  • Whoa, Nelly! Pro angler, Drew Gill, guns it just a wee too hard while loading his boat after fishing the Championship Round of the Bass Pro Tour on Lake Eufaula in Oklahoma. Drew finished the event in 2nd place behind Sooner State native, Zack Birge. #shorts

Always strap it. Fish long enough and you will be amazed at the boats that refuse to stay on their trailers and try to get back in the water all on their own. 😂

Someone told me to un strap it and then back down boat with float off, well I watch someone do that and hit the breaks half way down the ramp the boat flip up and motor on dry land, so I wait till boat in water before un strap my winch

There are multiple reasons not to power load - if you Google:
      - Can create a sand bar by ramp or uneven bottom surface with piles.
      - Undermines toe of ramp - I think this means pulls sand out from under the concrete, thus damages concrete & rebar.
      - Can damage the trailer
      - Can damage the lower unit.
      - Can damage the boat.
Some places have signs, but it is an unwritten rule - not to power load.
I live in Michigan & have been boating for 30 years.
I see people Power Load & no one says anything to them - but they do say something to each other, they just don't want a confrontation.

Kayak fishing hasn't gotten any better... I stopped going to tournaments. Everyone basically has tiny speed boats now. Motor and 15 fish finders. 15k kayaks. Gets rid of the whole point of kayaks imo. I stopped participating. Bass fishing has in fact gotten ridiculous.

When there is 10s or thousands on the line for 1st place I don't blame them for the screens... if they had the tech 50 years ago they would have used it like they to today.

@cruzzindodge Yes and what people don't realize is that fish are only in about 10 to 15 percent of the lake. Depending on conditions time, weather and etc and the fish finders help show you the depth, type of bottom such as mud, gravel and sand and bait. You must use your knowledge to figure out where the fish are at that moment and try to catch them. Just because you find the fish doesn't mean you can catch them it just helps out the fishermen.
