    The thing about anything mass produced, is they will only ever show you the cleanest footage, the nicest of everything being used. But really there's a lot more going on that you never see.

    I worked at McDonald’s in the sixties. The potatoes came in 50lb bags and stored in a basement. I had to haul them up them dump them into a rotary skinner then open a chute and dump them into a big sink of rinsing water, then would run each potato thru a big manual slicer into another rinsing sink. Then I would fill each basket with fries and let them drip off for a couple of minutes and then blanch them in hot oil(beef tallow) then put them on a rack until they were needed. Then I would brown then in a hotter oil pan until golden brown. Then into the fry tray for salting. Potatoes cooked in beef tallow are amazing.

    this is funny, I don't eat at McD's but the first time I ever ate a McD's was in 1966 in Madison WI. I watched how they made the fries. They had a hand operated cutter that they put a potato in and push it through a cutter into a basket

    There's quite a lot left out here. For one thing the cutters are not "grates". The potatoes are launched by water pressure down a tube at around 70mph, where they meet the cutting blades which are staggered first vertically, then horizontally, over a distance of around a foot. In this way the spuds are sliced rather similarly to the way you might do it at home. Research showed that if all the blades were in the same plane, the potatoes tended to "splat" against the grid rather than slicing. I learnt this when I went round the factory myself.

I tried to get a fish fillet sandwich with salad back then when living abroad, and they refused to substitute the soft drink for water, so I cancelled my order and have just never bothered going back to any of them. I never really cared for their homogenized approach to food anyway, so it was (and is) easy to avoid them with so many other choices.

    I found out one day a long time ago why McDonald's Fanta Orange in the waxed drink containers with a plastic lid tastes different to that from an aluminum can. It's because they make it with water and ice cubes in it when it's prepared at McDonald's. This tastes a little different than that from an aluminum can. Anyway what I found out by accident is that if you refrigerate a drink container from an over the counter store in the fridge, the ice will eventually melt, and the resulting taste will be a lot closer to the Fanta Orange taste you would expect from the aluminum can. There's something about melting the ice and allowing the drink to settle that completely changes the mix to match what's in the aluminum can. I don't understand why, but that's what I found out by accident one day a long time ago. :D

    • @carlthegamer9215
      @carlthegamer9215 3 роки тому +1

      Dude they just have the condensed mixture shot with water in your drink combined with co2 containers, you can even boost the co2 over its standard to get extra bubbly drinks, all soft drinks are a syrup concentrate mixed with water via a machine, not a pre mix in a can, there. you got your answer! of course its different. and yup! diluting a drink with water alternates the state of your mix! in your case ice! and i agree, diluted fountain drinks taste awesome.

    Fun fact. Ordering fries without salt forces them to cook you fresh fries. This is better anyway, because they use 'sodium silico-aluminate' instead of 'sodium chloride'. The chloride in table salt is essential for the body to generate stomach acid for proper digestion, which is primarily made of 'hydrochloric acid', derived from 'sodium chloride'. A lack of 'sodium chloride' in a balanced diet may cause severe stomach cramps and diarrhea.

    And then they add so much preservatives that a big mac is preserved 30 years. Or was it 50 years? If ancient Egyptians only had a McDonalds they wouldn't need mummification.

    The decline of fast food...back in the mid 60's they were peeled and cut right at the restaurant, a buddy of mine worked in the basement peeling and cutting them, that was back when McDonalds was famous for their fries, now after a change in processing and that fishy smelling oil they use I skip the fries

      I mean no offense, but if you think they’re truly delicious, then you haven’t had a “real” burger. Made from ONE cow, not over 100 mashed together into one patty. Grilled on a charcoal grill to a perfect medium inside. Topped with all the fixins that you bought from your local farmers market. Until you’ve had that, you haven’t had a good burger. Don’t get me wrong, I eat McDonald’s. But it’s what I get when I’m hungry and need something right now.

    It's better to consider your health than worrying at age of 60 if you live so, money is nothing to pay off when you are young and active no medication can help, the doctor will prescribe strong medication when you go for a blood test, but I never had a headache or illness when I was young, never had medication for 30 yrs, not even one panadol, make my own food with coconut oil fraying, tamarisk power, beetroot, cinnamon, in my cooking but garlic, and onion fresh is eaten daily, doctors think there are great, it's time you all should wake up. thanks.
