If all the main events are chronicled, you'd have to show all the remaining Lords of elves and men and their armies fighting the balrogs, dragons, trolls, orcs, werewolves, and vampires along with some evil men. The whole war could have ended in one day had the Valar been involved. Still at least Earendil vs Ancalagon would be Epic just by itself.😃
I have great respect and admiration for the Easterlings of Rhun. They are described as valiant and proud warriors, I admire how even after all other forces of their allies had long since routed, they stood firm and fought fiercely to the end.
Jackson did very badly by the Men of Gondor,...worse than his decision to add elves to Helm's Deep,....ROTK made me question if he and his team had read the Lord of The Rings at all, as they seemed not to understand the themes.

The original story is vastly superior to the movie version (which was still very well done - with the exception of the Witch King breaking Gandalf's staff... what a joke) and perhaps one day an accurate retelling of the books can be brought to the screen. Can't resist to comment before watching, though I am already drooling 🤤 By the way, it is no coincidence that the battle described with most details is a defensive mission for the heroes of the story. I think Tolkien despised war in general and especially aggressive expansionism. It is important for the moral standing of the characters that they fight to protect what they love and not to earn glory and loot.

@@Enerdhil Too much flattery :-) You can see the same notion when Tolkien describes the crossing of the Helcaraxë as one of the Noldor's greatest deeds. Others would say "well it's just about getting from a to b and no enemy was slain en route" but to someone who rejects war fundamentally, this was the heroic action not stained by violent bloodshed.

I'm surprised Tolkien had the Witch-king ride into the breached gates of Minas Tirith on a horse and not one of the fell beasts. On the one hand it would spark debate as to whether if the Gondorian soldiers fled in fear because of the Witch-king or because of his dragon-like steed, but I would have suggested having him on the fell beast because that image alone is raises the tension. The only thing that would top that would be having a balrog riding a dragon.

When you think about this is a weaker sauron army compared to the second age ones as those armies were in the millions and gave the well equipped army of the last alliance in the hundreds of thousands a very hard time.

Waiting for this was so worth it! I don't care that you did remake this battle instead of making a whole new video bc you improved it so much (like including theoden defeating the haradrim chieftrain). Like allways i like the immages you are using for your videos but that birds eye view of minas tirith and osgiliath killed it, its like a fusion of a modern drone picture and an old painting, i love it! Also its so cool you are using the lord of the rings online for things like eowyns battle. In difference to your first video now you give us more background info to the battle like it was portrayed in the books not the movies and a wider picture. Again fantastic work on this one! I allways felt like faramir get way to less praise for what he accomplished. Loosing only 1/3 of his men while not only holding osgiliath against the morgul host but also retreating the whole way back to minas tirith while beeing constantly attacked by orks, humans and nazgûl is an impressive feat not many leader could had been done.

It is from the Lord of the rings online, a great mmo rpg that truly brought the majesty and beauty of Middle-earth, though the graphics are not up to date with the current generation, it is the best in quality. I really recommend it and I hope that you enjoy it 😊

I don’t understand why Peter Jackson didn’t follow the narrative of Tolkien. It would’ve been awesome to see the knights of Imrahil, and the clash between the Rohirrim and enemy cavalry.
Absolutely it's a real shame. Gondor really comes across as useless. Theoden's speech is the best in cinematic history but the whole battle is really let down by Gondor's weakness + Army of the dead.
Was it the Dagor Bragollach when the Dwarves fought and injured a young Glaurung? That would be cool to see. They carried the body of their dead king away singing a powerful dirge.

I can't imagine how so many people were coordinated to make such a wonderful piece of art. It is art not just a video. That scene with the making of the Ring showing the movement of the hammer and sparks was awesome.
This was such a well done video. I am impressed that you can show us the movement of troupes leading up to the fighting. The orcs crossing the Anduin was really cool. The different views you showed allowed me get a better idea of what was going on. Incredible video! The best I've seen on the Siege of Gondor.
