Thanks for sharing the raw ups and downs, if our paths ever cross I’m going to shout you a beer or a wine. Onwards and upwards and looking forward to your future travel vids.
Some years back there was a lot of "dirty" gas around in southern Qld and I had to replace my caravan regulator 3 times, when I returned back down south all gas was purged from the bottles and fresh gas put into both gas cylinders with a new regulator. No further issues since but it was most frustrating at the time, hope your travels improve, GH 😊
Good to see it’s all sorted. With 8.7 tonnes for your setup we were so glad it was dry when you were in our paddock, especially as you were only 2wd at he time. Enjoy the rest of your travels. Envious as ever. 😀
Hi Bianca & Grant - good hear that things have finally come to a conclusion with the vehicle- time to enjoy the travels - all the best again - stay safe 🍷🍷👍
OMG you two are amazing that you are still so positive after all the dramas you have had. It's great that you have come across some good repairers as well. They still do exist. Good luck with the rest of your trip and hope nothing else goes wrong for you. Enjoy. Deb
Blimey you really were a bad bugger in a previous life 😊. Unfortunately I know the feeling with our 200 series. At least now it should be all enjoyment and plain sailing into the sunsets. Keep smiling and keep safe.
In all my years on the road I never had a problem with my Landcruiser, only my BT 😂 Life is something that happens while you’re busy planning other things 👍🏻 I wish I was still living up there at Teewah, I’d go sit at the beach and wait for Round 2 guys 😂…….it’s gonna be a knockout only this time in your favour IM FRICKING CERTAIN……but alas I’ve relocated so it’s not an option. 🤙🏼
hi grant and bianca, phew you both kept so cool with all your problems,so glad you both got them all sorted, can,t wait to see you take the rig back to the beach ,travel safe.
You can imagine onlookers reactions when you turn up on the beach with the biggest beast money can buy you go 10ft That sure is some humble pie to be eating At least you didnt go hungry ;) Pity the Auto Locking Hubs werent easier to fix
There is an aftermarket front wheel brg spindle kit available similar to Toyota/Nissan that allows bigger wider tyres to be fitted that doesn’t impact longevity of the front brgs. Original brgs as you’d know come as a throwaway- have done the exercise and stripped this unit and found that outside to outside of inner and outer brgs are a miserly 42mm that’s outside to outside. So wider more offset than standard tyres has a lot of leverage on the original brgs. Bit long winded but for your info.
Good work Bianca, you have certainly had some unnecessary headwinds in your trip, seems like ever since you were convicted to change vehicles. Hope it improves for you.
Hi Guys 100% right to make sure 4wd is ok ,if the tide was coming in could have been a disaster. With the Weber the regulations have changed a while back ,a Weber or appliances without a flame failure device can't be legally operated on caravan bayonet fitting. Apparently Weber are putting out a unit with a FFD fitted in 2024. It is legal to use the Weber from a separate gas bottle ..make little sense really but regs are regs. It is possible to retro fit a FFD to existing appliances. Safe travels 🙏
Yes thanks mate, we are aware of this but haven’t gotten around to updating the ffd. We will! Soon! But we don’t leave the appliance while in use, I keep a eye on it, haven’t had a problem but it is just to get us by till we find an ffd! So they changed the regs saying it’s illegal to not have an ffd but icouldn’t find one anywhere compatible with the Weber!? So I get it, but they need to help facilitate change for the consumer before changing the rules and not move the goal posts. Safe travel to you also mate😁👍
I have a ffd fitted to my weber no issues. I think if the device is left unattended and lpg were to leak in the van & there was a source of ignition would be the problem
Seems to be many issues around the major components requiring replacement. In the previous video which I just watched an hour ago, you had just got the vehicle. I made a comment and asked if it was secondhand. So with all these things needing replacing, I am assuming it had to be secondhand because surely you can't have driven that far to break everything in just a few months. The car looked clean and new when you got it but in reality, it must have been given a once over by the previous owner who obviously modified things or gave it a hard time. The thing with landcruisers is that even after 500,000ks they are still running like new. Mine is 780,000ks old with a few bits replaced. I'm wondering if the F350 is as good as they say now that it has done some miles in this country. Maybe we expect more/better from our vehicles than Americans do. To test 4wd wouldn't you just put it on the dynatune and run it with front hubs engaged? Why try to drive across some rutted road. You really couldn't tell because surely it would drive across that uneven ground without 4wd anyway? And regarding the weight I felt the truck would go almost 5500 due to the boat on top. So I was not far off.
The thing is the “Landcruisers are better” argument is loaded with more holes than a farm Ute! You can’t compare your LC with a ftruck, because it weighs twice that of a 4WD. Componentry is under a lot more stress thus more wear faster! The parts that were replaced were probably due to be replaced, we just didn’t know! I understand that our recent vids haven’t painted the best picture for ftrucks. But the thing is I once owned a 76 series which was a heap of shite but I still bought a Toyota lc after that! So go easy with the judgement mate!😁👍
Yeah it does look new, but it’s a 2nd hand 2017 model. We’ve modified Landcruisers in the past and had similar problems. It’s not uncommon and not just a “Ford problem “! It’s all good, we will be on the road cruising again soon😁👍
Thanks for this video, it just shows that we all have problems. You guys just had all your problems in the same week. Stay safe and hope to meet you guys some day.
How old and what km is the F350? - I ask regarding the suspension and steering components that required replacement - thanks for the updates to your travels and vehicle
Loving your set up. A couple of bugs but once sorted it will be awesome. Just wondering if you had to upgrade your licence type due to the combined weight? regards
What I have seen with an F truck is that they selected 4wd and went down on the beach and it worked well. Driving up the beach was an ease drive so the ford puts itself in 2wd and when they went to leave the beach they bogged so they reselected 2wd then 4wd and away they went in 4wd. I am thinking that you selected 4wd to get onto the ferry and when you drove up the road to the beach the ford put itself into 2wd.
Hey Guys, we are currently looking at a new Ftruck, what was your axle ratings and did they tell you if you were over on the rear axle at all? It seems everyone forgets about there axle load ratings. And I can’t find alot if info about the Ftruck ratings in Australia. Thanks

😂 yeah I get it! But I think the problem is the work done to it and getting unlucky with aftermarket parts which failed. I think the truck itself is great! I’m starting to see a bit of luck heading our way as the truck is getting sorted out!😁👍
Hmm i can only see more perks on lc then f350 at this stage. Just judging from last few vids anyway. Not sure touring f truck is best thing in Aus. I would have gone with isuzu nps series if i needed more carrying capacity.
Yeah I get it, I definitely looks that way. But it’s early days to be makin calls like that. It’s all fixed now (hopefully!) so we’ll see how we go!? 🤞🤞🤞 I did consider an nps but I drove on for work…. No way would I tour the country in one. Have bad back and it made it worse.
As we said in the vid, the caps on the wheels could only come off by taking the wheel off, pushing the cap back and out off the rim! Stupid design! Couldn’t do that on the sand thus couldn’t manually lock hubs on the beach! Since then I’ve removed the front caps and can easily lock hub manually 😁👍
Thanks for sharing the raw ups and downs, if our paths ever cross I’m going to shout you a beer or a wine. Onwards and upwards and looking forward to your future travel vids.

I would manually lock your hubs from now on this vacum arrangement sounds a bit hit and miss
Why didn’t they pick up the ball joins when they did your lift?
Can I ask what map program you use it looks cool.
The map app is called TravelBoast. I use the paid version to add the caravan
would a good test of the 4wd be on the dirt just give it some beans and see how many wheels spin?

- I ask regarding the suspension and steering components that required replacement
- thanks for the updates to your travels and vehicle
It’s a 2017 with roughly 130,000 kms
It is a good thing you have a trailer with an indoor kitchen. Did you lock in the hubs? It needs to have the hubs locked in.
No a mechanical fault meant the hubs wouldn’t lock
Loving your set up. A couple of bugs but once sorted it will be awesome. Just wondering if you had to upgrade your licence type due to the combined weight? regards
Gday!
Thanks mate😁👍
Yes, I already have a HR license, while Bianca got her LR license which is a bit easier and cheaper to get
Weight guess, vehicle 4.6t, caravan 3.6t GH 😊
Good guess

Hi Bianca, Great video and look forward to another beach episode. Also do you make the Za'atar or buy it. Would like to try it. Happy travels
