Amazing. Half the fun I just being able to see cards like this in person like an art museum. I am going to Japan in October and all your videos have really made it easy to work out a game plan. Thanks for making these videos 👍
@pokenick Great video again! I am now travelling in Sapporo and will be in Akihabara next week. Quick question: when did you film this video? As a collector i am looking for exact a few of the cards as shown in the video. Would really appreciate your response and if you any tips for cardshops in Sapporo (vintage) , please let me know! Kind regards and thank you!
Hi! And thanks :-) This video was filmed early May (as stated in the video description). Unfortunately I don’t know Sapporo card shops that much but I intend to fill that gap at some point :-)
Amazing content, I wish we had stores like this back in the USA. Do you help people locate particular pokemon items? I have been looking for a rare piece and haven’t had any luck finding it. As you can tell from my profile picture, I’m a huge imakuni and ooyama fan.
Hi! Yes that’s what I do. I go and buy cards for my dear subscribers. The only condition is to be a last tier patreon subscriber as I do not take any commission whatsoever.
So I guess that's Card Paradise on Earth looks like, when you say the cards are gradeable, do you mean they all have a chance of getting a Gem Mint grade?
For most of them yes cause the store is very picky as to what card they buy back (and as you can see they don’t have any system in place for « damaged » cards). Only exception to this rule would be for extremely rare pieces which they are willing to take in even if the condition isn’t perfect (I guess if a Pikachu illustrator were to show up they wouldn’t be too regarding when it comes to the condition xD)
You can bring them to sell but not trading (I mean, technically you can trade but they will base the trade on their buyback price for your item and selling price for their item so it’s not gonna be a fair trade for you)
Agreed. Though they are still cheaper than Magi overall. And between you and me, name another place that has the card from the Team Rocket briefcase ;-)
So, the simple answer is no. The complete answer is a bit more complicated. It depends on the store and the cards you’re gonna buy. I’ve observed and been told that the more money you spend on one store, the more likely you are to be able to discuss the price.
@@PokeNickinJapan Thank you for that answer. I plan on visiting some of the higher-end stores and purchasing a good amount. I wanted to understand how negotiating works in Japan, if at all.
Pricing all over the place 49800 yen for a psa 10 charizard from vstar universe 😂 unless that Kanji says something I'm missing? Then 1200 yen for a fossil Ditto, I paid a little less than that for an lp one in suragaya, surely that's not mint? Very reasonable.
90% of the cards in Toreca Stellar are Near Mint or Mint condition. Can’t say for that Ditto specifically but the odds are it was in quite good condition.

Happy to be of service :-) Hope you’ll enjoy your trip to Japan, October is a very nice month to visit the country.
The Team Rocket Full art was crazy. Such a beautiful Card.
Crazy good video❤ So hyped for Japan in 2 Weeks
Hey! Get in touch with me on insta, let’s see if we can meet up at some point :-)
@@PokeNickinJapan I'd love to meet up with you but I am probably a bit too young to meet up with you😅
OMG The Ream Rocket Full Art. My holy grail/chase card! You found it. But gahdamn they are expensive 😢
No drooling please! But yeah, Expensive….
Omg... My wallet would hurt! But every card is sooooo clean!
My wallet saw the trap coming and ran away before I even stepped in the store!

@@PokeNickinJapan I saw that Masaki Gengar for $900, that would be amazing to get in Gem MT
They put small 00 for Mario Pikachu price. The price is so misleading, they make it sound like 7 thousand yen.
I like your point and I agree actually, went myself through an emotional roller coster a few times when I figured out the real price xD
can we bring sealed pokemon products sell/trade to the shop?
You can bring them to sell but not trading (I mean, technically you can trade but they will base the trade on their buyback price for your item and selling price for their item so it’s not gonna be a fair trade for you)
¥29,800 for CP6 Charizard it had better be in psa 9 condition at that price sheesh
It could be!
Even if yen is so low actualy, that’s still quite expensive 😅
Agreed. Though they are still cheaper than Magi overall. And between you and me, name another place that has the card from the Team Rocket briefcase ;-)
Are prices negotiable for these high-end card stores? Or is everything firm on the asking price?
