Grow all facial hair, no trim or shaping, see what comes at 1 Year - then decide on shaping or continuing

I'm finally growing mine out after years of trimming it way too early, and ruining my overall beard in the process. I began to figure, hey, it's part of your beard, why not grow it out along with the rest of it.

Good advice the neck beard anchors the rest of the beard and helps the cheeks lay flat

So true! You need your neck beard for that extra density. Love how your beard is coming along.

      That's it my man.
Appreciate it - it will be a monster by the end of the year.

Im 3 weeks into my beard journey and probobly a year or two to go. Im not shaving or trimming anything. The last time i grew 2 inch long beard, i was trimming my neck and i got all sorts of bumps and unneccessary itching. This time i told myself to just grow it like a foot long and no neck trim

Dude, it’s a great way to do it even if it can feel super messy along the way

It's like a trap, boss asks us to trim the neckline and it essentially auto-regulates the length. Because it looks thin as it grows longer, because it lacks the backing density of the neck hair, you end up constantly cutting it short and tight or giving up on having a beard at all, thinking it's bad genetics because you neutered the beard.
Also, trimming the neckline is like pretending you have a full beard but it's in appearance only. It's a fake miniature beard like Disneyland is a real kingdom.
That neck hair has so many benefits, it gives you a tactile feedback concerning your voice.
The whole thing gives you additional information about every micro expression your lower face is making, it informs you about your smiles and frowns.

I've got 3 months more growth on the face than the neck, letting it grow now, at 3 months on the neck and around 6 on the face, on the plus I will have the weight of the face hair to prevent it looking too untidy. Should have done similar on my head as it is starting to get unruly at 3 months growth, had the edges trimmed up but I'm just going to leave it a few months before getting anything major done. Go for maximum face, neck and head growth!

I am growing my full beard now at 35 years old. I did cut my neck beard to much. Like 3 fingers from adams apple insted of 2. I am growing it for 2 months now. Should i start from new again or this mistake can be fixed later on the line?
