Hi everyone, I did this as a request from UA-cam and it's been posted on my patreon for about 2 weeks now. This is something I really wanted to share with all of you because I know how powerful and meaningful it is. 💜
From Now On is one of my favorite songs, together with Diamond Sky. I still can not watch both of these versions from this concert without crying - my heart breaks so much for these boys, but I am in awe of their strength and their love. SHINee are 5, SHINee will forever be 5.
Thank you for sharing. I have a lot of favorite performances here too but for the tribute I always go back to From Now On and Diamond Sky. Sure these are sad and emotional performances (always make me cry) but they also show our boys' characters. How much they love each other, how they draw their strength from each other and how strong they are to still stand up and perform like that while they were still grieving 2 months after what happened. This is a moving on concert and they were able to show how much they love Jonghyun and will continue with 4 members but will always be a group of 5.

No matter how many times I watch, I cry every time. I have the DVD from now on and the whole show is amazing and it breaks my heart at the same time, they are stronger than we expected but even so I always thought it was too early, I know they didn't want to disappoint the fans because the show was already sold out before it happened and it was also a way to honor Jonghyun and promise the fans that SHINee had and will always have 5 members, but I always wished they had more time to mourn their brother without so many eyes and mainly because There are always the stupid people who used to make them feel even worse, I remember Key saying that he read a lot of comments saying that they did the show to get attention and that they were using what happened to promote the new comeback, when and what in the World SHINee needs that, as if all their comeback were not a success. when he said that it broke my heart, of course it was not a SHAWOL who said that never in life would one of us say something so horrible to the boys. Thank you for this reaction as you said it is beautiful, but at the same time very sad, the look in Minho's eyes haunts me untill today as well as their broken voices, the sadness in their voices is palpable, Onew needed to put his hand on his chest and take a deep breath to be able to sing after Jonghyun's voice, we can see the pain and despair in the 4 members even in Taemin who rarely shows emotion in public, I noticed that Tae when he feels something that he cannot or does not want to show in public, that the movements of his dance are sharper and not as smooth as it always is as if he put all the pain in it, in Diomond in sky we see the 3 crying, but in Tae I see hisr tears in his movements in that song
That's not true though (no offense just sharing information). The tickets for the shows weren't even on sale yet when it happened. I know this for a fact cause I went to the Osaka shows. I wasn't originally planning on going, but after everything that happened, when I heard that despite all that they still decided to go ahead with the concert, I felt like I had to be there with them. To hell with work (I managed to convince my boss to let me go ofc, but it's not something I would have risked that short-notice under normal circumstances).
And I got tickets the regular way, not through a reseller. So I am 200% positive none of these shows were sold out or even on sale (because they all go on sale at the same time).
That also means they decided to do this themselves. You may feel it was too early, but people grieve differently. My thoughts are that they might have felt if they allowed themselves to stop, they would never get back on their feet. Sometimes it's better to face grief head on, even if it hurts.
My personal experience with the concerts, as someone who was there, is that it was very painful, yes, also very fun at times, overall bittersweet. All of us cried. It was group therapy, to be honest. Even looking at the boys it was entirely visible how they started to be in a better place mentally with every show (I just saw the first two shows but my friends tell me this difference continued developing in the last two as well). So I personally feel like it was something very hard for them to do, but also something that needed to be done in order to be able to move on.
I also have noticed that the people who take these concerts the hardest, who sometimes can't even bear to watch, are those that weren't there at the time, in that venue. I think it's because the collective group therapy that people who were there connect with this concert now doesn't exist for them. And I am not pointing this out to rub it into anyone's face, I am saying this to make clear that I know why some people think otherwise about this set of concerts and that I was very fortunate to have had the opportunity to go.

This concert was supposed to happen in early 2018 in Japan.
And after Jonghyun's passing in Dec 2017, most of us expected SHINee to cancel the concert...
We were waiting for the cancellation announcement but it never came.. instead SHINee announced that they would go ahead with the concert...
These boys are so strong. I cant even begin to measure how much..
SHINee are really ShaWols rock.
And vice versa.
The ENTIRE FROM NOW ON CONCERT is just one full tribute to Jonghyun. You can feel the love they have for him. Bittersweet but special and heartwarming. The members tried their best. And it was apparent, they are making it clear SHINee is FIVE and ALWAYS FIVE.
They still are making space for Jjong until now. Still honoring him with their performance. 5hinee
You also need to watch Jonghyun sing, "Si Fuera Ella". Legendary. Still crying over Jonghyun. Rest in Peace, you worked hard. ❤️

It was a concert where I smiled and cried all at the same time. The members and Shawols just released it all, accepted what we all were feeling. Everyone at the venue turned their guards down, because everyone knows that we feel the same way, and somehow that helped all of us somehow. It was not your typical concert, twas special. And no, twas not a concert where Jjong was missing, twas a concert so full of Jonghyun and love for him.
I saw the recordings from osaka the first night. They were crying together, it was cathartic and a safe space for them to mourn Jonghyun with shawols and vice versa.
A fancam of shawols singing back so gently to them when they choked up was truly an act of compassion from shawols to them.
I truly believe it gave them the strength and knowledge that they are supported to continue as 4 together. The second osaka concert was so much lighter. A remembering and celebration of love for Jjong.
But the videos have all been deleted. I used to view them, to know that I wasn't grieving alone. It wasn't weird to hurt over the loss.
Can we just stand and appreciate how strong they are to standing there holding their feeling and still being able to deliver that song with empty slot in the middle of stage??? They are strong enough tho T_T
I heard these concerts live over the phone back after he passed. It's something that I will never forget. The whole arena was crying so much. I was so surreal, so painful, but I knew I had to be a part of it for him and for them. I can't imagine how devastating and hard this was for SHINee, when we, shawols were absolutely wrecked. The respect I have for SHINee is indescribable. They are truly the strongest. They are legends and I will never leave them behind. 5HINee is forever. ❤️

I had put off watching this...watching "Our Page" MV with the English subs was bad enough. I was pretty much crying right off the bat, but I really lost it when Onew lost it at the end...UGH! Such a moving performance.
They were incredibly strong throughout those concerts. Jonghyun’s mother & sister encouraged them & were also there. The shawols also had each other in the audience.
Although this SHINee World 2018: The Best From Now On concert -- which was the first concert SHINee held after Jonghyun's death -- is extremely sad, I also enjoy watching it every time because it makes me feel like this is the one time where all Shawols are able to come together with SHINee and actually collectively support, grieve and celebrate together. This concert was the event that makes me feel the closest to the members and fans from all over the world because we are feeling these emotions together. It's super emotional, but it also shows just how important Shawols are to SHINee, and even though everyone, including the members, pretty much cried throughout the show, it was a great moment of catharsis for all of us because it gave us an opportunity to grieve all together.
And as you saw, Jonghyun will always be present in everything they do. That concert was held only about 2 months after he died, but it had been planned for months prior to that, so the concert was sold out. Even through their grief the members didn't want to let the fans down and they decided they would continue the concert as planned. I like to think of it as more of a memorial and celebration than a concert.
I'm not sure if you realized, but the part where you saw Minho looking at Jonghyun's mic stand was particularly emotional because the voice you heard singing during that part of the song was Jonghyun's voice. And at the end, right after Onew's part that made you cry, that epic high note was also Jonghyun's voice and the very last line was sung by him as well. This was originally a song sung by all 5 of the members. So, as part of the tribute to Jonghyun, they had him perform his part of the song. The haunting part is that this song was recorded long before Jonghyun died, but now after everything that has happened, it has taken on a whole new meaning and importance. And the lyrics couldn't be more beautiful and fitting for the message they are trying to give. This is why we love SHINee so much.
Because they had been planning this concert for a long time before Jonghyun's death, everything was prepared with all five of them involved, so they had to go back and rework everything and learn how to do everything they would normally do without him. I am always impressed, because even though they were all super emotional, they were able to still sing so beautifully and were able to put on such a magnificent performance. And on top of all that, this concert was held in Japan, so this song -- as well as most of the songs in the concert --was in Japanese, so they weren't even singing in their native language. (The members of SHINee are fluent in Japanese, but even then i think it would make it even more challenging.) They deserve all the respect and admiration that they get.
The members all vowed that SHINee will always be 5 and that Jonghyun will always be involved in everything they do. And during the concert when they performed the choreo for some of their most iconic songs they intentionally left Jonghyun's spot open and only filled in for him when something just wouldn't work without someone in that position. I think we are always going to have reminders of him in all that SHINee does from now on, and that is the way it should be. He was loved and will never be forgotten, and when possible, should always be involved in things that have to do with SHINee.
When you eventually get around to watching this whole concert, you will see that they even had Jonghyun with them on the screen singing his parts of some of their songs -- so not only did we get to hear him, but we saw him as well.
Another one of SHINee's songs that has now turned into a tribute song for Jonghyun, that they also performed at this concert is "Diamond Sky." If you haven't seen that performance yet, you should check it out. It's another emotional one, but it's worth it.
We have been through a lot in the last 3 years. But I think SHINee and Shawols have only become stronger and more tightly bonded through it all. It's Jonghyun's legacy that keeps us strong and has taught us all to be resilient.
You did well Jonghyun, our angel and diamond in the sky. You did well and will never be forgotten. OT5 forever and ever.

i went to this very concert in tokyo and the entire dome was in a state of bereavement. i was crying my eyes and heart and soul out for jonghyun and for SHINee. but it was in this that we healed together and i daresay, emerge stronger and more full of love for one another than before.
What a beautiful, heartfelt reaction! I came to know Shinee after the loss of Jonghyun and it was this song from the concert video that brought me to them. As a rather casual fan of Kpop (thanks to my daughter), following only a couple of groups, I knew about what happened with Jonghyun and could only imagine how painful the loss was to his brothers and the fans. This video popped up on the sidebar of my UA-cam page a year ago or so and I clicked on it. I was so incredibly moved by the video, as I watched the pain I previously imagined played out before my eyes, in my ears and straight to my heart. I cried for the talented young man who was lost and his brothers who bravely stood before their family of fans and poured their hearts on that stage. His voice, their voices, the music, their tears, those roses and that light.....I’ve never seen anything like it. I made it my mission to watch the entire concert because I wanted to know this group and their fans, and I knew I would learn so much by spending that time with them. I learned the most about the one who was present in spirit...how talented he was and how beloved by all. From there, I gobbled up Shinee every chance I got and am now a big (albeit older than average) fan of all 5 Shinee members. I can absolutely understand why it is hard for long-time fans to watch this concert, but for someone who came from the outside, looking in, I truly saw it as an expression of love, strength, grief, togetherness and hope and it should serve as a point of pride that in the darkest days, Shinee and Shawols came together as one to prove to Jonghyun he truly did well and that his spirit will live on in every Shinee endeavor to come! I wish I had come to them sooner, but I am happy to finally be here, as I love their music very much! Fight on, you brave Shawols! Your bonds are strong...there are boys to support and new music on the horizon! 💕💕💕💕💕
Alot of fans have a hard time watching this performance and I truly get it. But I realized that they gave there heart to bring us this concert while still grieving this tremendous loss. So I believe since this was harder on them to do we should give it our all to view it. This will show that it was appreciated and they are important enough for us to watch and support. This was my feelings but I'm sure it is harder for alot of fans to do. I'm sure one day they to will be able to view this with a heavy heart still but view it with all the love they can muster. Whenever you do finally watch ourpage please see the lyrics first, the words where written by the members for jonghyun. What beautiful words they sang and the harmony was out of this world. When you get a chance watch diamond in the sky from the same concert. Minho screamed out jonghyuns name. Diamond in the sky has alot of meaning to the members and to the beautiful fans. To the day this still makes me cry.
Their strength and love and vulnerability to be able to perform this for him and for their fans is one of the most powerful displays of art and what makes us human I've ever seen. I couldn't make it through the whole thing for a long time but I'm glad I finally did.
This concert, which was sold out prior to the tragedy, became a way for SHINee and SHAWOLs to grieve together while also celebrating our love for Jonghyun. Unfortunately, at that time, many who did not understand the closeness of SHINee and their fans blew up the internet with very hurtful accusations saying SHINee was just trying to make money off the tragedy and things like that, saying SHINee should have cancelled the concert. What those ignorant people didn't understand is that Jonghyun would have wanted them to continue with the concert. SHINee members knew this, gathered their courage and with the support and love of their true fans, proceeded to do what Jonghyun would have wanted. It was a very moving, loving, and thoughtful way for Jonghyuns hyungs and fans to send off their brother's spirit.

Normally I don’t watch reaction videos of From Now On. I have a lot of memories attached to that concert - I didn’t attend but a friend did. But with the anniversary of Jjong’s passing coming up next week, he’s been on my mind a lot lately. That said, I watched this because I felt like you’re one of the few people who would react respectfully and I wasn’t let down. If you have an open, respectful heart, I don’t think there’s any wrong time to watch this song on your journey. Especially with new fans now that SHINee’s back in the studio. It’s good to have at least this much context before their next comeback. Their last comeback had this moment written all over it in 2018 and it was just a really hard year. But i think it’s important for new fans to know who Jonghyun was and his role in the group and the bond that is forever there with members and fans. I’m grateful that there is almost 10 full years of content available for people to watch. In that way, even new fans can grow to love him. He hosted a radio program daily for 3 years and I listened to it almost daily at work during that time. It’s strange to not have him. But I hope lots of people will continue remembering him and lifting up the music he was so passionate about writing. And supporting SHINee through whom his memory lives on. I can't believe I am watching this again with you.. It was very difficult for me to watch this and I can't help but cry. I still remember that moment that all of us in our household were crying and it was hard to accept during that time. Being a Shawol I don't know how I survived.. I just kept on watching the rest, but deep within me it was really really difficult.. Until now, it was even harder to listen to his solo music. I can only listen to SHINee (5 of them together), but because (before) every night his solo music was my nightly lullaby when he was still with us, how can you expect me to listen after that? It pains me so much as if I lost my very own blood and closed family.. But it all thanks to Shawols who've been also my strength, and SHINee who've been strong and always with us.. I always feel his presence even if I see four people on stage.. His legacy will always remain and last forever and for as long as SHINee are still there giving us music, Jonghyun will also be there.

So glad you reacted to this. It is hard to not shed a tear or two huh? In 2018, I was randomly surfing you tube and came across the death of Jonghyun and through that discovered Shinee and Kpop. It is very sad his story. He was a tortured soul who found this world was not for him. RIP Jonghyun.
