I really enjoyed it up until the end in the 3rd he definitely started running and back peddling too much. there's a fine line between being a long rangy counter striker and stalling the fight and literally making your opponent chase you around the octagon because you're back peddling running away. There should be a yellow card penalty system in place tbh. Ian garry did it against Geoof too. Izzy has done it. Its like the stand up version of lay n pray to me except worse tbh

You would think after years of seeing PRIDE, Strikeforce, WEC, and Bellator fighters come over perform well folks would let go of the narrative that anything outside the UFC is garbage. Even Jiri and Kape have came over recently as Rizin champs and rose up the rankings. Yes the other promotions don’t have the consistent depth to put out card after card every week with elite fighters. But if you would just actually watch the fights you would see there are some very talented fighters outside the UFC. Wearing Venum shorts and UFC gloves doesn’t automatically make you one of the best in the world. Vadim Nemkov, AJ McKee, Patchy Mix and others could come over tomorrow and give the majority of the top 15 in their weight classes problems.

That was a good win. I've always wanted to see how he did in the ufc and Holland was a good initial test for him. if mvp came in sooner he’d 100% have a title at some point. his age now is a little concerning when we’re talking about making a title run, but he’s honestly in good shape for age. yes he’s been knocked out once or twice but in general he doesn’t take too much damage in his fights which could have given him enough longevity to put a title run together. he’s pretty much got one go at a title at his age, but he knows this and that makes him dangerous. I really do think we see MVP get a belt, especially since most of the division is not a bad matchup for him.
Dana seemed a little weird about MVP in the post-fight conference. He seemed upset that MVP even got to do his own walk-out when he said that it will not happen again. I think the only thing he said was "he is a showman, we will have to pick the right fight for him in the future". I wouldn't say he dislikes MVP, his tone and mannerisms just changed a lot on any questions related to him.
