So yes when your country is no larger then Rhode island, have 1 million resident with a per capita of roughly 150,000$ per person, you have the largest natural gas reserves in the world, then yes you can pretty much "invest" in anything you'd like. I live in al Khor and al bayt stadium is huge, its nearly done and I’m hyped. The metro may come to Al Khor because when you drive to al Khor from Doha on the coastal road you will see a tunnel in the middle near a bridge and also some very narrow bridges, too narrow for cars, these are also for a train and they go towards al bayt stadium.

New York has great big buildings and roads. Its amazing in it's own way. Both places are different and good in their own way. Yes New York has some shitty areas but so do most places.
Hell no not even close. Qatar is still behind New York in at least 3 decades. It's not as developed in terms of infrastructure. New york has been d sloping since the 1850s while qatar has only been growing since the late 70s. But still it's coming up beautifully but you can feel like their is no real cultural rythem and everything is artificial.

I really love Turkey and Qatar. But don't squander your money on dumb projects like Dubai. Look at Dubai now. Bring in some refugees from middle east to create a stable permanent population which can actually contribute to economy and develop the country. Investors don't develop economy they just inject small amount of gas which does not overall help the country. Don't build crazy building projects, you already have that. Invest in people so they can really make country stable. I'm talking about refugees. Show some mercy to your own people in middle East. Don't be corrupt like Dubai. Good to see these developments but high ups should work on transferring technology to Qatar. There is lot, they can establish to continue earn other than oil and gas.
