another of those very underrated 80s that many seem to forget that did happened ,,, anyway, is the actor who play shocker same agent FBI guy from X-FILES ?
Wes Craven’s second best movie of the 80’s then Scream in the 90’s rip to the King of Horror films and that one drama he made with Meryl Streep and Angela Bassett
Wes craven thank you for your great works I love all of your films that's what you a true horror fan Stephen king John carpenter's Dennis hopper love y'all
I own this movie and watched it several times over at the end in the credits it says Heather Langenkamp -Victim ? I am wondering why it says her name in the credits she is not in the movie.SHOCKER is cool and it deserves a part 2 and 3 but SHOCKER can not replace Freddy Krueger never would happen
Craven is a horror legend, but the guy was an egomaniac. Just listen to his interviews about everything related to NOES that he wasn't affiliated with. I am a big fan of Shocker, but there was no way it was going to become even 1/10 of what Freddy became. It's a great cult horror flick... And that's the way it is! (See what I did there?)
I thought Shocker was a very fun entertaining movie with a kickass soundtrack, but I do often wonder what Wes was smoking when he thought that Horace Pinker was going to succeed Freddy Krueger? It was an interesting take on a serial killer being able to travel the airwaves via electromagnetic currents. But there is just something about the violation of the solace of sleep and lucid dreaming that really made Freddy stand out over a slew of other knockoffs and imitators.
He deserves his horror cred for Nightmare and Scream alone but agree with everything you said. He did over-rated himself but Shocker, Deadly Friends, The People Under the Stairs all great films too just not iconic or hit the mainstream.
Well, most of the stuff Freddy Kruger-wise that he wasn't involved in did honestly suck. So I wouldn't say that was just his Ego when the best films of the series are the ones he worked on lol.
Frightening creation ever? Retire Freddy Krueger? Lmao sorry wes but this movie wasn’t scary at all. And nobody beats you’re ultimate creation or could ever retire Freddy. You made him truly eternal because his legacy will live in for generations ☺️😉
Well then again this film was made during 1989 and Freddy Dead was made two years later so by that point Freddy became a household name and a joke no longer taken seriously anymore by that point during that time period. Of course I highly suspect that this movie is really commentary of how Wes Craven felt they turned Freddy into and made that movie to voice that.
I saw this on video back in 1989. This movie sucked. Wes Craven really thought he had a new Freddy Krueger on his hands but he was wrong. I personally liked Wes Craven, but this movie, which runs for nearly 2 full fucking hours, is way over the top for way too long. Did not like it at all. However, Mitch Pileggi - who actually gives a really good performance as Horace Pinker - went on to much bigger and better things with "The X-Files," deftly playing a character who is *completely the opposite* of Horace Pinker.
Back in the glory days when movies had proper rock or heavy metal soundtracks
Hell yea, I had this soundtrack on CASSETTE!
Bonfire was a criminally underrated band.
I've got a promo only version of the record.
Wes craven was a genius
True
i remeber seeing that as a kid
Great soundtrack too.
I did not know he made Shocker
Watched it on cable in the early 90s on a Cinemax free preview weekend 😂
3/17/24
i rememr watching this w/an "old friend" it blew my mind it was so welly writtn by a legend and an original G.O.A.T wes craven r.i.p

DRAGOTH BELMONT Yes. Mitch Pileggi who played Horace Pinker would go on to play Assistant Director Skinner on the X Files
Yes, that's Mitch Pileggi. He also went on to have roles in 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'Blue Bloods'.
Wow. This is cool. Why this is not on the DVD is beyond me..may I ask where did you find this?
OcpCommunications I have this on DVD double-billed with The People Under The Stairs. Go to Amazon.
I have that two pack and this isn't on that disc. Are you talking about a two pack from overseas or from the US?
I have a copy of Shocker
Did return of living dead 2 and graveyard shift last night and on this one then people understairs.. Good shit.
Very underrated movie.

I was 10 when this came out and probably 10 when saw. Not bad movie at all and 80's.
Heather is the girl seen at the very beginning of the film in a body bag I believe.
She is the one with the bloody arm
The audio on this is a little out of sync just so people know.
Wes's female characters don't need to brag that they're "strong characters" because obviously they are.
Replace Freddy. Lmao never
Pinker's up there. Come on, at least admit he's better than Freddy was after part III or IV.
Not replace just like the next Freddy type villain. I hope you got that
Nice upload 👍
Shocker is a lot better film than any of the elm street movies or any movie for the last 20 years.
Gonna have to disagree that its Better than ANOES.
Wes Cravens movies are great

@@boomstickcritique902 true
Well the movie had a good idea, but like almost every movie by Wes Craven after Nightmare on Elm Street, the movie doesn't go beyond average.
Scream?

R.I.P wes craven but man you really failed with replacing freddy what we're you thinking you can't replace freddy with a cheap knock off

I have loved Shocker for over 30 years now. It just never gets boring to me.
