Can this be rolled on... seems like it would do just as good?
thanks for the tips,is very helpful, hope it grows ur channel in the millions, because is very helpful
Can concrete be covered with Flex Seal? I’d like to just spray! Would rather spend money on that.
Will this product go over painted concrete?
My house foundation floor is made of tabby shell (coquina). Will a layer of Bostiks MVP4 be sufficient to keep out moisture or is a second coat necessary ?
Can you put epoxy over this and does it need to have a grinder run over the concrete first? Not only does the slab sweat, but also there is a flooding issue so it needs to be sealed, sealed and sealed. Won't be able to get under interior bottom wall plates and hoping to just marine tape them when the sealant is applied
My water heater leaked and I cannot get the concrete to dry. Some areas are dry. But the areas that got soaked are still at 16% after drying for two weeks with big fans and dehumidifier .
Will this be okay over that?gonna install luxury vinyl over it.
Can you put carpet padding and carpet over this product?
I’d love to show you where my floor is leaking so you can let me know if this might work. I cannot get a pump I cannot afford it.
Sorry, but I can't find this product. Can you please provide me with a link or exact name of this sealant? What size I can cover with 5 gal of this?
Now that I know how to take up an engineered glued down floor, thanks to you, if I want to put down a floating vinyl plank floor on a slab can I use this product and forgo the plastic sheeting. That is the first product you used, not the glue
I have used it before because a client who was a contractor wanted us to , but its not recommended unless you are gluing. Bostik's does make a product called Slab-cote that is better for floating installs.
Bostik Roll-Cote
@@JonesKnows Thanks, that answered a question I had. If this stuff is self leveling though, why would it not be a good idea to use if you are just locking the LVP down over it? I don't want to glue my floors, in case it does happen to flood again (we've been through two of them. Adhesive was a nightmare to deal with.
How much it cost on a small room 12x12 floor affected by super rainstorms last month and now moisture and icy essence is increasing the flu and diseases.
thank you for this video ... Would this solution work for a smaller area that seems to have repeat moister seep up through the concrete? Should we take out a whole area and start over with this product and re install our glue down wood floor?
I’m a contractor and I’ve worked with this and similar products several times. And to answer your question, yes. I used it at my house. I had one random spot in the middle of my basement floor where water would magically come through when we would get heavy rain. It would just be a circle about a foot across but it would drive me nuts. Haven’t had any issues since
I see Mapei lol - also you have to key in the glue first with the flat side, then trowel out your ridges - good job though
I have a non climate controlled sunroom that gets very wet and humid times of the year. would this be a good fix for that? If I put like a mini split in for climate control and some flooring down?
Question for you. Have you encountered a customer who uses a wheelchair full time? W want to put down LVP but unsure if we should float it vs. glue down to stand up to daily traffic of a manual chair. Second question is we have 2 by 6 car decking covered with particle board. Is there a floor leveling product that can be used on particle board as well as a glue?
Definitely go with glue down product it will be better in the long run. Particle board is really tricky. Mapei self leveler maybe, but I would call their technical support first to make sure. I always call technical support for whatever product I'm using if I'm not sure about something.
@@JonesKnows Thanks so much for the info🙂
Hi I’m trying to fix liquid to seal my treated wood boards
Can you paint it or use epoxy paint over it?
If you stop the moisture on the floor , how do you avoid keeping the moisture from coming up u Der the walls and creating mold and mildewin the walls. I need something that soaks into the concrete sealing under the wall plate
And half of these products can't even be used if the moisture level is too high in the concrete. So if you have serious rising damp like my house has, you can't even use this. Rising damp is such a horrible curse. It is the worst thing I have ever dealt with in a house 😭 I ended up laying Dricore flooring, sealing the whole border and all seams, then laid my floor on top of that.
I have a basement with concrete floor and walls that seep in water. How do I seal it when it's always wet
Make sure your gutters are working & Rain water is not causing drainage issues first Check out Apple Drains videos
That’s hydrostatic pressure. You can’t win against it unfortunately
Going to try 2 types of 3/16” v-notch squeeges, one metal with a push pole, the other rubber. May be better, more comfortable!, and faster, than crawling. My hand trowel like the one in the video cleaned up great in mineral spirits..used an aluminum disposable turkey roaster tray…$10, to soak my trowel. I am not as fast as the girl in the video! also used a rhoomba to vacuum my concrete…keeps the debris from streaking as you apply, result is faster application
Ummm, that’s a guy, no?
Hi do you recommend doing this anyway for protection of the vinyl planks even if you dont know if your concrete slab has moisture problem? I bought dunlop damp proof moisture barrier( which is probably very similar product), you paint it on with a roller. It says its perfectly safe to use then when you look at safety info of the product online it warns of many serious health problems when applying and to to wear mask, gloves , gum boots , long pants and sleeves, it really stressed me out to read that .. I'm using lvp glue down planks.
great guy
Thanks.
I’m so bothered by all the furniture left in the room.
Subscribed please answer my question if you could kindly in my other comment 🙏
I had some mold under my old flooring which was glued. Do I need to use liquid moisture barrier or just 6 mile plastic underlayment will work and install lvp flooring ?
What new flooring are you putting in?
@@Jaylowrider , I am installing SPC 8mm vinyl flooring.
@@abhishekkulkarni7454 over concrete you will use 6mils poly and over lap 6” and tape the seams entirely with a polyurethane tape, or a red duct tape you can find at Home Depot or buy on Amazon.
