@@firealarmperson4774 Can you maybe link me all the items I cant find the perfect adapter with the 2 wires in the back I did find the positive negative ones though. I hope you can maybe help out thanks.
Where can I find an adapter that has 2 cords coming out of 1 plug and that puts out 20 Volts DC? Because my EST Genesis strobe that I got yesterday needs 20-31 Volts DC, and if I give it the wrong type of power, I will fry my alarm.
Do you think you would be able to show a how toon wiring a Simplex pull station? I’m just only curious on which side is positive or negative on the Simplex. I’m sure you have one similar to mine but only with a different logo from what I’ve noticed in your videos. And lastly, what happened to the Community posts that you made? I remembered that you made a certain milestone with the very first post that you made on here. Do you know why you removed those posts?
I have a Simplex 4251-20 T-Bar pull station, and the positive and negative terminals are marked on the wires going to the terminals underneath, but it’s hard to see without turning the device over and looking carefully. The positive terminal’s wire is red and the negative’s wire is white. Regarding the community posts, I removed them to clear space and clutter to post more in the future.
@Fire Alarm Person: I may post an unboxing video this Wednesday of my Simplex 2099-9754, which that is in honor of some other fire alarm enthusiast’s birthday which I’m doing that as a surprise! You probably know him, but I will NOT say it here. :D
Any wire should work lol. I've used all kinds of different stuff. Chargers, speaker wires, old headphone wires, etc. I've never had any electrical issues with any of them either or had trouble with the alarm devices!
This is a really good idea for temporary systems say for example at an outdoor event or on a construction site. Could this also be ran using a battery in order to avoid running electrical?
I know this video's old, but i was wondering how you split the adapter in to two? I was wondering if there were any good tutorials for doing this, because i really want to wire my pullstation :D
@@GDSilverwastaken I had to cut the end of the adapter opposite of the plug that goes into the outlet and I was able to easily peel apart the positive and negative wires and strip the ends of each with a wire stripper. Hope this helps!

I have a question if I used two 9 volt batteries to wire a 12 volt system sensor mass12m non ada would it fry. Someone said if you use 16 volts or more a 12 volt system sensor mass would fry but the one in the video was ada
Since I’m using a 9V adapter, the voltage is much too low to cause a shock. Even a 24V adapter is way too low to shock you. I would recommend wiring it with the power unplugged so if any wires touch that shouldn’t it won’t short out the device or the adapter. Other than that, it is very safe!

Jason Shelley Well, if it was titled a “horn/strobe”, the horn sound is already built into it. On the box it will say whether it’s a horn/strobe or not.
I used a battery pack from an old smoke detector worked perfectly. But I had to wire mine differently as the pull alarm had 6 ports for wires. 2 positives 2 negatives and 2 ports for the switch. It's only works properly if I connect the batteries straight to the ports for the switch instead
You were mixing up current and voltage which is confusing. You said you need a converter & this one is 9 volts which is perfect for this device then you turned it around and said which is perfect maximum amount of "current" of this device is 24 volts. There was No indication of which it was using AC or DC or both ? Also, current is measured in amps not volts ! Do you know what your doing ?
All I’m doing is showing how to wire the fire alarm to the pull station using an adapter. Keep in mind, before judging people, that I was years younger when making this video.
I learned to make mini fire alarm systems that I create on my fire alarm channel thanks to this video. :D
I believe I used your old vid when I first got devices. This vid is a really good remake!
I’m glad to hear this was helpful to you and that you thought it was a good remake!
Fire Alarm Person I honestly probably wouldn’t have been able to wire my current system with pour your vid 🤷♂️. So thank you!

Hey can you wire fire alarm/pull station/ a sync module?
Which type of fire alarm would you recommend because I’m thinking about getting one like for my little collection

It literally doesn't matter which wire goes to what terminal on a conventional pull station. its exactly the same function as any light switch.
If you can’t find speaker wire, use doorbell wire it works fine

Does 12 v work for system sensor spectra alert p2wa?
This was very helpful thank you so much
Do the amps count?
Could you do CH 70?
Thanks! do you think a converter with a 24v dc output would work with 2 alarms?
Remember to never ever mess with fire alarms in other people’s houses as well.

So im new to this. If I had a panel how would they be wired. Would the pull stations be its own zone?

This remake was really better! (not saying the old one was bad)
Thanks, I’m glad to hear that! That was my goal!
will 12 volts work
what is the name of that adaptor
does 24 volts still work because I feel like I might burn out the alarm
Also does it have to be AC or DC

Didnt Work For My Simplex 2099-9754 i tried to wire up My Remote Strobe TrueAlert But It didnt work
Is the TrueAlert a free run or smart sync? If its a 4906 you cannot run it. You need simplex parts. Get a free run one

Is it possible to wire a BG12LX doing this wiring? Without a panel
Yes it is, but the address loop (the blinking LED light) would not function like you would see in a real addressable system.
Just pull the addressable module out, now you have a normal BG-12 that doesn't need an addressable loop.
Can I use any wer

where can i get speaker wire? Home Depot? Amazon?
Speaker wire doesn’t matter just get any old wire
what are the screw slots for the wires called
Screw terminals.
Fire Alarm Person thanks! i ordered a simplex true alert and none came with the horn side of it where can you buy them?
Jason Shelley Well, if it was titled a “horn/strobe”, the horn sound is already built into it. On the box it will say whether it’s a horn/strobe or not.
Fire Alarm Person it was a horn strobe they just took out the slots before they shipped it to me. i bought it on ebay
I recommend putting the positive of the power in the pull station then to the device then negative direct to the device it’s safer that way
Can it work on a non code pull station?
Yes
Great Video 👍 I plan on making some tutorials in the future
Thanks!

Plug it into what
This is how a public building fire alarm system is wired.
Cool!!
Thanks!
In reality you just need to wire it up in series correct ?
this is not working for me for some reason!!!!???? somebody, please help me!!!
Are you using the correct wire and ac to dc converter? You arent giving it normal 120VAC power are you? Whats your experience?
Maybe wire a pull station to a Simplex 4903 9144
Anyone In 2025?

Warning: Pulling down the fire alarm switch when there's no fire is not tolerated. You must not do this unless you have permission
Do you know what are those wires called?
in public places, that is, If you have a fire alarm system and it is not connected to the fire department, then you are good.
Never do this in public unless there is a real fire pulling fire alarms in public without a fire will result in major consequences.
