He didn’t beat odds makers. The casino sets the initial odds and the market makes a bet which then moves the odds, its fluid . The biggest winners are the casinos . They get paid whether someone win or loses. So weird PBD doesn’t know that .

Is it legal to bet on yourself if you’re in a fight? In soccer for example it is and you can get banned, look up Ivan Toney from Brentford FC in the premier league.
