Thank you for the tour of the sleeper. Makes me really want to get back on the road. Drove over the road in the 80s for a company was home in one year a total of 21 days. Lived in a sleeper that with arms out to side elbows hit front and back.
Greetings, to y'all. I was a travel nurse before retiring 2 years ago. I have seen the Panther straight trucks at various truck stops. My brother was a former OTR Trucker for KLLM for many years. I am impressed with the room you have since it is not just a sleeper. I do look at other trucker video blogs like Trucker Josh, Allie Knight, and Jade and her husband.
Hi David! Thank you we are very lucky to have the amount of room we have in the truck. We enjoying watching all of their Vlogs too! We are still in the rookie vlogging stage compared to those guys. They are all such an inspiration for us and our videos. We want to show the expediting side of trucking since not a lot of folks know about it.
HEATHER AND JASON THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING YOUR HOME ON WHEELS...... I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS VIDEO...... YES, I WANTED TO SEE THE INSIDE OF THE CAB...... LOL I LOVE IT...... YOUR FUR BABIES ARE ADORABLE..... YOUR TRUCK IS A BEAUTY.......
HI there my son and I are starting to work with panther.. and yes I have watched all of your videos . thanks for all the information.. which I will use to do better on the road..
Enjoyed the video, my husband ,and me is starting on straight truck job on the September 06, .This will be our first job as a straight truck driver, we both are school bus drivers.
Beautiful Truck.. I drive a six wheel flat bed as I haul steel part time. I have a 47inch flat top sleeper, but I'm by myself so it does the trick. I have a Mack CH612. I also cook in my truck and I have a generator as it's my truck. Anyway, I noticed you have plastic in your cooker doing chicken. I don't like cooking in plastic because plastic has formaldehyde in it which can leach into your food and it a cancer agent big time. Maybe find some other liner for your pot as I know clean up is difficult. I enjoyed the tour, very remarkable truck....
Hi Pete! Thank you .. sounds like you have a very nice truck yourself. Thank you for the tip on the crock pot liners. I never thought of it but you are absolutely right! We are fortunate to have a sink in the sleeper too so I can wash the pot .. the liners just helped to save on using water. Safe Travels :o)
Plastc is scary stuff to cook with, however like everything else, I surmise there are people that it doesn't bother their health. And yes you are lucky, that is a wonderful sleeper. I just use a pan, and soap and pour bottled water that I fill up at a truck stop, to clean dishes out side, but it gets the job done. I do a lot of cooking in the rice cooker because it cleans easy and is versatile. I also have a small microwave, and one little propane burner and an 8" cast iron pan with a lid for frying. I make some pretty cozy meals lol. I have my front seat out, so I keep my cooler up there, and a few gallons of water. The cat often lays on the cooler or else on my bunk snuggled up. I had my truck built from a sleeper tractor I got used for a great price, I had the frame stretched thus making a flat bed out of it. I'm running a 10 speed Eaton Fuller manual with a 310 hp non turbo E7 Mack Diesel, 390 ration gears, and it's 32 feet overall length. I just haul from friends I've made with that own machine/fabrication shops, delivering the machines they build and transporting steel or going to get it. I also haul coils that are used in the stamping industries, from Indiana to Utica New York etc,. Since I do it part time, I never get tired of it as I'm partly retired at 63 years old. I'd of loved to have a Freightliner or a Peterbilt, but I could not turn down this Mack at such a good price and low millage. I'll be tuning in often, and I'm sure I'll enjoy your videos.. Thanks....
Great vid!...Otherwise gives tons of ideas on how to treat myself better as I travel. Time to build yourself some shelves with little bungees ton hold stuff still. Maybe some factory reps. will take notice and listen to what you like to better serve their customers. Great job on fitting all your necessities in such a small place including the doggies and the two of you..mmm
Awesome sleeper! Glad you can work away in comfort. That’s not a 40’ box though, it looks like a 20’-24’, do you mean the length of the whole unit? Curious because I’m buying something similar for work in film and every foot counts when you’re parking 20 10-ton trucks in a city downtown to shoot a movie.
I'm not sure if you stated it or not in your video but your sleeper looks a lot like a Bolt design. We have a 2014 Cascadia with a bolt sleeper and drive for Fedex. Thanks for the tour.
Hi macuser907 😃 Yes it is a Bolt sleeper so our set up is probably very similar to yours with the exception of the Cab. Do you all do reefer since you are with FedEx?
+macuser907 Very nice .. We have some friends that do White Glove @ FedEx also. Yes we are a dry box ... Panther has it's ups & downs like any carrier as I'm sure you know 😉 But have done well with them over the last 3 years.
That is so cool that you showed us all this. it gives us a nice view of how some trucks are accommodated. Wow, love the Porto Potty..!! - Now I want to get one :D hahaha, thank your husband for insisting on showing it, it really was a great idea. Believe it or not, it is a life saver. specially if your married or single. - But never do this if you are teaming with a stranger....LMAO Thank you guys for showing us :D
Thanks so much RecordTrance!! OK I will give Jason props on that one! It for sure make life a lot easier having it!! We actually just filmed a video showing where you can dump one & a more detailed look at it how it works. Just have to edit and finalize it so may be a couple weeks before I get that one uploaded but it's coming!! And right not a good idea teaming with a stranger to have that LMAO!! 😉
TheCraftyTrucker several days later i figured why i was not getting any of your vlog feeds. it was because the sub button didnt kick in, even though i did press it....so ya i feel a bit stupid...LOL
Boy! that is the biggest sleeper ive seen, i havent seen them in years tho. Storage is hugely fantastic! Ive been watching so many "storage for small spaces" videos latley. Seems they use alot of small baskets n boxes in drawers and cabinets like you keep clothes in. I heard you mention cabin|t organization so I was just sitting here thinking that little lazy suzanne type gadgets might work good in the kitchen uptop? Or/and those pull out shelves on roller things perhaps. Ive really found your videos so interesting and your so personable. Hope you dont think Im a new kind of creeper. lol Ive watched a few and commented this morning. Oh and like always i am thumbs uppin them! See you guys around the tubes Iam sure cause i hit the bell too. *snicker* I been wanting to say that since I learned of that feature lately. 🐝🐞🌻🌹
AnnyaMoon Hi Annya! Thanks so much ... LOL no worries we don't think your a creeper 😜 We really enjoy have the big sleeper. It definitely makes living out here for months much more comfortable. That's a good idea on the lazy Suzanne's and pull out shelves. There are still a couple cabinets I need to get better organized. Maybe I will get that done this year. 😉 Happy New Year!!
Good morning my name is Fred and I'm considering going to work for Panther and I was just wondering when you got your truck from Panther was it already set up with the APU and the refrigerator. I was also wondering how do you guys enjoy working with Panther and do you guys have to load or unload any of your cargo.
So, where did you get your truck? I am thinking of retiring in Feb and have been thinking of going back on the road, but I do not want to do the tractor trailer thing again
Thank you :o) No we don't find our own loads Panther does & dispatches them. While there is more down time, sometimes, waiting on loads verses traditional trucking what we are paid per load makes up for that.
Oh ok good to hear. Yea I worked with an expediter company before. I sat and slept in my vehicle more than I had runs. I dont wont to go through that again. The money I made mostly went in gas. I might check this company out. Thanks again
Less miles, better pay use less furl, makes sense. Wish had s sleeper like that when was long haul. Great videos, keep them coming. From a new subscriber
Bob Y Hi Bob. Yes we do still do this. The truck in this video we drove for a fleet owner. We bought our own truck last year. We go to all 48 states. Thanks a bunch :)
Thank you! It's an awesome truck. Always nice to hear from fellow drivers. Glad you are doing well! We love it also. How long have you been with Panther? We just uploaded a video about us & how we go into expediting on our channel if you want to check it out. :o)
Weird I'm sitting here at the Petro in Ontario, Ca. I see all these panther trucks and I'm like I wonder what the sleepers look like in those trucks .. from your video it appears you are at that same petro.. lol ironic
Do you need a Class A to drive such a vehicle? Or a Class C can drive this kind? I really like your set up! Its so beautiful! Also can you change the 40 ft trailer to a 26 foot? I hope you will answer me. I am ideally looking to buy a new Freightliner M2 - Extended Cab trucks 26 ft. However I cannot seem to know where to buy such.
Class B CDL is required. There is no trailer. The box on the back is 22ft. With such a large sleeper and the laws limit of 40ft total in most states only allows for a 22ft box
+Ian Piper This guy is so full of it because they don't make century class since 2010 so how the hell does he have a 2015. The cascadia replaced century in 2010. He is just a big lier.
Hi, I just subbed your vlog and am interested in knowing why you would choose a truck like yours vs. a semi type truck? And, a bit about how expediting is different. I do realize its time sensitive freight, but does that tend to pay better? Thanks, really enjoyed the truck show and tell. That's pretty darn nice living quarters.
Hi Bill..Thank you for subscribing!! We chose to do straight truck vs. tractor trailer because we wanted to be able to see & do more things out on the road. We can get into a lot of places that tractor trailers can not or are not allowed even if they drop their trailer. We have a video coming out very soon talking about what we do in our down time that I talk about a few of the places we've been able to go and see in the straight truck. Basically most places an RV is allowed so are we. And as you saw in the tour this sleeper is pretty much a small RV. :o) As far as the pay ..the rates per mile are typically higher because it's Expedite but you may not get as many miles as say a company driver. We typically make about the same or a bit more than a company driver would but run a lot less.
I am from Oklahoma. How do you get a job with your company to drive one? And do you have to run two divers or can I run Solo? Nice truck and lots of room. I am semi retired but cannot afford a motor home and this looks like a perfect job for me and a great place to call home.
Charles Ramsey we recommend reading and learning on expediters online .com this is where we learned. That is the number one best source for expediting.
Maximus K It's a fact that team driving in this business is the way to go for sure. Solo can be done but just like with team drivers you need all your qualifications to be the most successful you can be.
TheCraftyTrucker I learned it hard way didn't my homework. I work hard and smart when I have. But the problem is not in not having all credentials. Simply to say -- they don't have enough business for solo guys with 53' period. Everytime I call them I try very hard to get something out of them but it is in vain. I am leaving for a different company where I can use a percentage and loads back to back. Forget about that louzy company.
Maximus K Sorry to hear you are struggling ... dec-feb is a slow time for this business no matter if you are TT, ST or van. Panther isn't the company for everyone .... even expediting isn't for everyone. You are right having all your credentials isn't the ONLY problem but it is a big factor in being available for more load opportunities. Good luck in whatever you decide to do!!
Andrew Smith Hi Andrew! Panther doesn't have any company trucks. You either have to drive for an owner or own your own vehicle. Our 90 day average on MPG is 10.5.
So, how did you all get started with Panther? Did you have to have a CDL A or B and how do they handle the jobs coming in? Are you considered a contractor or an employee of Panther. Just trying to gather a little info, would like to get started but not sure where to start.
Richard Hysell You have to fill out their application online. Here is a link to it as well as what they require: www.pantherpremium.com/recruitingweb/fleet01.htm You need a Class B for the type of truck we drive. You would be an independent contractor .. they do not have company drivers. Check out Expeditersonline.com too. There is a ton of info there on expediting.
I'll be working for Panther next month driving a straight truck and I wanted to know did you connect your t.v., did it come with the truck? Also where did you buy your portor potty from and how much did you pay for it?
Brotha To The Night All depends on the owner you’ll be driving for. Mostly fleet owner nowadays are making sure trucks have TVs. Some will even come with satellite already installed. We bought our porta potty from a camping place in Houston but you can order them off of Amazon and get free shipping
How's the money in this? I would love to do this with my wife once our son graduates. I didn't think she could handle a normal sleeper but this ones very nice. Just wondering with the smaller freight area how's the money? (I have a cdl A)
Vladimir putin The truck in this video we drove for an owner. We bought our own last year. Here is a tour of it: ua-cam.com/video/2NEfD1ZQItM/v-deo.html
+Dylan Retrac One of the major differences of semis and expeditors, expeditors sit more, and get paid more. If you check their channel they have a weekly update on the trips/miles they ran that week. Pretty informative.
Tnx a lot. I have one more question I am thinking of getting a 156 in ari sleeper with a new volvo. How much will that cost . Do I have to do changes to the frame of the truck.
How much did you pay for this truck on average? It is type of truck that I've been looking for. I hope that wasn't rude to ask. I am researching to have a plan for what I wanted to do. Thank you.
Hi there. Just came across your videos. Great video. I have a question. Do panther hire recent graduates or do you have to have experience? I'm in process of getting my class b cdl
Hi Rashaun! Congrats on taking the steps to get your class B!! Last I checked Panther did not require any experience to drive a straight truck. If you don't own your own truck then the owner you drive for may require some experience though.
We do all kinds of expedited freight. We do a weekly recap video on Mondays where we talk about each load we get for that week if you want to check those out.
We drive this truck for an owner ... Panther doesn't have company trucks you either have to be an O/O or drive for a owner. Jason has a class A & I have a class B ... You only need a class B to drive the truck we are in though.
Bobby Davis we are owner operators for a year now. Unfortunately there are no company driver positions for these trucks. There are fleet owners who hire drivers but this makes you an independent contract driver not company driver. You will most likely need to team to start.
Okie Rider OTR drivers make pretty decent money you start out with a 55k to 65k annual salary with room to grow as a company driver. Im a CDL-A driver which I suggest everyone to get rather than stopping at a CDL-B basically because of weight purposes. Cant go over Class B weight other wise youll need a CDL-A to operate the equipment. Ive been driving for 4 years and work local. I make about 1300 a week which for my area is pretty decent money (I live in the northeast)
We are independent contractors. To get started I always recommend signing up for expeditersonline and learn from other drivers mistakes and success. Took us 6 months of research and about a year of trial and error.
Thank you for the tour of the sleeper. Makes me really want to get back on the road. Drove over the road in the 80s for a company was home in one year a total of 21 days. Lived in a sleeper that with arms out to side elbows hit front and back.

I am learning a lot about these types of trucks watching your content.
I appreciate it very much.
That was fun to watch one of your older videos and how your UA-cam videos have progressed. 🙃❤🇺🇲
Lol it’s fun for us too. This video was so shaky lol
this is my first time coming across this channel. I didn't know panther had trucks like this
Hey Serg Hi Serg! Panther contracts these straight trucks, tractors & cargo vans. 😉

crxtfr Thanks so much!! :o)

Thanks for the video. I'm also a commercial driver. And very interested in the expediting part of the trucking industry. Like to learn more.
Are you still driving
Only thing that would make the truck better is a shower bathroom.
You guys probably do good on fuel driving that I'm thinking about switching over to a this type of style of truck more simplyer than a 53 foot truck
SimpleTrucker We average 10.5 MPG which includes generator usage
Thats one beautiful truck! thx for sharing.

I just finished watching ur video and loved it. U have an awesome looking truck and I love it. Please stay safe. I also loves ur 2 cute little dogs.
Cathy Yates Thank you so much Cathy :)
Thank you!! I have been wondering how you sleeper was set up :-)

I want to live like this!

What's the GVWR and load capacity? 24`? Interior width? And $300k, fully outfitted as shown?
Keep driving and posting!
Glenn O'Connor Glenn O'Connor Thanks Glenn! GVWR is 33,000. It could handle 8300. Box is 22' & 97" width. That truck was $165,000.
Looks like a great setup and life, how do you like working for Panther?
We’re not with them anymore. It was a great learning experience for us, to help get us to where we are today.
Looks like she is the one who does whatever she wants and than says, "we have all this in the truck" poor guy
I'm going to start working for panther in January I bought a 2015 freightliner century with a bolt 102 inch sleeper
+Scott Ware hey man , how is business going with panther ?
Do a tour of it
+Ian Piper Ian? MY NAME IS IAN👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
+ian vazquez 😀
+Ian Piper
This guy is so full of it because they don't make century class since 2010 so how the hell does he have a 2015.
As far as the pay ..the rates per mile are typically higher because it's Expedite but you may not get as many miles as say a company driver. We typically make about the same or a bit more than a company driver would but run a lot less.
Hey Heather! Do you have do a video on the inverter controls that were below the sink? Or could you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
AJ G we will do that very soon!!!
Okay cool was it hard to get your truck
Teams drivers are always busy. Vs solo ones go broke. I am solo with Panther and trips are trully to be polite BAD !
How is your company about maintenance? Do you stay in the same truck as long as you want? Any idea on your MPG pulling and empty?
Andrew Smith Hi Andrew! Panther doesn't have any company trucks. You either have to drive for an owner or own your own vehicle. Our 90 day average on MPG is 10.5.
Holy crap the space in that sleeper is insane!
LOL! It definitely makes it nice to be out on the road longer :o)
Here is a link to it as well as what they require:
www.pantherpremium.com/recruitingweb/fleet01.htm
You need a Class B for the type of truck we drive. You would be an independent contractor .. they do not have company drivers. Check out Expeditersonline.com too. There is a ton of info there on expediting.
TheCraftyTrucker Ok Thank you, greatly appreciated!! Hopefully I'll see you all out there one day, lol
Richard Hysell Your very welcome! Would be awesome to meet up one day :o)
TheCraftyTrucker for sure! One of these days...
Are you able to drive this with a regular driver license?
these guys are kewl😇
I'll be working for Panther next month driving a straight truck and I wanted to know did you connect your t.v., did it come with the truck? Also where did you buy your portor potty from and how much did you pay for it?
Brotha To The Night All depends on the owner you’ll be driving for. Mostly fleet owner nowadays are making sure trucks have TVs. Some will even come with satellite already installed. We bought our porta potty from a camping place in Houston but you can order them off of Amazon and get free shipping
Cute Dogs!
Thank you!! 🐶😃
Is this your new truck
I am a Panther premium logistics driver as well. just wanted to say hello
Hi Konopka!! Always love hearing from fellow drivers. Hope you are staying on the move. Safe travels :o)
How did do get that particular job. You need a class b with air brake right?
How is the pay for panther Express
That is a pretty old Qualcomm unit! :P
Lol ancient ain't it.
Im with all state express expedition.. Howd you end up driving a short tractor? Im in a sprinter atm. Interested.
that is pretty cool
I love it and this is Eli James
Thanks Eli
How's the money in this? I would love to do this with my wife once our son graduates. I didn't think she could handle a normal sleeper but this ones very nice.
Just wondering with the smaller freight area how's the money? (I have a cdl A)
Got the sane Qualcomm:| my german shepherd loves laying on it.
Adam Rice Our Chihuahua does too LOL
Is that your personal trailer.
Vladimir putin The truck in this video we drove for an owner. We bought our own last year. Here is a tour of it: ua-cam.com/video/2NEfD1ZQItM/v-deo.html
Are you followers of The Jade and John Show? They are trucking youtubers like you.
Hi Kevin. Yes we follow The Jade & John Show as well :o)
I wanna get into expediting but I always worry I will sit a lot, do they keep you moving? how many miles do you average?
+Dylan Retrac One of the major differences of semis and expeditors, expeditors sit more, and get paid more. If you check their channel they have a weekly update on the trips/miles they ran that week. Pretty informative.
+Krieghandt Thanks 😃 We need to hire you to be our PR rep lol 😜
Tnx a lot. I have one more question I am thinking of getting a 156 in ari sleeper with a new volvo. How much will that cost . Do I have to do changes to the frame of the truck.
300k roughly. The dealer ship should handle all the frame changes
How much water does it hold for your sink?
How much did you pay for this truck on average? It is type of truck that I've been looking for. I hope that wasn't rude to ask. I am researching to have a plan for what I wanted to do. Thank you.
Hi there. Just came across your videos. Great video. I have a question. Do panther hire recent graduates or do you have to have experience? I'm in process of getting my class b cdl
Hi Rashaun! Congrats on taking the steps to get your class B!! Last I checked Panther did not require any experience to drive a straight truck. If you don't own your own truck then the owner you drive for may require some experience though.
+TheCraftyTrucker OK thanks you so much. I'm going check them out. Be safe on the road and keep the Videos coming
+Rashaun Wormely Thanks a bunch :o)
Hey Heather! Nice truck! Me and my wife was wondering how much did that customized truck cost?
This one was the one our fleet owner bought for us. Think he paid about 160k
@@TheCraftyTrucker wow!!
@@TheCraftyTrucker what length is the cargo area?
What kind of jobs do you do? How many miles you guys run per week, and what is the average paycheck you getting?
We do all kinds of expedited freight. We do a weekly recap video on Mondays where we talk about each load we get for that week if you want to check those out.
i abdolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE your truck ..... I wanna work for panther, i actually have CDL ....sign me up !!!
Nicholas Ross Thank you :)
LOVE THIS VIDEO AND YOU GUYS DO YOU HAVE A RECRUITER AND OWNER OR ARE YOU THE OWNER
Kandace Moye we are owner ops now just bought truck 2 months ago.
Very informative indeed.
What's the length and height of the truck?
hi I am Jayson I am asking you when where dide gets your truck at ..!?.
Jason Lamphere Hi Jayson! This truck was purchased from Fyda Freightliner in Columbus Ohio 2 years ago.
I know a lot of times to drive a straight truck you don't need a Cdl but you need like a school bus lisc. I might be wrong tho
Craig Niles Depends on the GVWR of the straight truck you are driving. Ours is 33k GVWR so you need a minimum of a Class B CDL for it.
TheCraftyTrucker thanks I'm curious because a friend and me have been offered a job team driving one of these rigs hauling car parts
Craig Niles Cool! Be sure to do your research before jumping in. 😉
u buy that truck or did the company truck??? and u guys only have class b since u do jus straight truck?
We drive this truck for an owner ... Panther doesn't have company trucks you either have to be an O/O or drive for a owner. Jason has a class A & I have a class B ... You only need a class B to drive the truck we are in though.
Hi
I have a quick question where did you buy your portable potty. Sorry for the silly question
Not silly at all. We bought ours from ppl motor homes in Houston tx. They have a website you can order from. ✌🏻️❤️🚚
Do broker'spay the same rate per mile for straight trucks like they do for tractors
Sorry we have no clue. We have a contracted rate through our carrier. They handle the broker stuff
Are you a company driver or O/O? Also if you area company driver how would someone be able to get into one of these type of custom trucks?
Bobby Davis we are owner operators for a year now. Unfortunately there are no company driver positions for these trucks. There are fleet owners who hire drivers but this makes you an independent contract driver not company driver. You will most likely need to team to start.
my question is do u need a CDL for this truck????
josh liner Yes you need a Class B CDL to drive this truck
Yes, just a class b
TheCraftyTrucker
Is it worth it? Driving this type of load for a pay check?
Okie Rider OTR drivers make pretty decent money you start out with a 55k to 65k annual salary with room to grow as a company driver.
Im a CDL-A driver which I suggest everyone to get rather than stopping at a CDL-B basically because of weight purposes. Cant go over Class B weight other wise youll need a CDL-A to operate the equipment.
Ive been driving for 4 years and work local. I make about 1300 a week which for my area is pretty decent money (I live in the northeast)
Hi I'm William. New to your channel. Question are you lease operators? How did you get started in this?
We are independent contractors. To get started I always recommend signing up for expeditersonline and learn from other drivers mistakes and success. Took us 6 months of research and about a year of trial and error.
+J Hutch He thanks for your help. I'm assuming you need a CDL with haz mat?
+William England no prob, yes on Cdl, hazmat is very helpful in keeping you busy.
Do you have to have a CDL to drive this
