Christopher Timothy is awesome ... He has all the accent's of each character just perfect ... I love listening to these stories .... I first read a book by James Herriot back in the 70's , then enjoyed watching the TV sensation of All Creatures Great and Small ... Each character was cast perfectly ... So believable ... And now loving the books read by Christopher Timothy ...
I doubt you read this as a teenager as it was published in 1972 (first of the series). If you were born in 1942, you'd have been 30 when that first book came out.
Love these books, downloading as l go along! And whoever is doing the reading, a most palatable voice ie so well suited! Thank you so much! Very grateful for these lovely stories!!! 🌻
Yes. These bedtime stories that help me to relax and unwind before sleeping bring back wonderful memories of shooting around the old TV with my siblings watching this wonderful series. ☺️
Nowadays, if you hadn’t paid your bill, the vet wouldn’t even think about coming. I am unsure what’s changed. Money’s become more important than anything I think! Even in a dire emergency a vet won’t treat your animal without payment! It’s sad but fair I guess
The vet shouldn't have to come if the previous bill hasn't been paid , I don't know how these people would have the nerve to call the vet out , knowing they hadn't paid 😏
@@khindall8044 Number one, it didn’t happen in the books, they always treated the animals no matter what. The comment I made referred to today’s vets, where things are very different. A vet studies for six extremely tough years to qualify. Where a doctor only has to learn about one species, a vet must master eight or nine so it’s very hard. Would you go through all that then work for nothing. They have to pay bills too, rent, food hex, petrol ect ect. I understand your point about the animals suffering, but sadly millions do everyday anyway. It’s not ok that animals suffer, it’s criminal, but you can’t live on fresh air.
David, David, David. Sit down, take a breath, and calm yourself. You're working yourself into a lather over nothing. It's difficult but true: women prefer Siegfried's type to you.
Stephen make sure you check out the new All Creatures 2022. BBC has done a fantastic job putting together another great series with these characters. This time the Helen and James relationship is more featured which is wonderful. Rachel Shenton, as Helen, is absolutely perfect. I think she is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen and her acting is impressive.
@@johnnyjoubert7846 The new series has nothing to do with the BBC. Channel 5 in the UK have made the new series and are doing a very good job of it from the casting to the writing it is superb.
Age is no barrier to enjoying these stories! But I agree, Christopher Timothy IS synonymous with James Herriot!
It's so comforting listening to this! To most people over 50 Christopher Timothy IS James Herriot. LOVELY 😁
I agree. Tried the new one. Couldn't do it

I can listen to these stories over and over again. They're wonderful.
Love the use of the language!
I’m 82 & read the books years ago❤️ It’s so pleasant to listen to these stories when I’m in bed🥰
Me, too. 80 and read it as a teenager, loving this reading...

I listen to them in bed too and they're a perfect wind down before sleep.
Beautifuly narrated stories set in the Youkshire Dales of the 1930s. Delightfully moreish.

Timothy Christopher is reading the books, and he is the actor who portrays Dr. Herriot in the television series. His talent is incredible. ❤
I am euphoric listening to Christopher Timothy recreat the world of All Creatures, flawless effort bringing so much new life. Fantastic effort.

I found season 1 on youtube, still hunting down 2, 3, and 4 though.
Only one word to describe these books.BRILLIANT
Thanks for the reading and thanks for the choices
His voice, even without the gentle Scottish accent is so like Alf.
Thank you for this fabulous reading. I am taken away to the Dells w/all it’s wondrous adventures of heart and mind, that soothe my own troubled ones.
wonderful!
That was the life the time to have lived
Can you imagine! Real neighbors, real farms and homes, real food, real milk and eggs. Friends and love ones....heaven.
No antibiotics, or vaccines...
But between the pros and cons, there are definately more pros 😅

I see nothing fair about punishing a nonhuman for their human's failings. If Siegfried wanted his money, he should have taken legal action.

When did these start having commercials ?
When you had to pay to have it without, some years back, 2 or 3 I think, maybe more

I am very frustrated with the speeded up sections. Like someone just twists the knob at random points
For me it only happens when I touch the screen in a certain place, then it goes x2 or x3.
Jackson Helen Thompson Helen White William
It is little wonder that Donald Sinclair, the inspiration for Siegfried, didn’t like his portrayal in the books….
He is a real twit

The simple romance is the best. It’s uncomplicated and peaceful. It is the best of romance. It is steady, peaceful, and wonderful.
@@johnnyjoubert7846 Turned it off after the first ten minutes. Utter tripe.
