One of the side effects that Nick got from being zombified is that he can slow his heart rate and doesn't need breath much when that happens. So you can hold his breath a very long time.
In one episode does explained that Grimms have an extra type of photoreceptor in their eyes that allows them to see things invisible to normal humans, like Wesen faces.
12-26-2023 at 5-pm. I truly miss the Grimm series. I’m a huge fan and I wish they would at least show re-runs on t.v.. I miss watching it on Friday night at 7pm. Can we get it back on? Grimm fans
through series Nick shown feats of pwer that are comparable with vast majority of wesen such as Blutbads. In first season Monroe was able to tear grown mans arm off which can be measurred between 3- 20 tons of power. This means trained grimm can be this strong.
Something like a saiyan zenkai boost and a mutation to adapt after facing a specific ability. So the more variety of foes you face means you could keep ramping up your power? Cool concept if they went with that
There was also that octopus memory Wessen. I think it might have increased Trubel's mental endurance and maybe reset her brain chemicals to baseline, while shoving some traumatic memories into the poor wessen. I remember she didn't have so bad of nightmares after and despite just being attacked was cool as a cucumber, unlike the other guy near her who was also attacked just before her. Could be a stretch.
An alternate explanation for Grimms is magic. We know a form of it exists. They could be early human magic using herbs and such to see and fight Wesen. Only strong warriors would be chosen for these rituals.
I love this theory heaps! Although I'm more on the side that Hexenbiests were the ones that created Grimms, trying to combine wesen abilities together to make an ultimate beast to serve them. resulting in the first grimm, which eventually rebelled. starting the inevitable hatred between grimms and hexen/zalberbiests :)
I think there was only one Grimm who’s powers got passed down through generations, there was a Japanese doctor and a doctor in Singapore who were both grimms but are related
@edogawaconan9977 Nick's whole family gets it. His son, his mom, his aunt. And Trouble turns out to be a cousin. The real problem was they messed up early on saying the power only unlocks in a family after the current Grimm dies. Nick's power unlocks because Marie's cancer got so bad.
It seems to me that Grimms are the slayers of their universe. I think that it would be cool if Grimms and Slayers were the same thing and existed in the same universe. Wesen would call them Grimms while vampires would call them slayers.
I’ve only done a little bit of research into what they could potentially be, but my fan theory would be this. I think they are an offshoot of Wesson. Maybe some type. Which is why they can see them. And evolution are offshoot nature created as a necessity for checks and balances.
They could be a branch of Royals. There's really not much difference, so it could be a caste thing of nobility and knights. Grimm were also known to work for Royal families.
We really miss the GRIMM series. I wish they would have gone on with the series. They could have made a new series called, "GRIMM THE NEXT GENERATION." Other shows do that. I hope that someone from that show sees this comment and decides to get the actors from the original show and discuss about making a new series called, "GRIMM THE NEXT GENERATION." I would love to see that happen. All those who agree with me would you please say, "YES." Thank you. I forgot to mention that you can buy the whole series on DVD. I think it's at Walmart but I'm not sure.
I miss Grimm. I moved to Portland during the first season and my first day there, there was a Parade and the Grimm cast was in the parade. Russell Hornsby "Hank" jumped off of the float and started dancing to the music played by the band following them. The crowd watching went wild. Portlanders adored Grimm.
Was it ever actually confirmed that Kelly Schade-Burkhardt was a Grimm? I know him and Diana went on a hunt with the triplets at the very end of the series but still...
@@xjizzy Actually it isn't obvious. You forget that not everyone in a Grimm family becomes a Grimm. He probably was but as I said it was never confirmed.
The only time we get to see how Vessen see a Grimm is when Trouble is hospitalized. We never got to see Nick from their point of view. It was wicked when they showed Trouble. Their eyes turn completely black, like glossy obsidian.
In my mind Zai the Grimm is a Wessen. But not like any other obviously. They have the abilities of various other Wesson and the ability to see. But my mind they evolved specifically to keep the rest of the community and check. Or, were created specifically by Magic to do this. Not sure which one would be my original backstory if it were my option.
I think it's less their eyes turning black and more a reflection of Nick's eyes in theirs. Grimm eyes turn entirely black when looking at Wessen, as Monroe describes it "Deep down to your soul pitch black"
OK, so my personal fan theory. Grim art Wesson. Nobody realizes it though. In the beginning Weston started to evolve grim also evolved side-by-side. But instead of turning into some animal it became an evolution advanced human. This is why he can see other Wesson, just like they can see each other. And maybe Nick is slightly different as he’s prone to evolution. And all the things that have happened to him has caused him to evolve making the next generation of Grimm that come from him more effective and more powerful, and because of who he is innately maybe even more merciful. Maybe if the show is revived as there has been talk about, and much of the original cast comes back Nick can become a Grand Grimm, the first of its kind. Sergeant Wu can evolve and maybe even hank, can find a way to become a Grimm maybe through blood transfusion from neck and it turns out Hank is a defunct line of Grimms.
Yeah unfortunately it is never confirmed what exactly grimms are, but they did explain what Wesen see while woged and see Nick 🙂 It was in Season 03 Episode 17, to them, Nicks eyes are completely black and they see their true selves reflected back at them. "Very unsettling, took me a while to get used to" I believe Rosalee said about it 🙂
@fenottilore7972 I watch anime too and grimms sound very similar to Attack on titan's Ackerman family. I forgot their exact origin but their abilities are activated through using "titan power" without actually becoming titans themselves. My headcanon is that grimms function in a similar way and we're potentially wesen themselves at one point
I can't remember what episode it was but there was a scene of a Wesen looking at Trubel and I think she briefly opened her eyes and we saw what the Wesen saw while looking at her.
While they never stated what Grimms are, in one of the last episodes they say that there are like 3 different types of forces of nature. That being the Grimm, The wessen and the Hexenbeasts. The Wessen sharing a similar concept of transforming into an animal, the Grimm which was shown in this video and the hexenbeasts being the ones with magical powers.

I wish they had fleshed out the Grimms a lot more, my personal theory is that they were made in order to combat evil Wesen during ancient times.

it’s on Peacock
They do reruns on I think Comet channel
They filmed an episode of the show around the corner from my apartment once. I'm rewatching the show right now. I forgot how much fun it is

I love the tv series Grimm. I wish that it had lasted longer, for at least 10 seasons.
The blood of a Grimm can be used to strip a Hexenbeist of her powers.
