What is wrong with this picture? Here's a man who, as a college senior, won both the Johnny Unitas Award as best college quarterback and the Sammy Baugh Trophy as the nation's top college passer. Kevin Colbert said they had him pegged as a first-rounder. Then, suddenly, after going to the Steelers he couldn't play quarterback. There was nothing wrong with his performance. Throw a few interceptions and you're benched forever. How many interceptions to Roethlisberger ever throw in one game? He threw 3 interceptions in one game 12 times, 4 interceptions 2 times, and he once threw 5 interceptions in one game. Steelers (Tomlin) never gave Rudolph a chance. I wish him well

I knew that there las little to no chance of Mason re-signing, but I wish he would’ve. Had that happened, I think that there would be a real chance he’d be ahead of Kenny on the chart.
But I do wish Mason well, except when he’s up against the Steelers, of course. I hope that he can somehow compete and earn a starting job. He may have grown into a QB1. He might be a late bloomer and be a solid, reliable QB1.

I'm wishing Mason nothing but the BEST. This is a HUGE mistake by the Steelers to let Mason get away from us, nonetheless, I am hoping he is treated a lot better in Tennessee than he was in Pittsburgh. I will be a fan of Mason throughout the rest of his career simply because of how professional he was despite how he was mistreated. No one as good as Mason should have to worry about "competing" against a lethargic Kenny Pickett. Wishing both Mason Rudolph and Dionte Johnson well! I wish mason would have got 1 fair opportunity here as qb 1. In 2019 he wasn't assigned qb 2 until week1 when they cut landry Jones and traded dobbs. Devlin hodges was brought back after being cut to be qb3. He didn't get benched for duck he had a severe concussion 2 weeks prior and was still dealing with symptoms. Do people not remember they had to cut his helmet off his head. Then he injured his shoulder when he returned so he got half a season of play. 2019 also we had no wr1 and the worst rushing offense in 50 years. The next time he got opportunity to start after 2019 he threw for around 300 yards in most every game so he improved. Kenny hasn't showed much to believe in. 1 game with 2 td passes out of 24. He's the worst passer in nfl history with td passes per game.

HUGE, HUGE, HUGE mistake letting Mason sign for another team...good for him, bad for us. I'm having doubts about both Wilson and Pickett. Mason might be the better of the 3. This mistake is at the level of the '96 Decision between Greg Lloyd and Chad Brown. We were told there wasn't enough coin to pay both.. Franchise opted for Greg who was never again the wrecking ball(never made it back from injury). Whereas Chad Brown was just getting started (#10 more seasons) EVEN after being swapped into a 4-3... WOULD HAD BEEN A HOF'r if he stayed in PIT's 3-4

You didn't draft Levis so probably not that tied to him and not sure what he will become, coming off that injury. Mason played good last year but clearly not a long-term solution. Just because he won some games as a backup QB (once the starter was hurt) that does not now constitute him to be a actual QB1. I can list a bunch of names of QBs who won games as a backup and they are still backups.
Just this year: Joe Flacco. He won games. Is he the starter in Indy? Jake Browning. He won some games for Cleveland. Is he a starter? Josh Dobbs. Won some games in multiple places. QB1 now? A backup QBs job is to perform not to the detriment of the team while the starter is out. That's what Mason did. That's perfectly okay.
