He is also part of the PROBLEM!!! It's going to be NOTHING more than wash and repeat. Tomlin doesn't hire real coaches; he hires YES men and someone who can't threaten his job. He has NOT produced ONE coach out of HIS coaching tree from the people HE hired.
They are a bengals implosion away from only having 1 season with playoff wins in the last 14. Once the team Mike T took over started to dissipate, so did his ability to win playoff games. Take a big picture look since that 2010 SB loss and it's unimpressive.
And to add to this, Mike T won a SB which is an amazing accomplishment, but there's a long list of coaches that have won a SB, some of which don't even have jobs now. I'd concede that he's one of the greatest reg season coaches of all time, 100%, but he, statistically, is one of the worst playoff coaches. When talking about the overall legacy and greatness you can't just exclude that part of his performanc and how poor his winning % is in the games that truly matter. It really downgrades his overall legacy and "greatness" imo.

Tomlin has got to go. It's like we are living in Groundhog Day over and over and over and over again and it's torture. Bill Cowher didnt have a franchise QB for most of his tenure, took over a struggling team and yet still found a way to get the team to four AFC Championships and a Superbowl in the 90s. Tomlin hasn't done jack in the last 15 years, even with Big Ben, Bell, Brown, etc. Tomlin is the most overrated coach of all-time.
@ Well of course I want Colin Cowherd fired, he's a blowhard. But you probably meant Bill Cowher, who still took the team to Championships and a Super Bowl without an elite QB. What has Tomlin accomplished? Those early years with Cowher's team are longer and longer ago every year.
I’m watching the Rams game. And see lineman Dotson starting and playing great for the rams. A player that Tomlin kept benching. Running back for Arizona that is playing great. Tomlin used as a scapegoat for running game.
They really need to fire Tomlin hasn't been to the superbowl in like 15 years and the 2 superbowls Tomlin went to were pretty much Bill Cowers team. While having a never losing season is nice but it doesn't matter if you can't win championships. With all the winning seasons the Steelers had, you'd think they'd have an additional 6 to 8 superbowl wins or more.
Gosh that Ravens O-Line and run game looks so good. As a Steelers fan I just have been wondering when we can get something like that. I miss the O Line and Run Game we used to have.
The Steelers/Tomlin focus has been having a winning record and hopefully get into the playoffs. Their goal should be winning the Super Bowl. These are two different mindsets.
I knew we were in trouble when Tomlin chose 2 keep the ball in the coin flip. Just showed me he has no clue or his ego just keeps taking over his brain.
Steelers fans in the ‘80s knew the game had passed by Chuck Noll. After four rings, he went 10 seasons without one. 23 years he coached the Steelers before he finally “retired.”Tomlin needs to do the same.
We're stuck in a never ending football groundhog day circle of insanity, hell I'll take two "losing" seasons over this crap just to break things up a little!!
It's really frustrating right now as a Steelers fan arguing with people who think we should keep him. I imagine it was the same for you. Doesn't matter what you do regular season if you keep constantly choking in the playoffs.
@dustinhensley7995, come get him right now I will pay for his coach fare on Spirit Airlines one way. Once we get a different coach, we might have a chance of beating A 40 year old Joe Flacco🤡🤡
There's an irony that by never having a losing record, Tomlin ensures that his team always picks in the draft in the 17-20 range so they have no chance at getting a top QB prospect. A team that has one bad season can at least grab a star player in the draft that year to help make them a contender. The whole way the draft works is that the team's record is like a sine wave. You load up on talent when you're not good, so you then become good but don't get access to the top prospects, the existing stars age out or leave and without suitable replacements you fall again to get the favourable draft picks that bring you back up. That method does not work if your record is a straight line in the middle year-after-year. But as a Seahawks fans I have no sympathy for Pittsburgh because we're in the same situation but worse - we're in the middle but just missing the playoffs instead of going out in the wild card round.
this is always the come back about this... and we agree... sometimes its just good to change things up... it gets stale... wherever he goes he would probably do great... but steelers need a change
Let's be honest, if Tomlin coaches another 5 years, are the Steelers even going to the AFC Title game? Just don't see it happening. 18 years is even more than Cowher's tenure. It's time to move on.
They gave him another winning season so that's the standard now in Pittsburgh. They are not the Steelers anymore and it's all Tomlins fault for getting these non physical players just like he did in Minnesota. It's time for a new message and culture and if he's back next year don't expect anything different.
I have been tired of his losing coaching style for years. When I heard him say "We are not a QB centric team" earlier in the season, I thought to myself, well, that is why the Steelers haven't been in contention for a SB in way too many years. This guy needs to go.
It’s not even the fact that the team is one and done all the time. It’s the fact that on the road, at home, advantage or not; they are ALWAYS UNPREPARED AND EMBARRASSED. If it was close then it wouldn’t be as bad, but once Baltimore scored twice with ease I knew the game was over and tuned out. PATHETIC.
They came out like they already lost it just embarrassing as a Steelers fan no one wanted to hit no one. No one played hard it was just horrible to watch

@@estebansanchez342 true, but that QB position is a very important position!! People would load the box and dare him to throw. And Big Ben was past his prime. He had more injuries every year and still pushed through
These 5 loses are on the HC. Pittsburgh basically ran the same game plan 5 games in a row and failed. The Defense is wore down because the offense fails over and over again. I don't care if Wilson can throw a good moon ball. He is only 5'11" and can't see over the damn linemen. This line isn't good enough to create passing lanes for him to see and he isn't a rollout passer anymore. Why the hell Tomlin didn't step in and tell the OC (A. Smith) we need to change things up, this isn't working. Bench Wilson for a quarter and put Fields in. Run an offense similar to what is working these days. L. Jackson, Allen, Hurts, J. Daniels, Murray, Nix, Richardson, it's today's NFL. Yet Fields wasted away on the bench. I know Fields was "hurt" for 2 games, but these are vital games.

People say he drags bad teams to the playoffs. They seem to forget the killer b days when the steelers arguably had the most talented offense in football.
The thing I’ve always said about Tomlin is that yes, he won a Super Bowl, yes he’s a Hall of Famer, but the guy hasn’t had anywhere near the success he had early in his career since Cowher’s players started to leave. In Super Bowl 45, the Steelers started Big Ben, Hines Ward, Heath Miller, Casey Hampton, James Farrior, Ike Taylor, Troy Polamalu, James Harrison, and Brett Keisel had all been there to win Super Bowl 40. Which I see as sort of that groups last hurrah. Since then, Pittsburgh has won three playoff games, and even then, two of those should come with a huge asterisk as they came against teams who had lost their starting Quarterbacks late in the year and were playing backups. Having said that though, the grass is always greener, and if he were to be fired, he’d have another job in an hour.
I do not blame the Dfensse. They were on the field every 2 minutes because the Ofense was 3 and out every time. My wife was like is the Steelers Dfense back on the field. Lol

I agree. Steelers have to get lucky that a draft is saturated with qb’s to make picking in the low teens to mid twenties worth it.
Lamar was taken 32nd
Mahomes was taken 10th not unreasonable to be able to trade up to spot 10.
Top qb prospects are pretty hit or miss so ultimately the spot you draft isn’t necessarily the issue.

@@estebansanchez342 true, but that QB position is a very important position!! People would load the box and dare him to throw. And Big Ben was past his prime. He had more injuries every year and still pushed through
Lmfao even his defense is crap now once tj watt gets a slight injury. If watt goes down they are crap.

Did you get that from urinatingtree?
Hell no, doc underachieved with top numerous top 10 players(CP3, Blake, Kawhi , Embiid) for the last decade while Mike overachieved with the dudes he had at QB in that same span
The media wants Tomlinson fired; but they don’t say who they want to replace him with. The grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Tomlins record after Pat race baited and stood on a high horse about COTY : 1-5
Race baited how?
Yeah that segment really was trash. Should he or could he have won it at some point in his career? Sure. But the problem was everyone was using the argument that he’s never had a losing season and his long term success should factor into COTY ratings. The way the Steelers finished the season is exactly why he won’t win it.
Exactly
@ it was implied very obviously that he hasn’t ever won the award because of the color of his skin.
It’s a “highest paid defense” that sucks, that’s the problem lol, ur offense sucks bc it’s cheap, n ur defense isn’t as good as it should, they have way too much in pass rush in nothing in corners
Brokeback mountain Cowboy Tone Diggs loves himself some Tomlin
WTF is wrong with you?
Overly emotional fans mad about the Steelers getting smashed when the reality is it's a miracle that they even made it. The fact that Mike Tomlin got that roster to the playoffs shows how great of a coach he is. All I know is I'll gladly take him in Dallas
Steelers could of fired Tomlin last year and got Harbough that would of been epic
Here is my favorite stat from the game. Ravens ran 3 wideouts or more only 12% of the game. So they were in a heavy package all game. Steelers ran their nickel formation for 46% of the game. They literally were running nickel against 3 TE formations. It's just terrible gameplanning. Players suffer some blame but when you suffer the same reaults every year there is a common denominator.
Tomlin wouldn't be unemployed for long
That's ok
He'll decimate that team too in a couple years after getting to the playoffs 1 st couple years with the existing players
But old even Steven will work to just keep his legacy as never having a loosing season
Hey don't the harbaugh brothers have a sister who's a coach?
Maybe art rooney could have a dei hire 😂😂😂😂
We don't care. I will enjoy watching him fail somewhere else.
@@davidlang4739 You mean another one? We already have a DEI hire for head coach.
Never seen a 12 play all run offense plow the length of the field like that in my life
To all fans of sub 5 win teams who are not Steeler fans PLEASE DON’T tell us what to do with OUR coach
How about those of Steelers fans us who think you are ignorant for wanting to get rid of one of the best coaches in the NFL?
@@WhatInTheWorldSJwe don’t want to hear from you, that’s what
As a fan of a 13 win team you should DEFINITELY let him go
@@Bootstrahps So you want to live in your echo chamber. Careful what you wish for.
@@WhatInTheWorldSJhe isn’t one of the best coaches. He is AWFUL at managing the clock, couldn’t give 2 shits about anything but being right. Which is why cam Sutton is on the field over beanie bishop. He is the same coach that let Casey Hampton (an active player at the time) coach the D line. He is a weak coach
