doesn't want people to clap because he's teaching people. And just as in a classroom you wouldnt clap for your teacher who's teaching you, you shouldnt clap for me!
Also, he is NOT speaking for fame or to be exalted. Humility and being a true servant of Allaah's, makes it hard to endure clapping for what he says. He stated and believes that Allaah Subhana wa ta ala has guided his thoughts. So if people want to respond, they should respond in the Islamic way by saying quietly to themselves, Al hamdulillaah and not interrupt his speech. He is not a showman.
There is a kind of Islamophobia across Europe. There is a tendency to keep the Muslims poor and powerless in the European society.ThIS matter has raised a kind of concern among the Muslims of Europe. Tariq Ramadan is a strong critic of these disparities. Apart from this, he also criticized the racialism of the Ultra-Conservative Muslims and authoritarianism of Muslim rulers.
@peachey1986 He is actually a professor at the university of oxford. I would reccomend you watch hamza yusufs videos too if you like tariq ramadan. Both are eminant in their own right!
@MrChickybee1 maybe you should check out the Ramadan - Hitchens debate and hear what Ramadan himself says about his identity rather than talking on his behalf.
I am very stunned. This is stupid. Is he aware of the values that rose up from the enlightment? Has he even read the koran? Is he connected to the muslim brotherhood? To call this chanel IQ2 and post this is heresi to the Gods of wisdom

Finally. I knew there had to be a voice of reason out there somewhere. Muslims *will* fully assimilate into European society, eventually.

This sounds like a Barack Obama speech...lol Uniting people not "Us and them" but "Us as Europeans" Obama would say "Us as Americans"...
