What really keeps me going is when you break from the narrative to monologue on the mysterious and elusive beast that is day z. It makes me feel that “somebody sees me” feeling.
damn nit Cam! I just finished "How to have a Perfect Start in 2024 DayZ - Beginners Guide - Part 2", thought I would watch a movie before diving into part 3. The part of 26:37 is exactly my kind of DayZ, perfect amount of action filled dialogues with a mixture of video logging and documentary. I love that you play the game with respect to all other players you encounter and it's not ALWAYS on sight. I enjoy the game waaaaay more watching and I'm glad I've found you. there's something so surreal about a 16.4K climbing his way up. I hope/wish I could play with you one day to help the channel. I have the game installed but haven't touched it in awhile. your slowly changing my mind. Keep up the great work. job well done once again with this one.
Awesome vid. I built a base that was 5 gates deep on official. I thought I had built the safest place ever. It was even in a town that wasn’t commonly visited. I enjoyed my base so much that I even built a crate downstairs where there was a fire. I filled it with firewood and kindling so that I could have a nice warm fire going while in my awesome base. The base lasted 3 weeks…. I was sad when it was destroyed but it led to me discovering a fantastic little stash spot that has lasted for more than 1 wipe. No more bases for me sadly.
I feel your pain. I keep spending time and getting attached to bases i feel are pretty safe, only to get raided what seems like the next day. Ik people dont like to say their spots but ive been looking for a good stash spot, please help a brother out
@@Alonelyy your best bet is to find a nice cluster of trees inland away from normal loot routes. I found a spot well away from where people typically run. It’s a fantastic little location that is fairly easy to access from the coast.
Thats a really good content and also good video. From monologue to narrative. My gosh that is the dayZ experience. Feel it to my veins not gonna lie. Also i got the bait in the "THE END" part wow.
I have tried to get into bases. I just despise them in Dayz. Every base ridden server is just swarmed with bored chads that have everything they need so they just look for fights in global chat. Lose the fight? No big deal…fresh spawn sprint to your base to re kit and skip 90% of what makes this game so great.
All of the shots outside of normal gameplay so.... for example on our private server I gear them in the same clothes from my run, and then I get cinematic shots to enhance the experience with that after I've finished my official run.
@@camcantrunOh wow so these videos must take you a long time to create, well done. How can you prove that there are no actors in ‘normal gameplay’? If it were scripted, the result would be identical / equally entertaining for the viewer no? Less fun for you though which I’m sure is why you do any of this at all :-) keep up the great content mate
Hi Cam. There's something I misunderstood about zombies. They spawn nearby players? I understand if you see dead zombies on the ground, that's a clue that someone passed by here. Q: If you see zombies near a house, is this a clue that they can be here? Or if there is no zombie, this is the clue? And how do you know if they are not spawning because you are in the area? In another video, with a long scope, if you see zombies in town (long distance) ok.... Maybe players are here. But when you are in the town for fighting, what do you need to check about zombies? Thank you
Hey there, buckaroo! I recently discovered your channel and I'm really impressed with your video editing and narration skills. Your voice tone and diction are fantastic. Do you use the DayZ Editor for your cinematics?
The cineamtics were mostly done in a COMMUNITY SERVER with COT and Actors. I believe there is probably like 5 editor clips in there too, mostly of piano house :)
@@camcantrun Thank you, sir. I was imagining those shots would be easier in an accessible server rather than trying to fumble around doing it with programmable bots on the editor. It was a headache when I made an attempt. Great content.
You know when the dude showed up and gave you the steak, I said to myself, Cam gotta be the luckiest player to come across friendlies. Then he pulls the bat out. And I didn’t get why he didn’t use the bat if it gave him an advantage
Awesome video! Cam, you are the reason I started playing DayZ. It really is an awesome game, and I try to play like you with honor and no gear fear! How do you get good at PVP? I’ll play for hours, and then get into my first firefight and lose in five minutes. Is there a special mod or server I can play on where I can just try out weapons and figure out how they work well…? Or could you do a video on how to get good with guns in DayZ? Much love brother!
Never really played official? Do you need the pickaxes? I've literally never had to use one. The sledgehammer does everything that it can that I've seen?
Yeah, I noticed that too. I must've accidenttly dragged the audio over to the left making it a little earlier. But no, literally everything you here is in game beyond me doing clear voiceovers.
I'm 23 mins into the video, and it's killing me that you're chopping down trees when there's a plank pile in the sawmill that's less than 100 yards away. It's one of the many reasons why I've always liked Karmanovka. Spent my first couple weeks playing DayZ weinering around Karmanovka on an official server, where I had my precious barrel stash. Thousands of hours later, I rarely run through Karmanovka. On the rare occasions that I do, it's usually just to remenisce.
Im solo too (ps5) And I just finished my first base, two gate and two fence. It took me 10 hours with a couple of death and mistakes (I built in the wrong direction). Now I'm just waiting for the loot to be taken😅
I’m always solo too but have built quite a few bases. I enjoy trying different styles and strategies with my builds. They rarely last a wipe unfortunately so I’m back to stashes now.
@@fleabenderit gets quicker the more practice you get. Perhaps keep a secondary stash somewhere safe with some base building supplies in it. Will make the rebuild faster once your base eventually gets raided.
@@ianwilliams3254 👍 I have a barrel nearby in the forest, but I don't know how long the stuff will stay in it(?). Perhaps one should bury couple wooden crate in the ground..

Yo Cam,
Make more movies. You will be Stevie or Frost (from rust movies) of the DayZ world. Nice editing!
