I love sitting in the backyard (essentially an entrie garden). I loved finding the picnic table! Smart. Love the ability to move freely around this garden.

Kitchen gardens are my favourite sort of garden. To me, the proper kitchen garden is the highest form of gardening, and the most challenging. It's also the one that lays bare the skill of the gardener, measured objectively in terms of variety, quality and quantity of yield.
I would love to see more kitchen garden type designs featured at shows like Chelsea. The one that still really stands out to me was Daylesford's Summer Solstice garden back in 2008 - still my favourite Chelsea garden of all time.

Hi Lee looks good. A couple of years ago I challenged myself to create a part of my garden with an exotic/ tropical feel which in the east of Scotland a lot of people thought I was crazy but last year it looked great, hopefully it will be nice again this summer 🤞🏻 I suppose do your research and get the right plants for the right conditions and you can achieve your goals.

Exactly! Garden design is all about choosing the right plants for the right place. Checking the soil type and aspect and then working with it. There’s so many plant options I find it fascinating finding new specimens for different sites. It’s never ending. Your tropical border sounds really fun! Scotland it probably my favourite country...in the world. Such beauty and tenacious coastal gardeners too!! Happy gardening. Lee 🥷🌿

I've been watching your back videos, and saw your recommendation for a sickle. Here is Austin, where we got a three-day deep freeze, I have a lot of grassy strappy plants to cut back. bought a sickle and it works a treat. Thanks ever so much!!!

Looks great, I could happily spend hours in that garden, very rewarding. When we grew vegetables and salad crops, too much was ready at once. Obviously we didn’t plan the planting properly. Mum 🤗

I started growing in containers on back deck last year. This year a horseshoe shaped raised kitchen garden with 2 more raised beds in the centre is the plan. 😊🌿 Little by little I'd love our backyard to look just like your design, love everything about it.

Thanks so much. It sounds like you’ve already got your own kitchen garden! Horseshoe beds are great as you can feel like you standing right in the middle of the action. I use l shaped raised beds often with benches built in with my design. Have a great weekend. Lee 🥷🌿
