If you have to hold a position you want to see a guy like our favorite dwarf squaring himself and with that low growl declares: "Let them come!" Great work. Keep it up
This DWARF-METAL sequence, Gimli's "Let Them Come", and the other HEAVY METAL sequence "Théoden Sings Metal" , are the best Examples of any member of Middle Earth at the end of the 3rd Age having the correct internal balance and raw personality traits to translate well into a successful Heavy Metal lyric that matches the music. Aragorn did not translate well, nor Sam, nor even Gandalf. But Gimli and Théoden handled "Metal" beautifully - because Tolkien made those two characters both Brave and Nihilistic - both Abandoned of All Hope, and yet still FILLED WITH HOPE. And though both Théoden and Gimli were surrounded by companions, they both felt Alone. And finally, both of them had something to prove: to their ancestors, to the world, and to themselves. These emotional and mental states are fertile fields for some great Heavy Metal expressions to flourish in. Now add to this, the fact that both Théoden and Gimli truly believed that they were responsible to exercise their rights to fight as warriors in Arms, having been given this responsibility by way of the expectations of their families, their race, and the halls that existed in the afterlife, where the fathers of their Ancestral Lineage awaited them for the judgment: "are you worthy" . All of these states of being could theoretically also be claimed by Denethor, Steward of Gondor. But in his case they did not work for any Awesome 3rd Age Heavy Metal compositions. Denethor had many of the right traits, just like Théoden and Gimli, but for Denethor they were all tainted. Yes, Denethor was a Nihilist like Théoden - but Denethor was also a Fatalist, and a Middle Earth Atheist (which meant NO ILLUVATAR, and NO UNDYING LANDS). Denethor was also driven into a manipulated despair by way of the visions he perceived thru the 'Palantíri', the "Seeing-Stone," which Sauron partially controlled. This weakened Denethor, and we all know that "True" and "Powerful" Heavy Metal 'Cannot Be Weak'. Thus, Théoden and Gimli alone are able to translate well, producing a true Heavy Metal lyric that matches the music perfectly, making Théoden and Gimli the first, and maybe the only real Heavy Metal Superstars in all of Middle Earth.
This is amazing. I don't usually make comments, but if it really helps a bit, then i want to help. Cause this deserves to be seen/listened to by more people
You can find me on Spotify, but the sad thing is most of these LotR songs I do end up getting rejected by those services due to copyright issues. I'm sorry :/
Most of these songs become available on music streaming services after 20-30 days. The problem is: when you deal with music that features copyrighted material (like voices from movies and stuff), it doesn't matter if the music is original or not, their algorithm can catch something and your song is not approved. That was the case with the Gimli song... I couldn't get it approved for streamings :/
