Lizz please play Control!!! Its a very good game that you would love and it directly ties into Alan Wake in the dlc, there is a lot of interconnectivity but the game is also worth playing on its own.

Really love your playthrough!! For the "Mind Place" thing, I guess they got the inspiration from Sherlock Holmes Mind Palace, which is a special technique detective uses to memorize a large amount of info. The idea is to imaging a physical place to store memories so detectives can "pull out and review memories" as necessary.
its actually a memory trick that can be taught in order to organize thoughts, kinda old actually, I first learned about it in a book but seeing being used in sherlock homes was neat.
this is my first time watching your content and i only just started the video but already i am pretty impressed by how on the ball you are picking up little stuff a lot of people who play the game tend to miss(at least until the game brings explicit attention to it). it really shows that your invested in the games narrative.
If you want the most comprehensive up to date info for AW2, you should watch a recap of every reference to it in control as well, it’s the same universe and they are very directly connected
@@LIZZgame okay good to hear! I’ve already seen a handful of things that would’ve went over my head completely without knowledge from control so I wanted to throw that out there just in case
@@Tom-gp2uo well.. I DID stay away from too many Control spoilers since I haven't played it, but wanted to. But I watched a lore-analysis of Alan Wake that includes parts from Control and also AW American Nightmares.
@@LIZZgame ah yeah, that';s probably the best you can hope to do while keeping Controls main spoilers to a minimum. There's only a few direct AW references so I figured there's probably a vid out there with the few things, and few keyword/important meanings etc. Would be fun to see you play Control sometime after all of this for sure! Wonder if AW2 will spoil anything major from it lol hopefully not
Oh this brings back memories for me, I loved playing the original Alan Wake, was thinking of getting this new one but like everything else, think will watch you play thru it Lizz before I decide on getting and playing it myself. I really enjoy single players games that have actually nice plot to it, this one is shaping to be one of those games.😀
If someone didn't play the first game they might mistake the guy in the beginning as Alan. Imagine starting out and thinking that this naked, chubby, balding dude with back hair is the hero 😂
16:15 "I might not get every reference but few I hope" It's ok, it would be tough to get them all 🤗 But it's not necessary to understand any of them since I think Remedy said you can play this game without playing the first part, THOUGH of course it might be easier to understand wtf is going on.. BUT it has also references to Control (e.g. FBC) and Quantum Break (e.g. sheriff Breaker) so those games could be worth checking out too.. not forgetting real world references to movies, books (fiction & non-fiction), music and Remedy themselves 😅
its kind of brilliant how remedy got the best of both worlds by having a lot of fun deep cut references for dedicated fans, but also made the narrative of this game work perfectly well if you don't get them, by having saga be a fish out of water who has the same level of knowledge of the setting as a hypothetical player who has never played a single Remedy game before this.
I was just looking up voice actors for this game and the actor that plays Mulligan did the voice of Tinky Winky from the Teletubbies for about 70 episodes lol
Hi, LIZZ, I want to thank youtube for recommending your channel! you're cool! Now I'm watching all your videos! by the way, no one told you that you look like the actress Jennifer Lynn Carpenter))) Good luck and greetings from Russia)))
You got this! Before restarting, maybe lower the Difficulty? I watched someone play on the easiest and it was a tremendous difference between normal and that.
Honestly? No idea. But it was a gut feeling which seemed right.. and with the knowledge that Nightingale was pulled into the Dark Place in the first game.. 🤷♀️ His face and voice is Doug Cockle btw, the voice of Geralt Of Rivia. ⚔️
Wait, you haven't played CONTROL? Remedy's best game, with multiple references to Alan Wake and even a DLC dedicated to the Alan Wake universe??? Watching from Colombia btw... 😉
Thanks for this comment. Not watching this series either then. Out of 20 youtubers the only one that actually listened to the music is jesse cox. UA-camrs are beyond moronic about music in videogames. Like not every game has hour long soundtracks/music made for it.
I can't believe you played this before playing Control? How could you understand all the mentions and references to The Oldest House, Parautilitarians, The Hiss, The Board, OOPs and AWEs? SMH
Really liking the game so far but "the mind place" was such a bad idea in my opinion. Constantly taking the player out of the world to navigate a menu really hinders the pacing and immersion.
Welcome in everyone, thanks for watching!
I'm glad I was there for it. I loved every bit of it.

It's Geralt of Rivia, yay! The naked dude in the beginning :)
it's his magnificent voice actor, Doug Cockle, ye!
This seems awesome game and story! I loved the max Payne games also, only played 1 & 2 though

One can immediately guess the age of a letsplayer when they don't realize Alex Casey actually has the voice and face of Max Payne. 😂

I think their intention was to make them really follow the story and plot, which is hard, to they literally laid it out for all of us
