Still sounds great after all this time. He doesn't have a great singing voice, but is still listenable: casual streetwise attitude with killer guitar licks.
while paul and gene were commercially trying to go on with KISS, Ace made a great solo career, demonstrating that he is a creative force and an accomplished guitar player; long live space fucking Ace!
Used to have the 8 Track of Ace's first solo album. I'd listen to that thing over and over. Such a great rock record. Glad Ace is still touring and playing his ass off. Too bad in and Peter Criss aren't part of the Kiss farewell tour, without them = no KISS. The drummer here is phenomenal!
My favorite solo album out of the four they made....funny how at the age of six I thought it was Peter Criss on the drums and even then I thought, "something seriously fucking weird is going on here." Wasnt until years later I learned what was really going on here. Anton is what is going on and as a drummer I still think the drumming on this song is amazing. This guy here did a pretty good job copping off Anton but nobody can beat Anton on the original performance.
Ace, I love you in your own thing. You deserve your own success. Great songs. I saw your show in Florida. Excellent set list. Was a ten. I was fortunate enough to play with you in Hollywood at whisky, and rehearsals. Your my end hero. Since I first found kiss alive album. See you soon. Keep keepin on.
There you go ! Ace putting the "other two" to shame ! Great rock'n'roll tune and fucking awesome lead as always , he still almost as good as when he was as high as fucking kite .Fucking legend !! right up there with the most demented of them .Love you ACE , you'll always have that NY street cred and your sound is so unique.
Had this solo album when I was like 4,maybe five loved it I would use my brother's record player, listen to the Whole album Over an Over again......I was disappointed in Genes.....co.e one realy, when you wish upon a star.....so scared the Hell out of a four year I was pretty good at recognising Every song on Ace 's solo album I knew Every note....So at eight Ma did everything she could, and on Christmas night went in after I fell asleep, and set my First drum up....I played along with kiss and felt like I was playing along with Ace.....that summer my brother became a singer....he was five years older than me,a teenager by then, they were really into passing something around...lol And I heard Iit come out of my idiot yahoo brother of mine, started singing the lyrics to "Ozone" of my Hero's album Ace..."Im the kinda guy...."lol guessing his friends hadn't heard that one yet lol and they bout it... Sorry Garry sorry Norman,my brother wasn't all there an still isn't lol.....Thanks Ace Frehley! Was born in '75,just in time....Peace
I was here. Nikki Sixx was, too. John5 jumped onstage and did a song. I never thought Ace could sound so good, all these years later. His band (Gene's band) did better versions than KISS; and good variety of songs.
It's interesting to hear how so many English artists lose their accent when they sing. If you listen here, Ace talks like a parrot imitating Uncle Fester from "The Addams Family" until he himself starts singing. Then he sounds normal. Anyway, this is my favorite song of Ace's, and not a bad rendition of it at that.
His skin pigment looks good!I wonder when rehearsals start for the reunion?I can't see them doing another album with the psycho circus experience behind them. They should do songs they've never done.I should call Danny Stanton at corlear entertainment.
This was a good show but I think Ace should retire now. Only based on some of his recent performances. He seems like he's just going through the motions now in 2023. And Ace is my favorite member of Kiss. Sad to see your childhood heroes get old.
This sounds good overall, but, the tempo tends to drag in places for some reason. I'm not hacking on them, but the tempo of a song is very important and I'm sure if they watch their live performances, the band also would agree. Also just too mention I am a musician with 30 yrs experience playing live, so there's that.
By the way, just for the record, I love Ace Frehley. I believe him and Peter Criss made Kiss and without those 2 guys Kiss is an everyday, average band with a great stage show.
It's not just Ace, but most singers... I can't stand the way they start to talk the lyrics instead of actually sing after they've played them for the ten thousandth time... I mean... I get it... this guy's played this song for almost 40 frickin years... but still.
Ace's solo album was awesome, this song stand the test of time.
Still sounds great after all this time. He doesn't have a great singing voice, but is still listenable: casual streetwise attitude with killer guitar licks.
51 years old and JUST heard it for the first time yesterday. What an opening track! It does stand the test of a few decades anyway....
This sounds fuckin' great! Always been a big Ace fan! Drummer did a good job on the mini Anton Fig solo in the middle!!
HA HA So does Paul!
Out of all the KISS solo records in '78, Rip It Out should have been the direction KISS took from that point.
The band was tight and smokin' this night. Great lineup. Ace still has "IT"!
Ace is one of those guys who is exactly where he should be , he definitely still has the goods to deliver kick ass rock & roll!!!
while paul and gene were commercially trying to go on with KISS, Ace made a great solo career, demonstrating that he is a creative force and an accomplished guitar player; long live space fucking Ace!
Killer drummer! And Ace is great as always
Ace still sounds unbelievably incredible!!!!

I was at both Ace Canyon shows. 100% enjoyability factor. John 5 did a song. Band is so good. My favorite LIVE KISS.
My fav song! The solo rips your face off!
2022 I've Loved Ace freely right from the get-go. God bless him always !!! Philadelphia USA
Rip it Out is such a great tune....
Ace sounding great...I wish Paul could still sing
thats Karma for ya, all the years complaining Ace didnt grow as a guitarist, now Paul cant sing........
I heard Paul singing this year 2019, and felt pity that he either didn't quit earlier, or got someone else to sing.
Euan Elliott zero pity for him or Gene. Greed
Ace sounds great and his guitar work is incendiary. Drummer is great.
No, the guitar work is horrible.
Now this video sounds good...

waycoolwarm Great comments...Ace is a legend and just kicks it! Great band here.
I love Ace Frehley, I am including him in my channel’s playlist.
There you go ! Ace putting the "other two" to shame ! OMG, I played the Canyon Club in the early 2000s as Ace in Kiss tribute band Gods of Thunder. So cool. Ace is my hero!
Ace was smokin'! I DIDN'T know Johnny Thunders was STILL alive LOL!
that other dude does look like JT a bit, looks hopped up on heroin like Johnny too.... Love Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers
ace is just cool at any age. rock on dude!
Such a great song!
Great live version !

"...and if the devil wants to play his card game, he's gonna do it without an ACE in his deck."
Rock soldiers come, and rock soldiers go... :-D
Ace's songs are great! Drive, groove and real rock n roll! Want to see him here in Russia..
That's a gorgeous LP, he's playing.
Good "old" GOD and Man!! The only SpaceAce
The drummer...what a boss...0:24 just in time without a blink!
I was here. Nikki Sixx was, too. John5 jumped onstage and did a song. I never thought Ace could sound so good, all these years later. His band (Gene's band) did better versions than KISS; and good variety of songs.
i like how people are giving their medical opinions, like its important.......
Ace STILL rocks!!!!
Best song on Ace's solo album
I never liked Kiss in the 70's but this man is full of skill and talent, a superb entertainer!
original key too! Nice.
Lovin the drums.
It's interesting to hear how so many English artists lose their accent when they sing. If you listen here, Ace talks like a parrot imitating Uncle Fester from "The Addams Family" until he himself starts singing. Then he sounds normal. Ace is not british lol
Peter A. Michaelsen Ikr he's from the Bronx,NewYork
2:22..Hell Yes that is a great drummer.
Good job by the drummer, he nailed the studio version
ACE FOR PRESIDENT...!!!!
Ace's first solo album was so badass. Not a shitty song on it.
He played exactly 1:1 as the studio LP.
Evergreen.
Damn this is good. More proof that, out of the bunch, Ace was the most talented
Aces solo is THE BEST !!
Funny that Ace sidekick looks like Ace without face lifting.
Ace for president.
The drummer's showing some Anton Fig magic! This live version could have easily been done in 1978!
Ace! King Forever!!!! 🤘🏻
His skin pigment looks good!I wonder when rehearsals start for the reunion?I can't see them doing another album with the psycho circus experience behind them. They should do songs they've never done.I should call Danny Stanton at corlear entertainment.
Space Man on lead guitar! Ace rocks!
Awesome! Ace rules!
xoxo The Clarences
grandioso maetro ace con su grupo
He's a comedian
everytime my wife upset me i played this song. now divorced but still like this song lol
Ace's first solo album is as good as any rock musician's ....period!!!
Thats more kiss than the kiss (coverband that they are) we now to day. sad that peter didnt play the drums
On fire!
Ace sounds exactly the same! Don't know if that's good or bad
Grande Ace...,👍👏👏👏
👍👍💯💯🎸🎸🎸
Nice simple drum kit, shows that you don't need a lot of drums to play great solos.
recent 2018 KISS expo in Indianapolis he came. HE wasnt the hapiest to be there
Killer song
ACE⚡♠️⚡
The Acester!
Is that Richie Scarlet?
Would have been awesome if Eric Carr would have done the drumming on Ace’s album !
Dzhigurda on drums?!!
If he dropped 30 pounds, Hed be putting Paul & Gene to shame in Upkeep & Performance. Sounds good!!
This was a good show but I think Ace should retire now. Only based on some of his recent performances. He seems like he's just going through the motions now in 2023. And Ace is my favorite member of Kiss. Sad to see your childhood heroes get old.
California is the first Yeah
Ace is the rock guitar guy, but he is open to just rock, which is a good thing, but he needs a sober supporting cast!!!
The best guitar player ever... Ace is the king of metal
This sounds good overall, but, the tempo tends to drag in places for some reason. I'm not hacking on them, but the tempo of a song is very important and I'm sure if they watch their live performances, the band also would agree. Aaack!
Solo yeva más gente q kiss
He could have been a great guitar player but he chose to be a "rockstar" instead.
Where did they get this other creepy guitar player makes the band look stupid.
Another horrible performance by 'fumble fingers' Frehley.
Coolest Kiss member, the dopest rockstar ever!
It's not just Ace, but most singers... I can't stand the way they start to talk the lyrics instead of actually sing after they've played them for the ten thousandth time... I mean... I get it... this guy's played this song for almost 40 frickin years... but still.
Heir Action That's how the original was done. Most of his songs have that narrator feel.
