The Lab Miami is back in 2019, this time heading to the sublime rooftop of South Beach's Faena Bazaar as part of Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week.
Chicago legend DJ Pierre is credited with creating the foundation of the genre we know today as acid house with his creation of the aptly titled 'Acid Tracks' with Spanky as the Phuture duo with the iconic TB-303 back in the '80s. Considered equally a legacy inventor and mentor to many as he is a modern pioneer and innovator, DJ Pierre continues to lead by example, whether through his Afro Acid imprint, as a champion of his current home base in Atlanta and most recently with his remix package of 'Acid Tracks' with works from the likes of Kerri Chandler, Carl Cox, Dubfire, Nastia, KiNK and more in celebration of Pierre's 35-year-long career.

the crowd has no clue about real eletronic music! DJ Pierre is a legend!
This music touches certain people in a way that most will never ever understand. Some of the people in that spot think it's just a cool place to hang out with hot girls and liquor and don't care about who or what is playing and don't even know the history this man carries.
I remember back when the very much younger crowd in early 90's started showing up to parties and most were only there for the enhancement things ( etc or acid etc) and had absolutely no appreciation for the scene the vibe the love and ultimately giving the scene a bad rep overdosing and just plain acting stupid. Was really a shame . I'm 44 and have not ever lost touch with the scene still lovin it
You're absolutely right. I'm thinking about it often.
Besides, I will note that there is one more type of "clubbers". An example from Kiev. Young guys, having made great efforts and love for this music, were able to create a club with an atmosphere that was present in the legendary clubs of Europe and the USA (the musicians themselves say this) in the 90s. All thematic magazines such as Resident Advisor wrote about him. So, this fame has led to the fact that it has become fashionable to be a techno clubber among celebrities, media personalities and even young politicians. At the same time, they absolutely do not care who stands in front of them. They do not pay attention to the music, while such legends as Mike Huckaby (rest in peace) appear in front of them, and Octave One's performance caused laughter. They feel like stars, and musicians for them are nothing more than pianists in restaurants.
