I also have acne and I absolutely hate when ppl say that we are so brave line wtf that‘s so backhanded it just proves that they see it as disgusting and that they would never walk around with that but since we have no choice they call us brave as if we served in the war or something. It‘s literally not out choice we can’t help but have acne we didn’t ask for it and ppl with their backhanded comments just make it worse. Instead of saying oh it‘s ok it can happen nobody is perfect and acne can go away when you treat it they literally say oh you‘re so brave wtf😂🤣

Not a fan of her, just came across this video and she’s right actually. The amount of backhanded compliments people give out to anyone who has acne is insane. SAME I started breaking out this year at 22 and even growing hair on my face and bunch of other hormonal changes (not food, not allergies). Apparently in women these hormonal fluctuations persist and can show up in our skin until usually 25 with a small percentage continuing to get adult acne. So it's not just a teen problem but with time and good care, it goes away!

charli is so wise like just think about it. if acne was normalized people wouldn't even pay so much attention to it and would point out the features of the face. people are so fake they don't even realize how much they hurt others by showing off with those cliche words

That’s the whole point. As someone with acne, acne is NOT normalized. It is very normal and common to HAVE acne but it is unfortunately not normalized because many celebs were make up etc. Charli posting and showing her acne helps it BECOME normalized which is a really good thing that I wish more celebs did

Honestly, I teared up just reading this comment. It’s really frustrating when you’ve dealt with acne for so long that you struggle to remember if there was ever a time when you didn’t feel this insecure about your skin. Sometimes I’ll start to get used to the way my skin looks and try to accept myself, blemishes and scars and all. But then all it takes is one comment about my skin, and all that progress that’s been made just goes to shit and I hate the way I look 100 times more than I did before.

As someone who worked in the Derm field and saw all ages with acne, having acne at this age is definitely the worst. It can change who you are because you don’t want anyone looking at your face. This made me a fan, for sure ❤❤❤

@@toothtown1914 Is it redness or did the texture change like an ice pick scar? Milder acne tends to just have a bit of redness that fades but if you have active cystic acne that is capable of scarring to that extent, it's best to get it treated medically.
Although there are more and more innovations to reduce scarring once its already happened. Naturally it tends to fill itself with collagen and grow smaller over a few years (my old scar is much much flatter) but there are people who get tiny skin grafts or shots of filler to raise the deeper scars to the same level as the rest of the skin.

I would relatively feel fine right up until I had to brush my teeth and look in the mirror or see a picture that’s been taken. In shock what I saw. I think what really made it bad was these antibiotics I was prescribed.. didn’t take the full bottle because it was clearing up actually but once I stopped BOOM it was monster acne…. Whenever I could rub two pennies together I would buy “neutrogena” the most simplest face soap 🧼 and it helped. I remember I was about 20 years old working at an icecream store I saw a young lady my age I asked what she used she told me “curology” which she saw the ad on Facebook and ever since then my skin has been amazing even 4 years later when I stopped using it. Some of my friends say it didn’t work for them but it’s my favorite brand.
