Ranking All The Roller Coasters At Six Flags Great Adventure (Jackson, NJ)

- **OFFICIAL - JERSEY DEVIL COASTER HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL 2021**
Six Flags Great Adventure is home to some okay, some good, and some legendary roller coasters. I would say their overall coaster lineup is one of the best in the Six Flags chain, and especially once Jersey Devil opens up, Six Flags Great Adventure will have a fantastic 1-2 punch. With 12 roller coasters to choose from, and that number jumping up to possibly 14, once Jersey Devil opens up and Road Runner Railway gets rebuilt (who knows what’s going on with that) - they will have the 3rd biggest coaster collection in their entire chain, tying themselves with Six Flags Over Texas.

i love when rollercoasters have over the shoulder bars idk why i just feel more secure
I do too
IKRRR OMFG I WILL NOT GO ON A ROLLERCOASTER WITH NO OVER SHOULDER BARS LMAOOOO
Nah thats what makes el toro #1. The intense ride with only lap bars making your whole upper body free. So much more thrilling
Ikr because there is a seatbelt in case the hydraulics fail
@@crockadeliofficalaccount7848 EL TORO IS SOO SAFE AND FUN
I think we both see family coasters differently since we have kids and can see how much fun it is for them
Having kids can slow you down at a park but it can also open your eyes to the breadth that some parks have to offer. I'm sure that for you Goldrusher, Revolution and Ninja have a new found appeal because of your daughter. I find myself riding Fire Chaser Express and Dragon Flyer more frequently because of my kids and it also helps me appreciate coasters like Tennessee Tornado more. And when we travel I always make sure to ride the mine train or old classic wooden coasters because the kids can ride them and it makes for a totally different experience riding with a kid.
I don't have kids but i do have my little brother(s) and little sister which make me appreciate riding family coasters with them and seeing them progress to the larger rides (which one has done already)
Ehhh. My older brother is a chicken. In August I am going alton towers
@@ragingbulltaking268 im going to thorpe park next wk
Ok
Nitro is possibly my favorite ride, i think ever. it's a long ride, and a good mix of fun and thrills imo
I definitely cosign that El Toro is my favorite rollercoaster! Never disappointed when I ride it! My second is Nitro and then Kingda Ka. Good thing I have a season pass!!
What days are the free select guest days for the Superman season pass ? Pls reply
Not sure, why don't you check with six flags?
SFGAD is my home park and I agree with everything on this list
Same. I would just switch Bizzaro and Superman
This is my home park as well..
Same
Same I can't wait for it to open tm
Me too
Great video! Always nice to see someone else’s opinions about Great Adventure and it’s coasters.
Love this park, I’m so lucky to have this as my home park!
Hell yeah 🥃
Same!
SAME!
Same!
For real. Millstone/Jackson, here👍👍👍
You have no idea how long I’ve been waiting for a SFGAV coaster ranking for 2020. Great video!
Great list! Can’t wait to finally go back on Friday! Here’s my list
13. Roadrunner Railway
12. Harley Quinn’s Crazy Train
11. Runaway Mine Train
10. The Dark Knight
9. Skull Mountain
8. The Joker
7. Green Lantern
6. Superman: Ultimate Flight
5. Batman: The Ride
4. Bizarro
3. Nitro
2. Kingda Ka
1. El Toro
Do you know if the joker is open?
Yes Joker is open
i’d argue nitro is better, only because more space and it’s a little less clunky
El toro is too bumpy and it also hurts other than that that’s a good list
@@backagainnnn the roughness really doesn’t bother me so that’s why it’s my favorite.
Great Adventure is one of my favorite parks! Great video!
I think Nitro, Kingda Ka, and El Toro would be at the top of everyone's lists in various orders. I can see each one being the best on various days. Nothing beats the few seconds of the launch of Kingda Ka, the ejector airtime of El Toro, and the great pacing and open trains of Nitro. I was lucky to spend my teenage years living nearby and riding those three coasters over and over again.
The last time I was this early Vortex was the tallest coaster.
Last time I was here big dipper was.
Last time I was here this early Loch Ness monster was the tallest coastet
Roller Coaster Addict last time I was this early I didn’t see a bunch of idiots debating over something nobody cares about
Ughhhh.....El Toro, my number one bucket list coaster that I couldn't ride earlier this month, since I had to cancel my whole trip due to...ya know. I'm itching to ride it so bad!!!
Get over there soon then 👍
Come during July! I'm going soon (70% July 10th) and excited to get the remaining credits I didn't get before
def get on it. prepare for the first three drops. the chain lift is very fast and it will catch you off guard. and you have NO time to prep
It’s hurts not good bozzoro is top 2 king da ka 1 nitro 3
Going to SFGA in a couple weeks! Our goal is to marathon Nitro and Bizzaro, get on Kingda Ka before it breaks down, and get a couple great rides on El Toro!
I, for the most part, agree with this list. A couple changes I'd make, is I would move Superman to 6 (flying coasters just aren't my thing but I still have an appreciation for this ride and its awesome pretzel loop), put Batman at 5, Move Kingda Ka down to 4, and put the park's most underrated coaster, Bizzaro, up to 3. Nitro and El Toro remain my #2 and #1 respectively. I consider myself lucky to have SFGA as my home park and I can't wait for Jersey Devil to open next year.
tip for marathoning nitro: if there is long lines they usually let you get on the ride in empty available seats after a ride so we just marathon that way
This is my home park and I agree 100% with this list! On point!
Can’t find the video I wanted so I’ll put it here: Although the future looked inevitable it appears that a new owner has come forward and is taking action to save and reopen fantasy island in the summer of 2021. Not much is known as of the changes being made but they plan to be releasing a 5 year plan soon
This park has the best coaster collection in the 6 Flags chain. Maybe it's close or equal to Magic Mountain's but Great Adventure is overall the better park. Hopefully after Jersey Devil they will build a Giga Coaster.
ive rode on every one of these rides and honestly the joker was the scariest. only becuase of the you feel because your constantly spinning and fliiping while going down drops. also i love the dark night
watching this and just missing all the rides 😭 normally i’d be at the park at this time of the year, it’s crazy ! ty for this awesome vid!
@Fernando Cepeda depends on if you like roller coasters or not , as there’s a lot there ! my fav ride is nitro and i usually go on at night! but there are a bunch of other attractions there :)
@@Jarogoat i get on every one so if you could i’d suggest getting on all ! superman sometimes shakes a bit so you get kinda dizzy but that’s it !
Watching this video while waiting to go tmrw. Haven't been there in 2 years and im so excited
@@Jarogoat all u have to know is ur going to have the time of your life there
And now, in the middle of kingda ka is the drop of doom that is the tallest drop down coaster I went on it like three times. It’s so fun and enjoyable.
I love your ranking! I really miss Rolling Thunder ..
This looks like a solid countdown for the park (Since Jersey Devil isn't open yet, or else it'd come in at top 2 or 3). I was hoping to go this year for the 1st time in almost 40 years, but life is what it is.
such a well done video!!! FINALLY, a person agreeing el toro is #1! idk, nitro is super fun but to me is a bit boring. also wish it had a seatbelt lol. el toro is so much fun and has fantastic airtime. the feeling in your stomach from those drops is to die for!! i am so disappointed with green lantern. road it when it first opened and again recently. gave me the absolute worst headache ever. scream machine also gave me a headache, but i definitely liked that much better. i actually have a POV on ride from a few days before it closed haha i should upload that. batman: the ride is a good ride, but i get pretty dizzy on it. its also pretty short. bizarro is great too, but i recently went for the first time in YEARS and had no idea they removed the bizarro theme music! i was so disappointed even though it was suuppper loud. ive ridden both TTD and KK. TTD is definitely really cool with only a lap bar and beautiful view but of course ill be bias because SFGA is my home park. its nice to hold that record of tallest coaster still. also, harley quinn used to be called blackbeards lost treasure train :) i had no idea they renamed it!
Wow I would love a wing coaster at great adventure instead of green lantern lol, or at least just sit down trains. I don’t think B&M would do this but it would be great to have hulk/Kumba style sit down trains, would be 100% better. Great list though! I can’t wait to get back here soon!
eh i think it’s nice because it’s a cool coaster because its semi rare and probably will be very in some time
My favorites at this park are Nitro, Bizarro, Batman and Kingda Ka. I wanted to love El Toro, but I had a neck injury years ago and it is just too rough for me.
Yup! Your #1 and #2 are absolutely correct. El Toro is just perfect.
I haven’t been to Great Adventure since 2004…
Last time I was there, Medusa (which I believe eventually
became Bizarro) was the new sensation and man did it snatch my soul lol…
I want to make it back just to ride El Toro and brave Kingda Ka. Btw Runaway Mine Train was the very first coaster I ever rode, when my grandfather took me on it as a 7 yr old in 1987.
Speaking of Green Lantern, whenever I've ridden it; I have to adjust my balls before and after I get in line! I wouldn't mind seeing it become a sitdown/wing coaster (I mean the latter could be done?)
edit: I will say that while the Dark Knight theming is lacking; at least for a few moments you get out of the hot sun in summer/cold nights at HITP/FF. Same with Skull Mountain.
And speaking of indoor roller coasters, I mean frick I think there will come a point where an indoor wooden roller coaster will be built.
Same! The seat hurts so much!!!
Making it a wing coaster can not be done. The catwalks are not wide enough for the trains, the station would have to be changed. But the biggest flaw with the idea is that the clearance would not work. There are a few points where the train gets pretty close to other track pieces and the ground already. With a super wide Wing Coaster train you will definitely hit them.
i like the ride because it is pretty fun to be standing so idk it’s unique and while it hurts it’s rewarding as a sorta rare coaster
El toro is my fav also my first time I went on it I was so scads because it’s a street down drop but after it it is so fun :)
my first rollercoaster at six flags was nitro and i wasnt scared at all and green lantern was my first upside down coaster and i was so scared but i had so much fun overall. too bad i was only able to get three thrill rides in. batman was super fun but i want to experience it in the front row
I love six flags nj I live 51 mins away from it
I have rode on El Toro about for time and hands down the best roller coaster I have ever rode in my entire lifetime the drop isn’t saying the adrenaline is so joyful and it is an amazing roller coaster one of the best
If you want a fun roller coaster with lots of air time, try the Phoenix at Knoebel's. The camel backs on the return are about 50/50 ass to air ratio. The seat meets you as you are coming down and doesn't spank you. BTW El Toro for the win at SFGA
Phoenix is one of my favorite coasters of all time!
Bizzaro is my favorite ride in the park
I went here when I was seven I live in Massachusetts btw, I would love to go here again as I was too young for any of the intense rides here IF I go back soon I will ride everything maby besides king da ka
I know im super late but ive never been on any roller coasters other than mount everest in Disney what rides would you think are scary and fun
Jersey Devil is a way bigger tease than the Chiller's "debut" in 1997. Damn you, Great Adventure...you really outdid yourself
the funniest thing is that they already have jersey devil merchandise out in the stores LMFAO. i went to this park yesterday.
My neighbors remember when The Chiller opened in '97/'98. They couldn't wait to ride it!
The park opens in July 4th I can’t wait!
im watching this while on my way to the park!!
Hopefully you're not driving
SFGA & Busch Gardens Williamsburg are my 2 bucket list parks.
Nitro and el toro are the best in the whole park... I can go there just to ride those 2 rides all day
Same
I have yet to ride Kingda Ka, it was closed when I visited this park last summer (I also haven't ridden Top Thrill).
But, I rode El Toro 8 times, and it just has to be the best coaster I've ever been on.
Everyone says El Toro is their favorite, I can see why it’s very intense, however my experience had a lot of head banging after the ride.
That is the longest train I’ve ever seen jeez
El Toro was my number 1 Wooden Coaster, but it was just narrowly dethroned by Texas Stingray at SeaWorld San Antonio.
Interesting pick!
Great Adventure is my home park, i think this is a pretty good list. i would switch up a few things, mainly i would swap nitro and kingda ka, and put ka as number two, but im always moving things around every time i go. but great video
JD as of 7/11/21 still not opened. We were there for 6 days
I went on the skull mountain ride, and it hit me on the head on the ceiling the first time I went on it, lmao😭. I haven’t gone on it since tbh
El Toro is 14 FYI
GA is my home park and I love it good vid
Went here a few days ago. Of course el Toro devil and bizarro were closed. Although bizarro opened at like 8:30 but there was no flames. Also kingda ka had a roll back so it was closed for a bit too
5:59 in love skull mountain
The last time I went on green lantern the operator made my restraint too high so my heels weren’t on the floor so while I was struggling to touch the ground my feet felt like they were being ripped apart
Green Lantern is so underrated, it's pretty smooth with a bit of a rattle and has some crazy intensity. I'm fine with the trains and the only uncomfortable factor is my legs being numb sometimes. It was hauling yesterday, didn't slow for a sec. I can't believe you placed it so low, but I know a lot of people do
i rode it and it felt like all the blood went straight to my legs and they were abt to pop, horrible experience even with there being no wait at all
@@ariarmaos i love the force, i could see it being a bit much for some people though.
I personally enjoyed it, I just went today and after it was over felt great. It was terrifyingly enjoyable. Only issue is that my legs felt sore afterwards like with Superman's roller coaster ride.
@@ChristopherLuna. it’s a lot on your legs, but you have to position yourself so it’s not painful. make sure not to sit on the bar, for one. it’s pretty damn intense, the positive gs are strong and there’s some weird airtime in the back row. i love it, but unfortunately i’m mostly alone on rhat
Went on it this summer and I couldn’t stand the head banging it got it was bad. Also the legs were uncomfortable but the head was the worst for sure
Let’s hope when I go tomorrow the first time for 2020 the weather listens I’d rather have it be cloudy but not rainy
I was going to universal studios in Orlando cuz I’m from Florida but the flight to New Jersey and the tickets were cheaper than Orlando and uneiversl together and this was a lot more fun
I prepared myself. I knew you wouldn't have Green Lantern in its rightful # 4 spot. That's okay. I know us stand-up coaster fans are a dying breed. Nitro is my 3rd favorite of the 8 B&M inverts I've ridden. I thought it was a great hyper, but I also only see B&M hypers as supporting coasters, so I have it in the # 5 spot. Bizarro was my biggest surprise. With how bad Scream at SFMM is, I didn't expect Bizarro to become my favorite floorless & my 3rd favorite coaster in the park.
4:12 what’s a roller cooster
2:41 my last visit to the park was last October during fright fest. The pre show for the ride did not play, I’m not sure if they have discontinued it or if it was because it was fright fest and it would speed up ride operations, as the park was quite busy that day, and even with the platinum flash pass I had that day, the wait times could be super long
Pre show was stopped due to Covid as you were not allowed to have group stand in close proximity.
Heather Burns yes but this particular visit I was referring to was in October 2019 during Fright Fest, pre COVID. Fright Fest brings huge crowds so it might’ve been a crowd control thing
Your rankings were perfect.
Thank you!
4:20 I remember when this was called black beard’s pirate adventure
*Blackbeard's Lost Treasure Train. Good times riding that as a kid.
Amazing video!
I love that this is my home park
I can't even decide if Hersheypark or Great Adventure is my home park
The mine train is extremely jerky. I went on it with my uncle's girlfriend and we have whipped around with these girls behind us that were bragging about going on king da ka. In the end, we were laughing so hard because we were constantly getting whipped around. LOL
I went three days agi and it was ok el toro and hersy devil were closed and superman closed for a couple hours when i went also king lda ka closed for a bit to
nitro and bizarro are definitely my favorites but I haven't been on kingda ka
Bro I rode joker yesterday and my head kept slamming against the seat. But I might right again since it’s different every time
they closed it, no?
Thanks for noting that about green lantern some people try to sit down and end up getting banged around the entire ride and then call it bad those people tbh are just annoying like yeah green lantern would hurt your feet and your calves but it is worth it
I literally almost fell out of nitro
You probably didn't
well, it's closed right now due to faulty restraints, so...
@@icedyams wait rlly for how long me and my family were planing to go next week just to find out el toro and now nitro is closed
@@sheffjesus5420 idk when it'll open, but just letting you know he log flume and joker are also closed because of injuries
@@icedyams your lying, literally went the day you commented everything was open even nitro
hey, if anyone could answer this i would be more than pleased. I purchased a season pass at six flags new england, does this pass also work for six flags great adventure?
It depends on the level of pass you purchased
I have to say I was actually surprised to see how Runaway Mine Train wasn't at the very back of the list. I've always been told that it's pretty rough, especially for a mine train roller coaster. I'am not surprised about Green Lantern though. I've never experienced that ride for myself and I sometimes wonder if people overreact when it comes to that ride but I have seen other rankings of these coasters and some of them have also ranked that coaster pretty low as well.
I have Green Lantern at # 4 in the park. If you can situate yourself & the perch correctly, it's an excellent and very fun ride. If you don't get things situated well, then yikes.
nice scenery and it’s very old. plus has some pretty nice elements
I like your Ranking
When I went to the park there was no Harlequin ride
I came all the way over there a few weeks ago only for el toro to be closed so they could investigate the partial derailment 😭 nitro was so much fun though
and it will be closed most likely for the rest of the year :(
Nitro has no over the shoulder harness and is way more fun
Coming from Cali I’m so sad they don’t have X2!!!!
My updated list for 2021:
14.) Lil Devil (RR express)
13.) The Dark Knight
12.) Harley Quinn
11.) Joker
10.) Runaway Mine Train
9.) Skull Mountain (back seat)
8.) Green Lantern (2nd or 3rd row)
7.) Kingda Ka
6.) Superman: Ultimate Flight
5..) Bizzaro
4.) Jersey Devil
3.) Batman:The Ride
2.) El Toro
1.)Nitro
Is this favorite list or is it in your opinion the best coasters list
@@jada8047 still my least favorite to my favorite. Since Medusa is still the same experience just a rethemed, it is no change.
for me i have to agree with this list
Surprised green lantern is above harley quinn, and also Now thinking about it (never been on green lantern, scared of the height but will prob go on it bc was on bizarro) it would seem terrifying to go upside down standing up
Love how they purchase a lot of B&Ms but where is the GCI or RMC wooden!
I knew sea world had the best invert clone
if your short but still allowed on rides I wouldn't recommend green lantern, it hurts a lot with the restraints very uncomfortable around legs,
The ride I would recommend is nitro and kingda ka also zumanjaro The ride in the middle of kingda ka
idk why but i didn’t feel any air time and i was in the very back
just rode all the roller coasters in one day
(EL TORO FOR THE WIN)
Now as of 2022 the park changed the theme and everything for Bizzaro the ride is now called Medusa instead of Bizzaro.
Is the park open now and can u do a up to date walk around wit new features
I will when I get back over to SFGADV this year.
I’m going to be honest nitro is personally my favorite. El Toro front row is a great place on the coaster but I definitely regret going in the back because now with COVID the direct u which row to go in but personally el toro is in my top 5 with out a doubt. Top 3 smoothest coasters in Great Adventure is 3. Joker 2. Bizzaro and 1. Nitro. In my opinion. Green lantern squishes my balls so hard and my restrains were super lose over the shoulders. Bizzaro is 100% worth the wait because it’s always a 20 to 39 minute wait. King da ka I have never rode so idk run away mine train is a very rough coaster especially when you go in circles close to the floor. Skull mountain is the best indoor roller coaster in the park in my opinion. Batman is an awesome and slightly smooth roller coaster if your close to the front. Superman is the best flying coaster I have ever known.
I was at Six Flags monday and didn’t have a good experience on El Toro or Green Lantern.
Oh I'm sorry to hear
Dark Knight terrifies me around the curves
I think Superman ultimate flight is kind of like a family coaster minus the pretzel loop
nah it’s a little to over the top.
Joker is very thrilling you really should ride it
I just moved to NY from FL and I'm really excited to live kinda nearby from a SixFlags park. My favorite so far always has been X2 in CA, do any of these ones match or surpass that one? I cannot wait to go next summer.
Which Six Flags park are you near by?
@@XscreamThrills I'm in NYC rn so I think the one in Trenton is the closest one
El Toro, Nitro, and the son Jersey Devil would be worth checking out
@@XscreamThrills thanks so much for the info!
SFGA has nothing like X2 (which I hated). Superman at SFGA is a lot like Tatsu at Magic Mountain. IMHO Nitro at GA is better than any steel coaster at MM and El Toro at GA is a bit better than Twisted Colossus at MM, if you consider both of them to be hybrids. Kingda Ka at GA is better than Superman at MM because it''s higher and is a full track. MM is better than GA in the middle tier because it has more quantity. Overall MM is just barely the better "all day" park simply because it has more coasters (and better food), but among the very best rides GA is better, and Jersey Devil seems like it will also be a top-notch coaster at GA.
BTW depending on where you live in NY, Dorney Park in PA might be an alternative, which has a lot of good middle tier rides and is owned by the same company that owns Cedar Point. The problem with Dorney is that they really don't have any land to expand on, as it's surrounded by suburbia. Drive a bit farther in PA and you can also get to Hershey Park and Knoebel's, both totally worth a visit.
Where do Zumanjaro and Wonder Woman rank among the coasters here? Also, I’m visiting in August for the first time, and I’m wondering if El Toro is getting a little Over Hyped. Is that possible?
I don't El Toro is getting over-hyped. Its that great!
XscreamThrills Wow sounds awesome
Im the same except switch bizzaro and superman and switch nitro and el toro
As someone who's AFAB, I can say that Green Lantern is the least comfortable. I can only imagine the discomfort for people with nuts. Yikes.
yeah it sometimes hurts. you have to leave a SLIGHT gap under your feet and then it’s very nice
what were you saying about shoulder when you talked about kingda ka ?
The hard over the shoulder restraints on Kingda Ka are not comfortable
@@XscreamThrills ye sorry i dont speak english properly so i thought you mean that your shoulder needed to be at a certain heigh XD
I'm going to Great Adventure for opening day! Are you Xscream Thrills?
Not this year
I would love to get a RMC at Great Adventure
Jersey Devil is an RMC
Next year!
I totally agree
My ranking of all the coasters at six flags (best to worst):
1. Jersey Devil
2. Joker
3. Superman
4. Nitro
5. Zumanjaro
6. Kingda ka
7. Batman
8. Bizarro
9. Green Lantern
10. Runaway Mine Train
11. Skull Mountain
12. The Dark Night
