- This outting is all about finding vintage to antique furniture to flip quickly and easily!! Karen used to refinish some of the pieces, but it was a lot of time and energy, and half the time the new owner would repaint it themselves anyway. NOW Karen has learned ther best and easiest way to do it is to simply clean it up, fix anything that;'s broken or not working, and sell it in it's current aesthetic condition, at a smaller profit (but WAY less work) and let the new owner fdo what they want with it! Flipping furniture is easy and profitable if you can score it for the right price and put minimal effort into presenting a clean functional product to your customer! 😉👍

Hey Rob and Karen! Great haul . Here's a tip when you are at a garage or yard sale that doesn't have what you are looking for or collect, before you leave always ask do you have any old furniture or old pictures or what ever you collect. Alot of the time the seller will say , oh yeah there's old dresser in the basement or attic. Dosen't hurt to ask. I collect 60s and 70s record albums. I always ask, got any records and sometimes I get lucky. Good luck hunting.

Karen used to do a lot more refinishing, but she finds it a lot of work, and sometimes people would buy the piece she refinished, and paint it. Which, they can do what they like with it, but Karen wondered why she refinished it if they were just going to paint it anyway, so now she usually sells as is for less, and lets the buyer decide if they want to paint or refinish themselves. 😆😆😆 We have some "Karen's Project Vlog" videos tho where she works on some furniture - you may have seen them but if not I can provide a link.
It would seem that Karen was good at putting puzzles together, growing up, and doing the Tetris Game. Great job packing the truck.

Not sure if you are familiar with chalk paint. But here’s no sanding involved. Just clean really good. Paint usually 2 coats and you are done. Dries quickly between coats. Easy fix for beautiful outcome.
I (rob) don't know alot about chalk paint, but have seen it before and thought it just looked like primer or flat paint, but way more expensive LOL. I wondered to myself if the same effect could be achieved with cheaper 'matt finish' paint and sand paper rather than chalk paint?? But that's because I don't paint, and so I just wonder these things in my head. 🤣

Garage sale time again but it will be a very short season for them :(. Nice finds. We've only been to about 3 yard sales in our town as people are still leery of having them yet. I was going to have at least 2 this summer but Covid put the kabosh on that :(. Just have to reselling online and at online auctions. Some of my online buyers are from Alberta and Manitoba. I think 1 was from Saskatchewan (gee I'm forgetting how to spell that province had to look it up ), old age is creeping in lol. Thanks for sharing

I watch a fella in Texas call THAT SHABBY GUY, who does professional painting in his garage...he has done furniture like those chairs with a variety of techniques to turn ugly ducklings into swans. I'm envious of dedicated people who love restoration. I have the designs, but not the time or interest, so watching others perform magic is cathartic!---Next: Lost Mountain Restoration in Georgia does furniture restoration in his garage...same thing, very cathartic (with the dresser).---And for giggles and laughs, look up The Furniture Guys (they had a show on PBS a long time ago, and have returned to You Tube much aged, but still full of restoration tips for furniture and upholstering. Sometimes the shtick gets a bit too corny for me, but I don't have to suffer long! And sometimes Joe's skill level is a bit to technical for me, but fun nonetheless!)
Karen used to do A LOT of refinishing but the last few years has started just 'quick-flipping' items pretty much as-is for a lesser profit, but MUCH less work as well LOL 😄 We'll be sure to go check it out still tho! 😁👍

I had a round top oak table like that. I was moving and the guys forgot to secure the top and it rolled out of the back of the pickup truck and down the road it went. The pavement was very unkind to the top and I had to junk it. I was as mad as a hornet when I saw it.

Those white chairs would be cute with seats covered with drop cloth material and stenciled with a grain sack stripe, using Apple barrel black paint. Check out GingerChickRehab's UA-cam channel to see how. Very cost efficient with a high return!

Hi Cathi! No! Karen sold all the furniture as-is to other resellers who will put the work in and charge LOTS.. 😁😁 She doesn't make as much, but says it's WAY less work for her and she has been enjoying that 😆 She used to refinish alot but has found she can just quick-flip to shop owners or others who will then do the work.
I should mention, Karen DID fix the drawers on the dresser before selling it tho....

Hey Julie! Actually Karen sold the items as-is!! 😆 Her reseller / business owner friends bought everything, and they will redo the stuff then charge lots more for them LOL. Karen knows show doesn't make as much money, but LOVES the 'no-work' aspect of it, and the fact she can have everything gone within days when she quick-flips to other refinisher / resellers.
I should mention, Karen DID fix the drawers on the dresser before selling it tho....
I can't imagine myself buying just one chair, even if it is a nice bent wood design. Seems risky trying to find the right buyer.
