I got a 97 extended cab hardbody.. I made dual rings in a figure 8 shape and put 2 skar 6.5's in each of my doors. All together I got 8-6.5's, 4-super tweeters, 2-300watt pa's under the truck. Single skar zvx-12 in a custom 28hz slot port box. Running my mids and highs on a skar 1000.4 and my sub on a taramps smart 3k... it gets down for what it is. Just recently discovered and subscribed to your Channel. Look forward to seeing your new videos😁🤜🏼👍🏼
I have d21 I just bought and I want to change the stereo but when I took everything apart I noticed the other owner cut the wires from the truck and run some brown hard cables to some aftermarket door speakers he had installed but like the old aftermarket radio that was there had most of the color cables connected to this hard brownish cables . And only like 2 connected to the OEM connector cables 😅 I know is confusing but I need help 😭 i connected all the 2ires same way wnd is not working it doesn't even turn 9m qnd i already check the both fuses . Anyone please h3lp 😢
my recommendation is run new wires, only worry about finding the constant power (usually red) and the ignition source (usually yellow). Then get you some speaker wire if the ones you bought didn't have it already and run it to the doors or where they need to be. It's super easy because only have to worry about negative and positive. Get the rats nest out and that way you know what is what
I had a similar issue I just bought a 96 d21 and it had all the stereo wiring spliced and for some reason, when I installed a new head unit the power was blowing the meter fuse. My simple temporary fix was to splice into the power cable from the cigarette lighter which is right next to the stereo since it has its own fuse. And I just ran a ground from the panel behind. I haven’t had a problem with the fuses so far but I do plan on doing a full rewire some time soon since I will do a subwoofer install
I'd check your wiring make sure nothing is off and also your headunit settings, sometimes they are under powered so they might not pump enough bass to speakers
I've been wanting to change my oem speakers too and been having trouble getting accurate information on my model 1995 nissan pickup se since when I got it passed to me the owners manual was lost and had to resort to looking at pdfs that I think are accurate and end up being some what different, would you know if the size of the door and back speakers are the same as yours? And is there extra hardware required when changing the oem's or is it just plug and play? Thanks if you reply
Unfortunately the hardbody didn’t have the OEM speakers in it. Those speakers we replaced were boat speakers someone put in and also gave us trouble. The OEM should be better because it’s either going to have a plug or a clean connections to it. The size we got was slightly smaller than those boat speakers but still worked in the factory location by drilling some small holes to hold them. The back speaker was aftermarket on this one so i don’t know if an OEM option is out there for the back. The new speakers you get will have some hardware to adapt them if needed so don’t be afraid. @@FlakeGarage OK thanks alot for the information I appreciate it, I'll follow you on ig and ask questions if I get stuck, I'll try to see if I can figure out more first
Have you tried getting spacers? We got lucky that it somehow clears the window just fine but you can always purchase a spacer to help push the speaker out and clear the back

How do you like the Skar equipment? Another hardbody owner put some on theirs and we keep seeing their name. Would you recommend?

What size are the screws that hold the speaker to the door?
Hey man i had 4 inch speakers stock and replaced them with 6.5 300W ones .
Its definitely much louder but there's barely any bass... any tips?

I would have run all new speaker wire to the head unit.
Yeah I think we will once we get some carpet for the truck. Start fresh with a better system
Do you remember what size speakers those are ? I tried fitting 4in kickers in my doors but they were to small, was hoping a 5in would work
Link is in the description for the speakers we used and they are 6.5in

How did you get the depth to fit those? Anything more beefy than a 30w 5” speaker hits the window on my d21

@@FlakeGarage going to make some I think, maybe with a slight upwards tilt, fire the sound in a better direction .
Measure your speakers and you can find most size spacers on Amazon for cheap! I’d give that a try
If my side speakers don’t work that well, can I just get that speaker block behind my bench seat?
Does this video work for an 86 extended cab?
I wouldn't see why not
Can you tell me about your quick release steering
Here is the video ua-cam.com/video/KQrXhxkhYt4/v-deo.html
I have those speakers they don’t last 😭😭
Good to know. So far they have been fine for every day use but we’ll see how long they last
Can you tell me about where are you leaving ? I'm Iraq.
We are in the US
