We rarely keep fish but when we do we release 20” and over fish as well. Same deal we can have 20 boats around us and we will be the only ones hammering the fish. Love the vids bro
Can’t beat those sunken islands in that last area! I went there for the first time about 2-3 wks ago. My buddy had an old map, it’s amazing at what used to be and where the main channels are located
That's awesome! I'll tell you that the BEST tools for finding spots like that are Google Earth Pro: ua-cam.com/video/0SEOy5v-ULg/v-deo.html Then Old Maps Online: ua-cam.com/video/RY_-6uxKmGk/v-deo.html With that said, I don't think those trout are there because those are "sunken" islands. If that were the case, I'd have 1,382 other spots that would be on fire but, sadly, have never really produced. I think they're there because grass beds grow there. More on that here: ua-cam.com/video/NBT1w2NBROw/v-deo.html Thanks for watching!
For which technique? I'm using a Daiwa Tatula 6'3" for jigging and a Daiwa Tatula Elite Seth Feider 6'9" jerkbait rod for jerkbaits and suspending lures.
You are 100% correct and will get ZERO flack from me. A 12" trout is so small, PATHETICALLY small. Reeling in a 12" trout is like reeling in a wet sock. That's why I love the idea of putting fish back, especially the Release Over 20 program, because I feel that speckled trout are too valuable to only be caught once. I'd rather catch a bunch of 20"+ trout on topwater and not keep one than struggle to catch a limit of 12" trout and eat them all. Besides, it's so expensive and time consuming to catch/fillet fish when one considers the amount of time, money and effort it takes to get the same meal from the grocery store.
Nice job with the gulls! My daughter caught one some years ago, was "fun" to get it loose. Big question is who is the douchebag that gave a thumbs down? I prolly would have thrown my cast net on all those shrimp since the Trout weren't there!
Awesome trip buddy, thanks for your tips and techniques

It's nice to know I'm not alone. lol Thanks for watching.
When do the shrimp normally come back in to the lakes and bays?
This blog post sheds more light on that very question: www.lafishblog.com/best-tide-for-speckled-trout-in-october/

Couldn't understand what type of rod you're using. And what is the length? Thanks.

@@LAFishBlog Thank you.
@@LAFishBlog Once more question. What power and action on the jerkbait rod, please?
I love to see Louisiana fishing, but I know I may get some bad comments. But dang a 12 in trout is so small.

So I have caught gulls, terns and even a great blue heron, but only one at a time.
I'm unlucky enough to have two LOL thanks for watching
you want to make "eye contact with the shrimp"?????
It can get very personal on my fishing trips.
@@LAFishBlog wink wink 😂

I guess we were just that focused on the trout. There was definitely a lot of shrimp.
