  • Building the 64" x 64" option for the Kreg Tool table/bench which will hold my 1515 ultimate bee cnc router from #bulkman3d
I highly recommend this table, especially after my last machine build where I bought a ton of steel, cut it to lengths, welded it and disassembled it all so I could get it into my upstairs room, what a mess that was.
Links below to everything I used in this video (As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying links), there are a few table size options from Kreg which is great as well as the extended driver which was absolutely needed, along with the countersink and decking screws.
    My build as is:
64" Rail set (you'll need 2 sets and fits up to a 1515 cnc router):
    amzn.to/3JS0Vjn
Leg set ( you'll need one set which contains the 4 legs and all necessary hardware)
    amzn.to/3n1w3DU
Extended driver set for attaching table top:
    amzn.to/3Jk23uw
    3/8" Irwin Countersink
    amzn.to/3yL1uoK
    Optional:
Caster set, which is great for making your CNC/workbench mobile:
    amzn.to/3JzyXYm
Or other rail options for smaller CNC routers:
44" Rail set (you'll need 2 sets and fits up to a 1010 cnc router):
    amzn.to/42nODGn
28" Rail set (you'll need 2 sets and should fit up to a 7070 cnc router):
    amzn.to/42p63Tm
20" Rail set (you'll need 2 sets and should fit up to a 5050 cnc router):
    amzn.to/3JPc18w

Nice vid. I wonder if the supporting 2x4 were evened out on the top surface to ensure the tabletop is as flat as possible…. 🤔

I didn’t do anything to the 2x4 itself but I did go back and kind of tune the MDF almost like you’d level a printer bed. I feel like you could really go crazy trying to get it just right when ultimately you’ll be surfacing the spoilboard relative to the spindle in the end anyway. The other thing is the flex in the gantry- between those two things I just called it “close enough” after some effort and it seems to be going well so far for me- keeping in mind that the bulk of what I’m doing on this larger machine is just 2D contour cutting and sign making.

Sweet!!! Have any more videos of how you put on the mdf??

I don’t think I do, I’ll dig through my cloud storage and see if there’s anything left in there. Some details though- I had to use two pieces to get the size I wanted and it wouldn’t make it on a 4’x8’ sheet with the 60”+ width. I didn’t surface this or plane it at all. I just took some measurements and tried my best to get it flat and even all the way across. If I were starting over I would use some 4040 extrusion for the supports instead of 2x4’s. I would also probably have put some adhesive foam stripping on all of the extrusion surfaces that contact the table for some self leveling and dampening. That being said… the machine still runs totally fine, no issues with large deviations, etc so I’m also kind of happy that I didn’t go overboard and waste a ton of time over engineering the table.

How well do you like this table setup so far? Is it sturdy/rigid enough? I’m wondering if it shifts/moves any when you’re doin rapid movements.

The table has a slit flex in the center, but I hadn’t put a lot of cross bars underneath- I think doing 12” center to centers or something similar would have taken care of that- I’m on a second story residential so I just get concerned about adding more and more weight to the floor. If you’re in a garage or something similar I think the table is a great foundation that you can beef up pretty easily without needing to start from scratch

What was the length and width you went with for the table top? I hear that the actual footprint of the 1500x1500 is 68x67 if you account for the stepper motors

My table top is 68x68 and I have 1” inch in the front and back and ~2” on the right and left clearance

Here were the actual dimensions, I actually had someone ask me this yesterday:
The real overall length of the y axis including the motor and bearing plates is 66 inches
      (1676mm)
The overall width of the 1515 is 63inches (1600mm) including the motor and drag chain rail
