Terrible, how some people mistreat cemeteries. Instead of disrespecting them, enjoy the history and the beauty.....thanks Sue for another great historical cemetery walk!
Cheers Kris 🍻
The craftsmanship of those 1700 stones is amazing! Being able to read them 300 years later is a real tribute to the stone cutters! I hope someone reads my name 300 years from now! It is like an acknowledgment that I lived!Terrible about the fire! A great tour Sue as always💕
Thanks Liz ❤️
Beautiful wild Irish flowers all over the place there.. well weathered gravestones but still beautiful in there own way . These places won't be forgotten as long as you and GV are on the case. Lovely video Sue ❤
Thank you Sue ,really enjoying all the wonderful grave yards you are showing us .❤
So nice of you
Thank you ❤️
Oh my! How sad that someone would do such a horrid thing to a grave by setting a fire on it. A real person rests there. Very disrespectful. The headstone is beautiful. That fire could have spread and caused damage to someones property. Thank you for showing such loving respects for all who rest there. Nice Spring day here, but chilly. My yard is filled with dandolions, and fields getting green. Take care and God bless. From Oklahoma U.S.
Thank you ❤️
What a beautiful graveyard. Those old stones are gorgeous. I don't understand how someone could light a fire on a grave. No respect! Thanks for the beautiful tour.
Thanks toms ❤️
No one should desecrate cemeteries. But the headstone was beautiful. Glad to see that the weather is improving. LL from Qc, canada
I agree 100%
People are so cruel to the living. And the dead. Greetings from the USA. Hope everyone had a good day.
Thank you
Who on earth would set fire to someone's GRAVE, of all things?! How EXTREMELY sad and disrespectful!! The arsonists wouldn't like it if some thug set THEIR loved one's grave alight, would they now?! 😡😡
Thanks for sharing this FASCINATING place with us, Sue!! XXXX ❤💚💖💞🤗
Thank you Nadia ❤️
A fool to be polite. Someone might have done a ritual on top of the grave. There,s a lot of that nowadays. Most is done by young people, but not all.I hear traffic in the background, so maybe some one saw something.
@hildahilpert5018 whatever it was it's not good, yes near a road and a pub too
Beautiful, peaceful old graveyard. I really liked the one with the flowers carved in. Thanks Sue for kneeling down and stooping to give us a close up. As for the idiot(s) who set that fire, I have no words…sad.
You are so welcome
Wow the headstones are old! it's amazing to me how they stand all those years, the burnt wood on that grave was a bit disturbing for sure. Fancy you having a heatwave! it's not happening here in England not yet anyway. Thank you Sue 💕💕
Old video Jules, it would be nice to have some gorgeous weather, hopefully soon but not too hot either lol
Judging by the shadow I wonder if that statue was stolen.
Yes John, its definitely a possibility
Imagine if you did that to their folk, then again would you lower yourself to that standard, top number Sue thank you,god bless, safe travels,🙏🙏👋👋👍🇦🇺
Thanks Peter
An old cemetery, long forgotten...The fire whether on the grave or put on the grave....very mean. The grounds where bodies are put to rest is hallowed ground and even as a young child and now an old woman that's how I honor it. Thanx as always for a grand tour. It is so relaxing to walk with you and GV. Glad you are in good weather. Take care God bless❤😊❤😊
Thanks Deborah ❤️
30 degrees C...in Ireland? In March? My heavens! The world's climate has gone mad, hasn't it? It's 25 here in Honolulu! Wishing you even more wonderful, clement weather out your way, too! Aloha.
Old video, that's crazy weather for us in Ireland even
Hi sue Steve from England. Nice walk through. I think the burnt branches were put their after wards. Because the ground was not charred and branches underneath were untouched. Still disrespectful. The place it has been unattended for several years. Good job sue.
Very sad to see Stephen
It's so heartbreaking to see how people treat other people's Graves. They don't have respect for the dead❤❤
Terrible now
It's so sad when you can't rest in peace in your own grave.
So true ❤️
It’s a shame someone can’t try and clean up the gravestones. Some are so beautiful, with a soft brush, just remove those unwanted weeds and brush around them. Some of those look as if someone sand blasted them, no way to see names and dates. Ty for the tour. Tc and stay safe til next time.
I agree but unfortunately we need permission from family and that's almost impossible
When as a society did it become ok to be disrespectful of our dead. Fires vandalism even just overgrown & unkempt. The old stones so many are large & beautiful. We don't see as much of that nowadays. I wonder why. It's certainly not because most of them had more money than we do. It seems back then people showed more reverence & respect for the dead. Maybe I'm crazy & seeing things that aren't there. Another excellent video taking us through a little history. ❤❤
It’s not okay. They just know they won’t be caught. Three forgot about karma though.
Thanks Kimberley
Thank you, Sue, for the trip back in time ⏲️
You are so welcome!
wow the history in that old cemetery the many things those people have seen in the past just emagan if they were able to talk the story of the history of that area they could tell you . Sue thank you for saving these people for history of the stones you could read. Have a great day
Have a great day Jamie
Hello all the way from the Caribbean island of trinidad and Tobago.
Once again love your videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
I’ve seen all sorts of graveyard vandalism but this is the 1st burning of a grave. How disrespectful and dangerous. Karma will catch up to the little buggers if it hasn’t already. Also, God saw what they did.
So true Greg
Nice cemetery with some old markers still readable. Maybe the tress and bushes creating a block from the direct sunlight and a buffer from the rain. Really cool. I find it interesting having a pub so close to a graveyard, lol. Well 30 degrees Celsius for you guys must be kinda hot but here in the state of Arizona in the USA during the summer months, say mid June thru early September the temperature can reach 43.33 degrees Celsius up to 45 or a little higher possibly for a few weeks at a time. Maybe even slightly higher. You better put a sun shade in the front windshield or you dashboard could warp and forget about touching the steering wheel. Get a shopping cart that been in the shade or wear gloves like I do. Even our nights cool down to a nice 30 degrees Celsius, lol. The rest of the months are nice 55-70 degrees Fahrenheit. days, 30-40 degrees Fahrenheit at night but that’s how the desert is. Frying pan to icicles, haha. Thanks for the adventure and stay cool God bless.
God Bless, old video, it's nice here right now but probably around 10c
Pretty cool!
Thanks Robin
That is a beautiful cemetery and on a beautiful day too Sue. It is a shame people left the burnt timber and logs near that gorgeous headstone. Some people are extremely disrespectful...they don't realize some day some like minded person will leave cany wrappers, Coke bottles , broken glass , or burnt wood. All it would take is a few day's of some volunteer worker's to clear the debris out. God Bless You !!!!
So very true
Such a peaceful cemetery. I would love to sit there for hours enjoying tea and lost souls accompany
Thanks for watching
Beautiful cemetery with some beautiful tree's..Great video Sue...Loving your shades 😎❤
Glad you enjoyed
I think I could spend hours there. Thank you for showing this beautiful place to us, Sue. I don't understand the fire either, but it sure was upsetting to see. Take care of yourself, and God bless. Love from Michigan
You are so welcome ❤️
Belated happy St Patrick’s day…
Thanks Eddie
@6:38 aged 21, Childbirth maybe? That's sad, great marker
Big possibility
What a disgrace. Thanks Sue for bringing attention to this sort of destruction 😡
Thanks Jean
30°C=86°F
Thanks Sheila
Love these old cemeteries. Sad people are so disrespectful.
Idol ate serenity ang says maglakbay sa tahimik na lugar
Thank you
9:00 strange growl? Pretty cool!
Oh lord I hear it now, yikes
Great video Sue, but very sad to see that cemetery so left alone. Last few minutes of the video, though I have to say it looked like it was going to be a ruff moment, for you.😅 Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Joel lol
Look at all the greenery and tall fat trees. Sorry cant read alot of them. Nice video thanks.
Thanks Sally
Another interesting graveyard sue thanks for taking us round 😊
My pleasure
Amazing place❤ It looks like they put the burned branches on the grave if there had been a fire on it,it would have blackened the head stone. Looks like you had nice weather❤😊❤
Thanks Brenda, why would they do that, terrible
@@SerenitySueGraveyards nuts?🤪😊
86 degrees and humid, you are a brave soul to come out today to show us this beautiful graveyard ❤😊
Hope you enjoyed it!
I most certainly did!
Please mind yourself thank you for another great video
Thank you, I will
Hi S. Sue
Hey Cathy, how are you doing
@@SerenitySueGraveyards Better thanks long road to recovery.
Need a lot of work there nice place
Yes, thanks
Thats absolutely disgusting shame on all who was involved that starting that fire totally disrespectful 😤 but apart from that thanx sue for the tour of that beautiful cemetery absolutely beautiful take care and always stay save 💖
Thanks Alex
The biggest thing that bothers me is I have subscription to say Notify me! And Nope! I have to hit F5 and then I see it. Is that Brave browser or just every browser? I like Brave because I can say sure friend I'll let the Ads play because I like your content.
Oh I don't even get notifications for GV that's how I know youtube does not do their job. Drives me mad
Looks like a bird
Yes, could be
Very sad that the place is left like this. The fire looks some time ago as new growth has come up through it.Probably some drunken youths trying to get warm before going home.Or even a homeless person. But really not the place to do that, very disrespectful.Glad your having a heatwave,we are still a bit chilly in the U.K.Not as bad as it has been, but be glad when the hearers can finally go off..Love and Light 🥰
Hi Christine how are you, this is an old video, I think we are the same as you are over there right now
Beautiful old graveyard, sad to see it forgotten. 😢 Perhaps this video will help get the word out, and some of the local people will get organized and try to restore the graveyard. What I cannot wrap my mind around, is why would anyone set fire to a grave? Yes, it was disrespectful, but was someone trying to stay warm during the winter, or do you think, that a ritual of some kind was involved? Anyway, this was a very interesting video. Thank you very much Sue, have a great day. 😊
Never thought of it being a ritualistic thing but who knows, it's terrible either way, thanks Michael
@SerenitySueGraveyards You are very much welcome Sue. Thank you very much for getting back to me. I agree with you, it is terrible. Whoever did it may well be begging for a response from a very p*ssed off spirit.
@michaelbedinger4121 I completely agree, Karma will find them while living and if not they too will meet their maker
@SerenitySueGraveyards Agreed! Take care Sue.
Happy Easter Sue! 🐰
Same to you! ❤️
12° C is 53° F. We call that winter in Arizona, aka nice weather.
Old video Joe but to be honest I can hardly cope when it's 20c here lol
Oh, Sue…I love deep carvings. So nice. They clearly have any others to know that they lived this life, that they were here, that was their names, their relatives, sometimes how it happen d that they died.
I feel sometimes like I’m right behind ye looking over your shoulder. (If you’re hot there, I fear for another bad Summer, God Forbid, please!) 😢
How about a winged creature 👼 🦢? 😊 Where are non-Christians buried, Sue?? Do you know what they did with those bodies? Or those in poverty, did each town have a “Potter’s Field” as we call them??
Those thick thick stones are so ::insert superlative word here::!
Do you think someone camped there?? My daughter in raw grief would go sleep on her husband’s grave in the night. Her name is on it, too…for when she’ll join him.
Nettles!! Ugh!! I walked too close to a stinging nettle when we were there in Ireland. OW OW OW!!!!
That one in the middle of the yews, I wanted to hug it so intensely! I’m getting daft in my old age!
Thanks! Sorry I write too much, yet I keep doing it 😳
💚💚💚💚💚 ☘️ 💚💚💚💚💚 Lovely weeping willows. The Lord Giveth and the Lord Taketh Away. Poor wee babes & poor Parents. 😢
Your daughter, ahh I'm so sorry she felt such grief, I know that pain. I hope she is OK, bless her 💔
I love your channel
Thank you 😊
Awsome channel
Your channel is just Awsome....
afternoon sue hope you're well and in good form today just after joining you
Hi John
Lovely place, sad about the bonfires or whatever the burning was. That niche with the electrical wires looks like it was designed to hold a statue.
Yes I think it was to light a statue too
wait is this a old video, 40c is like 104 in USA. The math they taught me in college was and they said this is basic and not exact, but lets say 40c times 9 divide by 5 add 32 and yes 104 it still works! I'm so happy I remembered that! F your smart phones I know the math! lol Not you Sue, I don't expect you to do math while filming, I like your stuff and your hubby
Sorry I got excited I remembered
It’s 84 I think.
sorry mate but its F = [ C × (9/5) + 32 ] @@cherylschantz9893
Google agrees
You made me giggle there, thanks for that, will I remember, nope 🤣 yes an old video, imagine it being that hot here in spring, I couldn't cope
Yep 86° farehiet or 30° Celsius is no joke in the direct sunlight. Make sure you have lots of water to stay hydrated with.
Thank you, it's an old video but boy was it hot for Ireland
Love reading the inscriptions, 'He lies the body of'' or 'Parted this life' on the headstones, is it an Irish thing?
I'm not 100% sure on that but I love it too
Estos viejos cementerios irlandeses son la delicia e inspiración para cualquier poeta romántico. Serían mis lugares predilectos para largas y reflexivas caminatas.
I completely agree
That is sad if someone did burn something on a grave they would not like it if someone did that to there family God bless you Sue stay safe and hope you are well
I just don't understand this, how could they do that
Stunning place and graves .
It really is!
Just imagine living in that era!!
I often wonder that too
Ach Sue that mst have last June when summer came for few weeks.Better days to come.Thanku lovely cemetery so peaceful on a summers day
Oh yes, will we get the same again?? I'm sick of the rain
I'm often wondering how they got those big Headstones in place at the time in very inaccessible places
I don't know, it's crazy
Witchery?
Maybe
What kind of stone was commonly used?
Just. Shockingwats. Happened
Some people just don't care
Really bizarre, it looks like the fire was probably burned elsewhere or there'd be more soot on the stone. But extremely bizarre so see charred branches piled on the grave.
I didn't think of that, that's so strange
Absolutely amazing standards of stone masonry.
Thank you ❤️
With the pub so close they should organise a clean up day.
Yes, some apple cider and they'll be willing to help
30,C is 86F you guys are in a heat wav
Old video Irene at the moment we are just rain rain rain here
I don't understand why anyone would do that 😒
Nor me 💔
30 degrees Celsius is about 86 degrees Fahrenheit. What I’d call a “warm day” … ;-)
Old video but that weather is a heat wave here and I could not cope with that lol
Yeah looked like another white willow.
I think so, beautiful
What is it with some people, Sue? We are not teaching people respect for the past and it's not an American, British thing, it's global.
I agree, it's got to start at home
Looks like someone was just using that grave as a brush pile. In no way should that have been left like that thou 😡 weather it was malice, or just laziness.
It's terrible, haven't seen anything like it, who'd do that to a grave?
Anyone else hear that noise at exactly 9 minutes?
Didn't hear anything myself x
I believe the carving on the back of the grave stone with bird's and angels is called " the tree of life " l have seen it before in old Bibles and christon books from the 18th and 19th century
That could very well be right, didn't think of that
Not. Bad. Sue. Looks. Great
Thank you
Wish someone could bless and cleanse that grave and the area around it.The trick would be getting the Church to do it, whether Catholic or Church of Ireland.Or maybe some druid or wise man or wise woman.Since whatever they did you don't want it to spread any where. Maybe being silly, but people usually don't start fires on graves.
Yes, someone said it may have been a ritual, I hope not
Isn't it amazing that the ivy protect the Writing
Always amazes me to see how the writing is still there to read
30 Celsius = 86 Fahrenheit
Beautiful but so over grown.
May I suggest putting a flock of goats to work in these historic areas.
Great idea! I've seen it done before and it works well
Take the wood off
Yes, they will have to
Good Afternoon Sue!! I have a question, I’m sure you and GV have been asked but I’ve never seen it so here I go! If you had permission from the keepers of the cemetery to clean the stones that were affected by lichen and other creeping crudie stuff, would you want to do that. I follow a few cemetery sites and he in the states, with permission people will use a product called D2 it’s a biologic cleaner, meaning it won’t harm the stones but when sprayed, over time it will clean the stone. Also another product that have been approved is call Wet and forget(exterior), same premise spray and leave it. Just curious what your thoughts are on that!!! Thank You, for all your Amazing work!!!🪬❤🕊️☠️🪦☠️🕊️♥️🪬
