First edition, second issue: the first practicably obtainable issue of the original sheets, comprising sheets of the suppressed 1865 printing of Alice with the Appleton cancel title page. The issue consisted of 1,000 copies, using the first printing sheets but with new tipped-in title pages also printed at the Clarendon Press, Oxford. Dodgson authorized the sale to America on 10 April 1866 and was invoiced for the printing of the American title pages on 26 May.

I have a copy of the 1897 printed edition with illustration :) It's a rare find I grabbed yesterday! So proud of it!
You're very lucky.
I have the 1866 London printing 1st edition, in excellent condition. It was my mother's, bought for her in 1960 by her father when he had been in London. She never read it and it was packed with other books for well over 50 years, i just found it a few days ago lol. What a funds :-) (and yes, i had it appraised today so it is genuine)
I would love to know the whole process of acquiring, maintaining, and auctioning these books. I'm just a simple Yankee bibliophile, but I find the books you guys have and the stories behind them amazing.
I just found what I think is a original copy of this book in mint condition though some of the gold is fading" it was thrown away with a few other vintage things" I'm still freakin out!!
I have an 'Alice's Adventues in Wonderland' but when I Google it the prices are all over the map. How do I know what year mine is?
I have a copy of through the looking glass first edition. Looking to get the first one
Ooop my nana has both Alice's adventures in Wonderland and Alice through the looking glass in thirst addition. I remember reading them when I was about 9.
Absolutely gorgeous condition!
I have one like that ,falling apart somewhat with no date inside. What is it worth and who do you think would buy it if l choose to sell it. Sincerely Sherry
are her 1956 versions worth anything?
I have the 1870? (no date) printing with gold and both stories of the series... "Alice in Wonderland" and "Alice though the Looking Glass"... Think I paid $50 in 1990. Gold on side, same image and no colour (I have a copy of the original with coloured version of 1910.. reprinted in 1940's).
