That is a beautiful car,,it happens to be the same age as I being I wás born in 1955 Nov 15th, my family members owned about 4 of these 1955 Chevy when I was about 14 yrs old up untill about 23yrs old , 3 of my brother's and 1sister owned one during our younger yrs, 2 brothers had the bel air , one looked exactly like yours except it had a V8 under the hood as well as my other brothers belair except his was two tone with the upper part white and the lower red, my sister had the 4 door had top which was all blue in color and not two tone just a solid blue, a dark blue that best I could describe the color would be turquoise, oh I almost forgot my eldest brother who owned a 2door sedan which was another two tone blue with white top but he had it painted all one tone lime green , which may not sound flattering for a car color but if you saw it I think you would've thought it looked, cool even though you like sticking was original from what I understood by your video,, and I totally agree when it comes to these beautiful cars from the 50's ,I used to owned a 1957 sedan delivery which I loved so much , just the memories of the good times we all used to with that car make me miss the good old old days , I ended up having to sell it because I had it stored where someone was steeling parts from it like crazy and I was afraid I would end up with just the shell before they were done so when I got an offer for $700 which was what I paid for it I took it, it broke my heart but I could be there to watch over it and that was the only storage I had for it so it was the option I had that it not end up in a junk yard somewhere because two many parts missing and not worth restoring, anyway thank for sharing your beautiful 55 Chevy with us and taking me down memory lane once again I had a wonderful time watching your video enjoying your beautiful car and the memories it brought, Thank You, P.S, Thought I should mention since I talked about 3 brothers and 1 sisters owning one of these beauties in our younger yrs you might be wondering just how many brothers & sisters do I have, or not but I'm gonna tell you anyway because I love them , I have 7 brothers and 5 sisters , I'm in the middle of the 13 of us and I just turned 68 on the 15th of this month ( November) which was just a couple days ago, oh I was born in 1955, just like your beautiful car was, thanks for letting me bend your ear, I had a wonderful time thanks to your sharing your video of your car and I appreciate your doing this and you for the good time , it was fun, May God Bless Gil. cool
Love to see a car with the straight six still under the hood. So many cars back then had these smooth reliable six cylinder engines, and trucks too. It brings back a certain nostalgia because the straight six was pretty common to see when you opened up a hood, or later a small displacement eight. The blue flame is extra special. Nice car. My Dad had the 56 Bel Air with the same color scheme. 265 power-pack. That dashboard brings back memories. Loved that airplane hood ornament too. : )
It's just gorgeous! Mr. Munao must have really burned the midnight oil to complete this car in one year. I can tell it certainly was a labor of love. Thanks, Lou!
Hi TheGunfighter45acp, Happy to read "It's just gorgeous!" :-) I agree, one year seems like a VERY focused effort to get this car to this quality. My pleasure sharing this car with you. You're welcome, Lou
Once again we travel back in time, to 1955, to see this magnificently restored Chevrolet Bel Air! I like that soft combination of pastel colors between light blue and ivory white. Everything looks shiny; from the beautiful airplane ornament on the hood, to its chrome rear bumper (so shiny you could clearly see it with the camera's reflection). An equally neat interior with a beautiful combination of tones similar to the exterior, along with an instrument panel rich in chrome details. As always, the collection of manuals and catalogs in the trunk is quite interesting; In fact, they looked like they had just been printed, because they were so shiny! Finally, the final ride was great while that chrome Jet sailed along the route to follow! Great video, Lou, and best regards!
I applaud the owner for not swapping out the inline-6. You can tell when a '55 is a six by the deletion of the small "V" emblems placed between the taillights and bumper. In '56 the "V" was placed on the hood and trunk. A quintessential '50's car for sure!
Thank you for sharing your video ! I don't know how everything is exactly like it was in 1955. Even the accessories book ! It definitely looks as if you time travelled back to 1955 and got the car from the showroom !. Absolutely amazing !❤
It's good to see these being restored back to factory condition. Car guys used to turn their noses up at any of the Tri-5's that had the straight 6's. The first thing they'd do is pull it and put in a 350.
Hi Lou, they used the image of a Knight because that symbolized protection and security... that's why that image was used in the Protection section of the Accessory guide. ✅
Such a beautiful example of a mid-1950's car. Still so round and simple...Just look what a few short years away that cars would look like in 1958 or 1959! They were outragous. This car has an innocence that was there in the early to mid-50's. Love it. The engine sounded great! Loved all the chrome inside around the windows. It makes it look expensive. Great car! Great detail. Don't forget Thumbs UP everyone to show Lou how much we appreciate what he does....and to keep them coming!!
I always liked the styling of the 55s.This one is so well restored and original. Amazing that it has a six and not a v8. The baby blue and ivory color combo is so amazing too. The wide white walls too. Thanks Lou for another amazing car story.
Absolutely gorgeous 55 Bel Air! Would have loved to have seen a picture of what he started with. Love when they bring the cars back to it's original 50's look. I'm not in to modifying any of the great American autos of the 50's. Great video Lou!
Very gorgeous 55! The 55 Bel Air a personal favorite for me, a true American icon. This was here a fine example, Tony an amazing job restoring this beautiful piece of artwork. I'm also happy he kept in original and didn't modify and hot rod which I don't care for. Great video Lou!
Hi Zach, Happy to read the 55 is a personal favorite :-) I like when the car is or is restored back to original too. Appreciate the kind words on the video, Lou
An interesting year design-wise for all of the Big-3. Groundbreaking looks that started [arguably] the most fertile design creativity in the history of the industry. A Golden Era. Gr8 feature Lou. Congratulations to this gentleman for the stewardship of this vintage Chevy!

So many of these cars were hot-rodded back in the 60's it is very cool to see one restored back to original form. I second the comments made regarding the original six cylinder engine, it is a rarity. I forgot how attractive these cars were when new, no wonder they sold so well.
A really nice restoration. I can't imagine what he has left to do. Nice color combination, and it's nice to see a classic with an inline-6 engine. I like the upgrade to dual carburetors. Thanks for sharing, Lou!
Back in high school we would have scoffed at this car because of the six cylinder. It was strange that the original owner opted for power steering and brakes but wouldn’t step up to,the new V-8! Still, that 235 six was no slouch and actually had more than adequate power. People was sometimes, distrustful of new technologies in those days. The 235 six was a proven great engine! Great car!
Magnificent restoration ! Wonderful color combo, looks like she just rolled off the assembly line. Happy for you Tony, and congrats for a great job. And Lou, another awesome video, thanks so much !
Hi, Lou, My parents bought a new 1955 Belair because that year was the first V8. It was tan and white. The upholstery had the Chevy bow tie woven into the nylon. Yes, a beautiful lady would be a great accessory to go with a nice car! 😁 This is a nice unique 55 Bel Aire with that Blue Flame under the hood. I'm surprised 3 on the tree wasn't offered in cars equipped with the higher power Six back then.
If I were a collector, I might have one of these, although I am a Ford/ Mercury guy first and a Plymouth/ Chrysler guy next. I mostly agree that vintage cars should be unmolested. No hot rods unless they were muscle cars from the factory to begin with, and still, these should be unmolested. The glass water bottle for a washer fluid reservoir was interesting. I didn't know the car designers would do that. I have to, wonder about that spare tire being original, it looks in too good of shape to be that old. There should be signs of oxidation on that tire. Good video, nice looking car.
Man, nice looking Chevy. My brother in law bought a restored convertible one in the early 1990's. It was white and orange colored. He had the small v8 in his. I think he said it was the first year for a Chevy V8, 1955. Chevy had straight 6's up to this year with no v8 option. This 6 in this one looks just fine to me. When I was young, the hotter the better, now I'm older, the straight 6 would be powerful enough and better on gas. Not a speed demon. This is a really nice car this man has.

Beautiful car Lou. My dad's first car which he still owns he bought a red a white 2 door hardtop 265 power pack in 1970 for $275. The original motor got blown up drag racing then a 235 went in and it got blown up too. After that he got a 283 power pack engine out of a 57 Chevy and that's what's still in it today. This blue and white one is nicely optioned with power steering and power brakes and electric wipers, the chrome exhaust tip cost extra also. Do you happen to know where he got those accessories manuals from? My dad would love to have some of them. They would make a good Christmas present for him.
Hi PlymouthDuster225, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Dads 1st car :-) Hmmm, I'm not sure where the accessories manuals came from. eBay? Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
An un-molested '55 Bel-Air for sure. I think Tony's adding rocker panels along the bottom (per the accessories book) is a good idea; giving the sides there a nice gentle dash of flash.
A very nice review of a quite nice 1955 Chevrolet. However if there is never another new article or video on the 55-57 Chevrolet or the 64-66 Mustang, the world will continue to turn quite nicely.
In 1955 Chevrolet offered a single 235 cu in six cylinder engine rated at 136 horsepower when equipped with Powerglide or 123 horsepower with the manual transmission. The dual carburetor set up on this car is most likely "Period Correct" but is clearly identified as an after market item and consequently it does NOT represent original or optional equipment offered by Chevrolet for this car. Non authentic modifications aside, it is a very nice car
Quite a few of the early automatics didn’t have a (P)ark gear. You had to put them in (N)eutral and apply the parking brake. Even after all automatics had a Park gear my dad didn’t want to use it if he was parking on a public street. He felt that if someone hit the car, you’d shear the gears, while if you used neutral, the driveshaft would be totally disengaged and there would be no transmission damage. He finally stopped doing that in the late ‘60’s.
Love the "trunk-n-treats" on this '55, Lou! What was the deal with Peter Pan and Chevy Bel Airs? Maybe Captain Hook drove a Ford Fairlane! Anyway, I had a chance to buy a restored 210 with an inline 6 twenty years ago and didn't do it because I thought I needed a V-8 and have regretted it ever since. Great story, Lou! Thanks.

The car has two 1bbl.carbs on a Fenton intake manifold not a 4bbl. Surprised it lacks a split exhaust manifold for dual exhaust. Fenton made such exhaust with two cast-iron pieces.

Me gusta el carro un Chevrolet Bel Air 1955; está muy bonito; si fuera mío el carro; le cambiaría el motor de 6 cilindros en línea; porqué consume mucha gasolina; por un motor V8 ahorrador de gasolina; saludos.
Personnaly, the 55,56, and even 57 FORD was a better looking automobile. The 57 Chevy was sharp, but put it side by side with the 57 FORD, the FORD was sleeker, longer and a little more innovative. NOW the 58 IMPALA has it all over thr 58 FORD. THAT was not a good design that FORD came up with !
I don't know that the 58 Ford wasn't a good design, it was maybe Chevrolet managed to come up with a better design. It would seem that Chevrolet may have taken over the lead by 58, but I liked the 59 Ford better than the 59 Chevy. In 60, it probably went back to Chevy, but it was a neck to neck race for best design throughout the sixties.

Agreed -it’s great that he left it as a 6. And it sounds surprisingly good.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a 1955 six cylinder tbh.
Also the hubcaps will have six bow ties for the six cylinder. 8 for the V8.

This was a real change for Chevy. They sold these things like hotcakes. Glad this is so loved and cared for.
I like this change :-)
55 Chevy,a great year for change. And the State Troopers loved their new found equalizer with the V-8. 😂

Been following your awesome channel for along time. Like what I see. Appreciate your response.
Yes, a beautiful lady would be a great accessory to go with a nice car! 😁 This is a nice unique 55 Bel Aire with that Blue Flame under the hood. I'm surprised 3 on the tree wasn't offered in cars equipped with the higher power Six back then.
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
I am a ford guy but that is a nice car .
Happy to read you enjoy this "nice car' :-)
Happy front view....

Love that colour combo
Happy to read you enjoy the colour combo :-)
If I were a collector, I might have one of these, although I am a Ford/ Mercury guy first and a Plymouth/ Chrysler guy next. I mostly agree that vintage cars should be unmolested. No hot rods unless they were muscle cars from the factory to begin with, and still, these should be unmolested. The glass water bottle for a washer fluid reservoir was interesting. I didn't know the car designers would do that. I have to, wonder about that spare tire being original, it looks in too good of shape to be that old. There should be signs of oxidation on that tire. Good video, nice looking car.
Hi Daniel, Happy to read you enjoy the way this car is "unmolested" :-) Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
Gorgeous
:-)

That is a real cream Puff, a term that is known to people of that time period. That car is in the hands of good people. 😊
Happy to share this "real cream Puff" with you :-)
An un-molested '55 Bel-Air for sure. I think Tony's adding rocker panels along the bottom (per the accessories book) is a good idea; giving the sides there a nice gentle dash of flash.
Happy to read the details on this car you enjoy.
This would be catagorized in the day as a "Creampuff," am I right?
Morning, Lou!
Moring Dave, I think you're right. Lou
Beautiful blue color
Happy to read you like the color of this car :-)
A very nice review of a quite nice 1955 Chevrolet. However if there is never another new article or video on the 55-57 Chevrolet or the 64-66 Mustang, the world will continue to turn quite nicely.
Happy to share this "review" with you :-) Lou
Oooh . . . car candy with trunk & treats . . . very tasteful.
Happy to share the "car candy" with you :-)
In 1955 Chevrolet offered a single 235 cu in six cylinder engine rated at 136 horsepower when equipped with Powerglide or 123 horsepower with the manual transmission. The dual carburetor set up on this car is most likely "Period Correct" but is clearly identified as an after market item and consequently it does NOT represent original or optional equipment offered by Chevrolet for this car. Non authentic modifications aside, it is a very nice car
Hi Stude289, Thanks for sharing your knowledge. Happy to read you enjoy this "very nice car", Lou
Our 55' Rocket 88 Olds came with no parking gear. Just N, D, 1, 2, R.
Thank you for sharing.
But that Olds came with two rockets. One on & one under the hood😂

What a beauty
Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-)
Love the "trunk-n-treats" on this '55, Lou! What was the deal with Peter Pan and Chevy Bel Airs? Maybe Captain Hook drove a Ford Fairlane! Anyway, I had a chance to buy a restored 210 with an inline 6 twenty years ago and didn't do it because I thought I needed a V-8 and have regretted it ever since. Great story, Lou! Thanks.
Hi Gary, Happy to read you enjoy the trunk & treats with this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
You have done one heck of a job on this double nickel bro❤🎉

Were those dual carbs really a factory option? Or, a dealer add on?
Hmmm, I think a factory option. Maybe a Viewer can share knowledge.
The car has two 1bbl.carbs on a Fenton intake manifold not a 4bbl. Surprised it lacks a split exhaust manifold for dual exhaust. Fenton made such exhaust with two cast-iron pieces.

Kind of curious if this car had any rust in the lower body, rockers, floorboards, etc, coming from Illinois.
....well it might have at one time, but you can eat off the bottom of it now.
Nice 55....but I prefer a 210 post...❤
Thank you for viewing and sharing.
WHAT? No Horn honk! 😮
Did I miss doing that?
if chevy just remade these again they could sell millions of them ., new brakes, new engines but every else the same
Good idea.
Idk, needs a blower sticking thru the hood lol jk
Nice car❤
Thanks for sharing what you'd like to see.
Me gusta el carro un Chevrolet Bel Air 1955; está muy bonito; si fuera mío el carro; le cambiaría el motor de 6 cilindros en línea; porqué consume mucha gasolina; por un motor V8 ahorrador de gasolina; saludos.
Hi Jose, Thanks for viewing that you like this car. Thanks for viewing and sharing, Lou
Thanks for viewing and sharing your preferences.
No, no, no. You all have it wrong. The car most....
