One knee "outside". Shell blocking (fit)? Footbed? Leg length difference? Leg dominance/weight symmetry, hips centered and square? Foot carriage angle? Lots of things to consider before sliding a canting shim under one boot. Human beings are rarely symmetrical but a difference side-to-side should prompt a reasonable look for other contributing/correctable causes before canting.
I totally agree. This particular video was just to demonstrate the device. Canting is the 'adjustment of last resort'. Much more on that coming in the next video.
No, this one was staged to demonstrate the device. Good eye, Bud! Been trying to do these with actual customers, but sometimes not available. I guess I've got to me more careful ;-) As a boot fitter, would you share the visual checklist that you did to catch this?
I was about to ask why the canting shims could not fully correct the knee tracking, but realized that was the clue that something about the basic boot setup was wrong (pronation, cuff alignment?). How did you know it was specifically cuff alignment?
Where can I purchase one of these knee-center calipers I see in all of these videos?

@@CantologyLLC Ok, look forward to it :)
Did he check cuff alignment before assessing sole cant needs?
