Amazing to see someone cover this. Its one of my favorite hyper niche roguelikes. This game has some great lore and secrets. It needs more attention As a person who has beaten this game I would like to point out a detail without letting too much on. The clock "new game plus" is not a new game plus. It is continuing the game. This is an important distinction because it plays in to a major mechanic that is very different from other roguelikes. There are a lot of secrets, and I don't want to give any away, but one thing you would note is that if you went into that clock to rewind time and continue your run, Shield would already be dead. Amazing you managed to kill a God, most don't! Good luck beating the game.
@@AreimaYT ah I see, thank you for clarifying, I'm going to go back to the game now that I've read comments like this, it seems I have a lot more to experience
@@idontwantahandlethough yeah. It is. XD its an insanely hard game. Also the best ending involves solving a lot of little secrets (nothing too obscure tbh)
ICOV mentioned!!!! I've been playing this game on and off since 2020ish and it's easily one of my favourites, the fact that it's so unknown is a huge tragedy
@@barrettmcdonald726 You can't use them in the run you collect them, but in all future runs you can pay xp in the sanctuary to start that run with any weapon you've found schematics for
Man, I love your channel. I haven’t heard of any of those games, it’s extremely unlikely I’ll play any of them, but I will insta watch any content you release. I hope your channel gets the deserved recognition. Enjoy your holidays! Edit: commented on the wrong vid of yours - I already said something similar here, but it remains 100% true!
This game is AMAZING. So many secrets! P.S. The Historian class is great for leveling up because it allows you to bank your experience mid-run (ANYWHERE) to all be carried over to the in-between-game stat improvement screen! P.P.S. you can break old weapons to get some supplies back!
Julian is a real talented dev, I hope this video pops off and we see the game pop-off. The dude really deserves it. The game is wildly punishing, and information is hard fought, but each step further feels rewarding like no other game.
Bro I just found your channel and I love what you're doing but I can barely finish a video because all those niche games look so good I don't want to spoil myself too much
Thank you dude, yeah I get it, for this one though you should be alright to watch until 10:40, everything before is just explaining mechanics and stuff, then I go on to show a full run. But if you wanna go in completely blind I respect that
I just discovered your channel and I have to say, these videos are amazing. I don't know what it is, your way of talking, editing and the games just work so well together. Great work
The assassin can do all contents pretty easily with his stealth mech and the powerful crit from his shiv. After unlocking him, felt like i unlocked easy mode
The game had this weird “You shouldn’t be here, you should have left” vibe that I never thought was an itch I should scratch Also about weapon power, it also dictates how likely to stun and distance of kickback on hit against enemies, so high power weapons are always desirable.
I used to play this around beta, the author made a bunch of nerfs because of me, which made me enjoy the game a whole lot less tbh. But the most annoying stuff it had was late game and/or secret, so I won't spoil, not even sure if it's still the same. Leveling increased difficulty and that really didn't feel nice and it especially didn't play nice with the other systems that increased difficulty. But you needed to level specific stats(very high!) for some secret things, and that could really difficulty soft lock you. Not joking, fighting 5 times the normal amount of enemies, all of which are healthier, better, faster, stronger than normal while you've got baseline stats with just one stat uselessly high was not just pain, but PAIN PAIN. The most annoying thing though was the ending, a real slap in the face.
Yeah I did notice a significant increase in difficulty once I started leveling, and yeah I agree it wasn't great considering I hadn't played the game all that much at that point. I had no idea that there were secrets tied to stats though, I kinda want to go try and find these now but from what you described it sounds like torture lol.
@@dopeydoom well, I'll spoil one little thing. Defeating a specific god let's you reset stats. Plus you store all xp. But once you get into stacking the really useless stats, Death is inevitable. And once you die, and don't start with xp, it becomes pretty much impossible to kill a slime.
@@lubomirkompis9441 oh I see, thanks for pointing this out. So I'm guessing the only way out of that is to just slog through the really hard enemies to try and get xp? Or is that out of the question?
@@roboolet yeah it's deserves more tbh, honestly though without the guides I don't think I would have this vid, they were really helpful, yours included
@@ramios I'll see, if there's enough interest in this vid then I might, will probably try and condense it into a short as there's not much else besides the stat levelling
Fair warning, if you play on console, it's quite bugged. You cannot collect weapon schematics. The weapons never appear in the blacksmith. Maybe other bugs too but that's the big one I've noticed so far. Really sucks.
