Thanks very much Mark, as I said before, it's good to see how other 'proper' country folk work in other countries. Here, in my part of the UK, we haven't had real snow for 20 years or more so have to look for other signs to get foxes, stoats and weasels. Most of our rabbits are underground in the day so we use ferrets, we have to be careful with snares as there are so many pet house cats about!! Smashing scenery, take care Mark, Norfolk, UK Ray.
Really nice brotha!!! I use the same parchment paper most days in snow I find it cheap and light to carry works well, those wolf traps are huge!!!! And nice catch at the end all part of it carrying the tradition on!!! Great job
It was awesome! Paul is a great guy and felt like we knew each other forever! We had a blast! I learned a lot and tried to share it with everyone! Thank you very much for watching brother and all your support!
That must have been a great experience and that's one way to expand your trapline. Beautiful country! Thanks for taking us along Mark! God bless my friend.
That’s just plain badass!! I mean we’re talking shit trees , pissing posts and all other kinds of cool stuff I knew nothing about. Too cool Mark. I bet that was fun as all get out. Good stuff brother.
What is that paul is using under the traps and over the pan styrofoam sheets??? Using the bottom of a 1 liter coke to make wolf tracks WOW would have never thought of that LOL I enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Yes it was Styrofoam sheets for packing breakables! I had a great time! The land is so beautiful! Thank you very much for watching and supporting my friend! I really appreciate it!
Well that looks like a colder environment than what we are used to! Hope you packed some handwarmers! Enjoying following along! Those gloves on the 4wheeler-NICE!
Can you guys get weights on these wolves? I'm curious about what they weigh in relation to size and maturity. I've done some mounts of wolves and yes they can be huge. I've also worked with some smaller ones, maybe yearlings or a subspecies ( like taken eastern Canada vs western ones). I'm curious because the wolves in MT etc are Mackenzie Valley subspecies, which are supposed to get really big. I recentlydid a soft mount of a heavy furred eastern Canada wolf, but was not a very big one (73" tip to tip tanned hide), but the floof made it look much bigger. I also did full mounts of some pretty damn big wolves years ago. 1 was 84" tanned before I wet it and stretched it. I have had eastern coyotes that measure 72" tip to tip on a dried pelt. I recently mounted one for the Carnegie museum at Yale in CT. BIG eastern yote. I had to use wolf earliners, def some wolf in that dog.
Wow that is a big dog! We didn't weigh that one but I have seen some big ones come out of here! Thank you very much for watching and supporting my friend!
Just got a 90lb male yesterday here in N. Idaho, next to the MT border. Will be taking him in to F+G to pull a tooth. From our experience, that is average size for a 2-3 year old. Most get up to 100-05 here with the odd one getting to 115
Wholly crap Mark what a great video the wolves there were all from Canada. When were in Montana the locals hated the wolves. Someone put a bumper sticker on our motorhome beside our CANADA license plate that had a cross over a wolf and read SMOKED A PACK TODAY So glad you commented on my Channel nice to be back CYU
Yellowstone Park has a healthy wolf population that came from Canada.I was travelling in Southern BC and the locals were cursing the American turkeys that came across the border calling them friggin nuisances
@MarkJLarsonOutdoors yep! That stuff reminds me of stories a gone friend of mine once talked about when he was in Alaska for about 8 years. He faced a wolf one time at close range with binoculars. He said wolf was looking him straight in the eyes and was one of the most powerful moments of his life.
Very good video Brother. Great seeing you both in one video. Nice that Dan brought that pup over as well. Even pups are big! Thx for sharing Mark. Really enjoyed it.
I still have a chance to see another one! We are getting ready to go check the traps! It's way better than Illinois! Thank you for watching and supporting my friend!
